Fat Frank looks like he'll start, he always scores against us, fat bastard.

I predict that I'll be very frustrated about not watching the game and the Chav$ki fans at the wedding will quietly gloat (quietly cos Spurs outnumber them 10 to 1) :( .

I'd love to be able to feel positive about the game, the only comfort I can take is that a) we're vastly improved. b) we have one of the best tacticans around c) a lot of our 1st team players have had over a weeks rest (Lennon, Berba, Chimbo none of them turned up on Thursday).

Neil - This isn't just 'Tottenham Hotspur Vs Chelsea' you need to need to make this thread PROMINENT. This is the biggest game we've had in 6 years!

I'm just dreaming of somehow winning. That's all I can say really. No big speech. No calling the troops into action. I'm getting real, we're playing a brilliant team at full strength. We just need to fight for it, play with passion, and whatever the result, I'll be proud of the lads for even getting here.

COME ON!

They have never beaten us in a final

1967 I was there - 2-1 I would be happy with that result repeated!!!!!

And the euphoria when Mckay picked up the FA CUp was utter magic

May the Saints give us that thrill again

On Sunday the Cypriot Spurs supporters will be at their places in the pub waiting to cheer the boys on - So from the Island of Love we send our love and best wishes to all the fans of Spurs and the Team at Wembley.

Cheers

One thing that u guys will have to realise is that we NEVER do things the easy way.

Really i think it'll be 1-0 us (zokora to score lol) then fat frank will score in the 92nd min.

Extra time we are on the backfoot, play counter-attacking football. We hit the bar. Goes to Pens, Robbo saves 2 and we win on pens 4-2

think it depends if we decide to play for both halves this Sunday, just the last two games wheras under Jol we only played 80 minutes, we only played 45 minutes!!

I think its more cos nobody wanted to 'do a Dawson'

Normally someone out the blue score in a cup final so im going for either hutton or woody to score and berbatov to also score.

I think this could be going to penaltys!

Going for 2-1 to Spurs....:) J Cole for them...Steed and Berby for us!

Defoe8
23rd February 2008, 12:08 PM
GK - Cerny
LB - Lee Po (Our most experienced player in that position)
CB - Woody
CB - Ledders
RB - Chimbo

LW - Malbranque
DM - Tano
RW - Lennon
AM - Jenas

CF - Berba
CF - Keano

My heart says Spurs but my brain says Chelski, I just hope they have an off day!! I'm going to go with my heart and BELIEEEVE we can win it!!

They will be a real danger from set pieces due to the fact Terry, Drogba, Essien and Sheva are all great headers of the ball.

Tano needs to make sure he doesn't get outmuscled by that bulldog Essien, if we can keep him relatively quiet and stop him barging through our midfield like a batterring ram then that's a huge advantage we'll have. Lee Po will have the task of taking on SWP, and he's made a habit of scoring against us recently and so must not get turned inside out by him.

I went with Chimbo due to him playing more games for us this season and thus is used to playing in the current system, whereas Hutton has played only 1 game (I think). Experience will be important, so I chose Lee Po at LB as he's our most experienced player in that position atm (Gilberto is injured), and IMO O'Hara is more of a LW.

The players need to not be afraid of Chelski, they must not look at the team sheet and think oh **** look at all those world class players, they should remember we've hammered the current Prem leaders Arsenal to get to this final, and we showed last season at WHL that we can beat Chelski.

spurs pretty much dominated possession in 1st half. had more chances. but gave away 3 dangerous free-kicks just outside the box. robbo stood off his line on all 3 of them and was puinished for it on the 3rd. we are still well in this game tho

We“re playing very good, the lads are battling hard, but once again Robinson“ s error cost us... He“s responsible for arranging the wall at free kicks, and he twice arrange it very bad...:( Drogba just had to choose, left or right... cause the wall and Robinson were in central position... very, very poor... but Zokora should be warned to not making faults in that area...
Despite we trail after 1st half I“m confident we can win this competition

****ing Brilliant

JJ, Keano, Teemu, Hutton, Robbo, Hudds, Kaboul, Lenny, Berba, Zokora, Steed and were all absolutley class today, working, chasing, covering. Id love to know how much ground JJ covered today.

But Woody and Ledders were Immense. Woody won absolutley everything in the air today and Ledders marshalled his back four and midfield brilliantly. They were rock solid today and Woodys man of the match award was completely deserved.

