With 2 huge bids for defoe and carrick it shows the talent we now have which other teams lack, this proves the progress we have made and how teams are now realising we are gonna be a major threat COYS

but if we are seen as a big club will come when these players subject ogf huge bids say they want to stay rather than ditch us for teams like Man-Ure.

we've yet to hear about what they want to do. i recall carrick saying he was surprised he hadn't been approached about a new contract while the likes of king, lennon and dawson had. You would think with 2 years left that they must have considered it. if i was carrick i'd think they are considering letting me go, especially with hudds a ready made replacement already onboard. I think if we can get 15m for him that's great, but i don't like the idea of him going to man utd, and also them becoming the focus for young english players instead of us.

It's actually two-fold. If we are a to progress nicely forward we hold on to our best players PLUS start attracting some big names that are at their peak.

Personally I think Fergie's interest in Carrick is a case of him sounding us out, vis a vis our staying power as a top-flight club. Are we a threat that he now needs to account for or are we a flash in the pan who will buckle when offered big ammounts for our best young players? I think everyone's favourite miserable Govan man will soon find out the former...
Carrick's going nowhere - we have no reason to be a selling club.

And Ferguson has EVERY reason to panic-he's a man clinging to his former glories, past it and unable bring once again what he has previously brought....he's sadly an ageing great desperate for one last swansong and it's time he realised the longer he stays at United the longer it'll be before they are where Chelsea are. A damning, but true verdict.

All's we need now is for Chelsea to lose their source of success (money) and we may have 4 to 5 teams evenly challenging for the title....how good would that be?

That would be great, nothing is better than a tight race to the finish with Spurs actually being contenders. This is the most anticpated season in years. My gut tells me a cup final this time around.
