its the busines end of the season, summer is approaching meaning transfer speculation is at the forefront of a lot of footballing discussions. Spurs are usually linked with a whole host of players in transfer windows and this summer is no different but there is one area of the park im undecided on and that is the strikers. Firstly we need to secure the services of Mido on a permanent basis but then what, do we stick with the current trio and wait for the abundence of youth to develope. We've been linked with a lot of strikers i.e. Fernando Torres, a couple of people playing in france and that russian lad (excuse the vagueness) and Jol's even on record as saying he was looking for a striker in january and was close to a deal for this russian lad.
In my opinion we have a good crop of young strikers coming through in Lee Barnard, Mounir El Hamdaoui and Thomas Pekhart but the current trio of Keane, Defoe and Mido are still to peak. i think a move for a striker in his prime would be a mistake as it would be very costly and he wouldnt even get a look in. IMO if we were to add to the strikeforce it should be someone who will stay with us for 1-2 years and them to have a lot of experience, someone in the autumn of their career.
what do the rest of you think on the matter??
