Any predicitions? I'm going for a comfortable 2-0 England victory. Crouch and Gerrard to score.

well how was that for boosting your confidance lol. what a steaming pile of crap. beckham was awful and slow, did he get any crosses in? gerrard disappeared for 30 mins of the second half. we were tactically useless and lucky we scored a flooky goal when we never looked like scoring again. owen and crouch both kept making the same runs. it was shockingly bad.

did we miss the spurs players who werent playing, o and the one who's not even there ???

ok we won and thats the main thing esp after Poland yesterday but its the same 2nd half shit, probably cos in the friendlies they only play for 45 minutes then its all change. still to be honest we werent challenged seriously , nothing even remotely close to a decent opportunity for them to equalise but the changes were bizarre and the ref was a greaseball spik ****

We miss the Spurs players who were at home; Defoe and King. Honestly, England played like shit. No creativity whatsoever. Lucky we didn't buy Downing who has this tendency of running 50 yards upping one's anticipation and then giving the ball away.

We have been here before! 1-0 up,take off your forward put on a left winger never mind there is only Crouch to aim for, take off your attacking midfielder look at the bench OH SHIT we havent got any other forwards never mind, owen hargreaves its you.Win 1-0 all going according to plan. This is looking ominously like 2002,2004.

3 points is 3 points. we have one star, Germany have 3 stars. Germans win 1-0 often. rather be sucessful than play well and lose.

well all i can say is boring boring arsenal oops sorry england! Why are england always so conservative in their approach? why cant they take a leaf out of our books and go out and try and beat the opposition with style and flair - instead of waitin for the opposition to 'die of boredam' as a very great player once said!

England have flair players no doubt bout that - think its the coaches they pick is the problem! Course if england had been successful with this 'suffocatin' approach it would be justified but they havent been. nothing much in 40 years!

suppose england supporters - even spurs ones - will be happy with todays mediocre showing against really average opponents but dont expect anyone else to support them. When they come up against a half decent team theyll be on the plane home!

then its mr charisman bypass himself mclaren to take over - exciting times eh!

mjbmedia, "greaseball spik ****" that is brutal. Don't blame the ref pal, England just wasn't good today, although 3 points isn't bad.

TBH, England were bad, but the ref was on their side all the time, what pisses me off is Sven's negative attitude tactics by pulling a striker off and putting on a defensive midfielder and covering what lead you've got.

Why the f*ck didn't Lennon come on instead of beckham or owen?? Downing was shit and doesn't look like Gerrard and Lampard can play together in that midfield...

Sven must realize already what a massive mistake not taking Defoe is.
Owen looked out of shape and form. Also what has Sven got against our
players Carrick and Lennon would have been just the tonic for that dire 2nd
half performance.

Same old England Sven still has not learnt from the last two tournaments, I've said before that Owen is playing by memory and his first touch is crap!. Gerrard and Lampard are both great players but its obvious that they can not play together in the midfield, we are so unbalanced one of them needs to be left out. We did win which was vital but I fear that when we come up against the better teams we will fall short again. And yes the ref was the worst I've seen.

He's a clown. Must have been high on coco leaves.
Some of his decisions baffled, and Gerrard's yellow was never that. He never touched the opposition player....and Carlos Paredes is the dirtiest player I have so far seen this summer.

The refereeing standard has dropped alarmingly worldwide. There's no more common sense as the refs follow the book to the word and we get absurd decisions twice a minute.

This World Cup has seen an alarming increase in Ref's whistle blowing. Its not good to watch.

im a spurs fan 1st
england along way second and getting more n more defined the more i see this turgid, dire football that sven serves up . cant see mclaren as any better. i think sge lost the world cup few weeks ago with his selections and his lack of striking cover .

You make a good point which is rarely mentioned....McClaren's appointment will ensure this waste of an entire generation of talent continues.
