Totally agree with you, he can play on either wing and hes got two good feet, plus he can take free kicks / corners unlike ****ing JJ. Would someone tell JJ to stop taking ****ing set pieces:mad:

Well I was wrong about Joe Cole. He has really turned into a super player this year, but I'm not totally convinced Bentley is the right player for us to sign. I'd prefer Capel for the left and Taarabt and Lennon for the right (think Taarabt will take over and be amazing) and concentrate on buying a keeper, a cb, a dm and am with the rest of the money.

He has been in hot form this year though and is playing with a lot of confidence.

JJ set pieces have been good since ramos has took over. Look at the cc final, the chelsea game 4.4 ect.

He's not that bad. Well he was but at least he is improving.

He hits some good ones, but it's a bad ratio still.

Pretty much like the rest of his overall game actually. I've said for a while now the free-kicks sum him up completely.

No pace, isn't that great a crosser either. Blackburn is the right level for him, we should be aiming for class not mediocrity.

would be a nice asset to have someone who can take corners and free kicks.

think we need som1 with a bit more guile , a cleaver player, bently is good for blackburn with their ariel threat, we have different forwards, bently s a bit 1 dimentional in his approach, a good player tho, teach lennon to shoot and cross and to select a final ball. and get danny alves, he dont look happy in savilla, and keita and capel,

I've been clamouring for this lad for a few seasons now. I think he's Beck's natural successor. Great delivery, terrific work rate, and good technique.

Him and James Milner in CM = awesome.

They play down the flanks if they play cm we would hardly win games.

But im with you bentley is quality he can cross, works hard, plays down both flanks and has great skill.

Would be mad to not at least try and go for him.

I have a feeling he will come to us. I think anyone looking at Spurs at the moment (excluding yesterday of course) will see a very exciting and attractive club to play for with a big future under Ramos.

Get him in. Worth every penny. What a freekick he has. We saw what bent can do in the air yesterday not to mention berbatov. Bent would thrive on bentleys distribution.

You think we dont have an aerial threat. Have you been watching Spurs games recently. Woodgate from setpiecese, Berby scoring two headers against the pikeys and against Chelsea and even more so Darren Bent. Fantastic aerail ability, his last 3 goals have been headers (WH, Pompey, Barcodes)

Infact since West Ham on March 9th we have scored:

Bent 3 headers
Berbatov 3 headers
Woodagate 1 header

We have the players to finish off good crosses..headers or otherwise. We need more consistent delivery - Bentley would provide this to great effect.

I think the aerial ability we have is only coming to the fore now as we actually deliver some early crosses and organise set pieces better than lob it to Chimbo every time!

I must say I'm not totally sure about Bentley and whether he is at the level we need to look at, but he does look like he might be ready for a bigger team.

Yeah no doubt, but I would say Bentley is ready. I think Berbatov would love someone like Bentley picking him out or Keane consistently. How many times do you see Berbatov showing his exasperation (alhtough he shouldn't really) when he's in good areas and someone like Lennon cant play a simple final ball to him? If we have players who can produce a good final ball more often that not are strikers will really hurt the oppossition. I know it sounds obvious but the more we get the ball to berby and Keane in dangerous areas the more danegrous we will be. I think Bentley would be a fantastic signing too, his all round game is very solid, I mean his workrate is pretty impressive.

ps..if we keep Berby and sign Bentley, we could score a serious amount of goals next season IMO. I think Bentley providing for our front line would be devestating..honestly. Not to mention we would be seeing a lot more free kicks finding the back of the net!
He's also proven now in the premiership...we know what we are buying.
oops I quoted myself lol

if we want bent to become all the money we bought him for then we need bentley to put some inch perfect crosses in for him

I'm not totally sure he is top level, but as I said he looks like he is ready to shine at a bigger club. I suppose that is the risk you take with many players 'on the brink' so to speak.

Listening to the points you guys are making I am getting more and more warm to the idea.

The reason why i would buy him for 15million is.

He is arrogant which to me brings the best out of good players i.e look at ronaldo. He can cross, great technique, very skillfull, eye for goal and can play either flank.

Can cross from deep and beat his full back. Here are his stats.
http://www.squadgod.com/players/DavidBentley

In a better team with great movement he will score more goals and get more assists.

Also he is one of them players who can change a game on his own with a bit of magic.

Very gifted player who from what i know could be a spurs fans, his best friends support spurs and a very ambitious player who is ready for the big stage.

Please go and get him.:)

we should get him, after all he cant be a waste of 15 million when we spend 16.5 million on 8 goal darren bent. Bentley would score at least 8.

Wee bit harsh given his injuries and lack of the first team starts..Benty will come good, and is already starting to, but I know what your saying and Bentley would be worth every penny of 15 million in my opinion.

Apparently we will have tough competition with Liverpool and Manure, can't see him going back to the scum, after the way he was treated.

Chelsea are over loaded at the moment. I think Liverpool will be the favourites, Pennant hasn't really cut the mustard and Kuyt is playing on the right at the moment! But I think we should really go for him.

Totally agree, but we need to play better to attract these players coming over, another embarrassing display and that won't help.

Well Pete absolute ideal opportunity this weekend being at E-Wood park! Maybe Gus could have a word in his ear when they are strolling down the tunnel at half time!

Am going for 1-1. I cant see us getting turned over after last weeks shambles, although some may think so for exactly that reason.
