It's been reported in the Official Spurs site that we've reached agreement with RC Lens for left back Benoit Assou-Ekotto. It's said this guy plays LB,LM and the left of CM. Kelly has also agreed terms to sign for Birmingham.

I've just seen that on News Now from the official THFC site. That makes a change hearing it first from the club and not any of the gossip sites. I like it , gives me confidence that the management know what they are doing and quietly going about their business, ignoring all the rumours.
sad to see Kelly go, thought he showd promise but confident that if MJ is prepared to let him go he would not have made the grade. Any bets who is on the scoresheet when we play Birmingham though?

I'd also prefer Kelly to stay. But again this will mean that the club is going for someone better than him or Salty. with a decent left wing, we'll be challenging for 4th place next year.

bloody hell weve been busy.

a rb must be on his way as well as kelly was lb backup to lee. now we have that so if kelly isnt needed, a new rb must be on the cards. unless they plan to switch lee over.

wonder if trabelsi could be it?

I think so and it makes perfect sense. At 29, Trabelsi will give us 2-3 years; time for Ifil to mature.

I think Ifil and Trabelsi would be good. Get rid of Stalteri too.

Not so soon. Keep him as a squad man until Ifil is ready. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind flogging him for 2.5 to3 millions and sign a cheaper understudy.

my concern with this frenchy is if he's so good, why hasn't he gone to the world cup?? Anyone know who he plays for nationally. It's said he was born in france but he could perhaps play for someone who didn't qualify. Any ideas? I would be very surprised if we got trabelsi, as he said way back in february that he knew where he was going to be playing next year. If it was us i'm sure we wouldn't be bidding on chimbo.

I'm also delighted to see us get a good price for kelly. well done the spurs team.

i'll answer my own question, he plays for cameroon, so he'll be off for a month every two years. he gets a lot of yellow cards too from his records.

if he's real good I don't mind as we still have Lee to stand in while he's gone.

and also if he's that good, why has it been left until he's 22 to move to a big club, i know 22 isnt old but its too old to be a young prospect, possibly why kelly left as he's 22/23 and has promised but yet to really deliver. someone said we got a good price for him, what was the price???

on to trebelsi i think he'll go elsewhere but he would be ideal

And how much would that be? I haven't seen any mention of a price.

It's not unusual that he could be a late bloomer. A certain England right back signed for Shitty from some part-time club at the ripe old age of 29. His name? Tony Book.

lets not forget ziegler was supposed to be the dogs danglies, and he even looked it for a while. This guy hasn't kicked a ball for us yet so lets see what he's like.

Am I the only one would thinks we're starting to remind to much of Scum??? I know we only bought to players from france, but if Carricks on his way out and we're buying Zokora instead... I don't like it... What's happened to our "buy young, buy british"??

No, we have two - they have twenty two.

What I care is we continually upgrade our squad. Don't care whether they are English or continental; the only criteria are that they are good or better than what we have.

Yeah, it is just a bonus if they are British.

But there's a dearth of crafty British players.
