lets just say that we win the thre group games fairly comfortably (ok ok but stay with me) bearing in mind Sweden probably wont be too important , Crouch and Owen are firing together, the midfield is shit hot , the defence solid, and of course the keeper is safe.
so 2nd round or later, would it be 'right' for Rooney to just step straight back into the starting 11 of a shit hot winning team (barring injuries/suspensions of course) ?

if i were say Crouch or J Cole id be pretty pissed off to have to make way when ive done great so far , also i think Wayne may be a liabilty if he does come back he'll be sooo fired up ala GAzza in the cup final that hes likely to go a bit OTT and mess us up as he did V Spain.

thoughts?? other than you dont think we''ll make it that far!!

The only thing Rooney has to worry about is that any ****er he comes up against now is going to try and stamp on his foot. And I think he should only be straight in if we scrape the group stages...if players are on form they should not be dropped, but hey, it's sven, and you KNOW rooney will be straight back in. Why oh why has Jenas gone? he's not going to play, am i the only person who can see that Defoe should have stayed with the squad and Jenas sent home?

Ever the pessimist, he won't play at all because Sven will ruin us without any help. Wait till a real manager takes over, and chooses those Spurs players we all kno will make a differenece

i don't think he should step straight back in, but we all know Sven's gonna play as soon as he can

I think he may get a 10-15 minute run out if they have the game sewn up already.

he'll be used as super sub probably, and then if anything replace owen.

I'm not English, but taking Rooney is a gamble in my opinion. If fit, he will be a game changer no question. However if he gets hurt again which is possible and Owen was to get hurt, then Crouch and Walcott will lead the team. Hope the gamble pays off for all of your sanity.

Oh! Look! Taking Defoe would have been quite an astute solution....but sadly, Sven's a ****ing retard.

It's all madness, but what do we expect from the horny Swede. I can't see Rooney doing a Gazza, he's calmed down a little bit these days. I agree and think he will be used as a 'super-sub'.

The plus side is Fergie is very pissed at him choosing country over club, so I believe Levy should make an audacious 30mil bid for him immediately.

The horny Swede. What happens if England plays Portugal and he gets horny upon seeing Ronaldo and Deco smacks a ball hard on his "crouch"?

if Owen & Crouch are on form then Rooney should not come straight back in, plus it will actually gift Sven a game changing substitute, something he has never found in the last 5 years. Jenas wont get a minute on the pitch unless both Gerrard & Lampard get injured, which is a shame cos he's never let anyone down at both club and international level.