Words cant describe how proud i am of the boys today, they were all hero's today. Seeing Ledley lift the cup at Wembley brought tears to my eyes, im sure it was a very emotional moment for everybody connected to spurs.

Oh and i forgot a couple of people..........Who was it...............erm................

Oh Yeah............................

JUANDE RAMOS & Gus Poyet

Im not sure how they can be in a job 4months and change the whole teams mentality to such an extreme, we now truly believe that we can beat anybody. They've instilled such belief in our young team that they now have the confidence to express themselves and players like JJ and Lenny are blossoming. The fitness levels are incredible, chelsea had 2 extra days off in the build up to the game but entering extra time we were getting stronger and stronger.

This Trophy is going to be the first of many, if Juande can transform the team in four months imagine what he can do after a summer of transfers and a proper pre-season.

Good times are a coming people.

Morning fellow Yiddo's!!

This is the first time I've even switched a computer on since Sunday. Let's just say I was a bit of a mess yesterday!:)

What can I say? Really, what can I say that does justice to what we're all feeling? Elated? Over moon? Overjoyed? How about fantaboulously overbrimming with splendiferous ecasticness!!!!

Or how about....?

****ING YESSSS!!! GET IN, WE'RE ****ING KINGS OF LONDON AGAIN!!!!!!

Seriously, we destroyed the Arse in the semis, we've out battled Chelsea in the Final. League standings aside, we're top of the heap at the moment. And you know what? Man Utd were gifted the point against us the other week. So we've outplayed the top three clubs in the last month! :D

If that just screams top 4 for next season to me. AND we're in Europe again next year! So Berba's gonna stay!

Work is sweet as me and the other yiddo are reliving the game, while the gooner has gone very quiet in the corner! Ha Ha!!

As for the game itself and the lads. ****ing brilliant were'nt they? King and Woody totally showed Terry up as Capello watched on. Best defensive pair in the league? Next season they could well be. Slot bale in a LB and things look magic. As for Chimbo, well, he did alright, but showed up his unpredictablility, and definately did himself no favours with his strop.

But I just keep seeing Robbies face as he lifted that trophy, and the mad Irish jigging on the pitch. His tears at the end will embed him into the history of this club, just as Villa's goal in '81 did. He reflects heart and soul everything about this club. God love him!

Robbo. Didn't do much. But when it mattered, he did and then some. Corner turned. Our No.1 is back.

JJ and Zokora. Ace. JJ looks deadly with his running now, if only it had been him and not Zokora one on one. Zokora did ever so well cutting out attacks and protecting the back four (as well as giving Drogba some free kick practice). He just can't shoot for shit. Or attack. In fact if he ever goes into the oppositions half, I worry. I nearly had a moment of warped reality when that happened, believed I was there and was going to punch him. £1000 of HD telly brings you back with a bump though...

This is now my wallpaper at work, where everyone can see it...

I dreamed of Berbatov lifting the League Cup about 3 months ago. Thought it was rubbish, but the pictures of him with the cup in the paper were what I dreamed.

He's an amazing, graceful player. All the negatives about him simply aren't true. The press and his agent are conspiring to make him look bad. He's never said he wants to leave Tottenham, I don't think he wants to leave Tottenham. If we have a bid we simply cannot refuse, then he may well be sold, but I think Berbatov loves it here, the hug with Keano was one of the most gut-wrenching things I've ever seen. A beautiful sight. Safe in his job for another year perhaps.

I saw him in the upper tier before the game waving to the fans, then on the pitch celebrating after the game.

He's probably taking all the credit today at the training ground.

I take it this is Commolli you are talking about?

Well I stick by the opinion that Jol had a veto on all first squad signings. And given the fact that I think that is VERY likely then Commolli must be judged over time. Actually either way DoF must be judged over a long spell.

I always thought Jol was the problem with the signings as well as his tactical faults. He didn't want more than one winger, made some bad reinforcement blunders in the last two summers etc.

What did you think of Levy, Commolli and Ramos's work in January? Ramos had no problem with those options, did he? But this time the veto was Ramos and not Jol and that was the difference.

The veto is the crucial part. I mean if you think about it, the veto means the last decision and knowing what is right for the team you work with everyday and your tactics. It's the crucial link, the manager.

Ramos said he rejected 5 or 6 players in January, so he has a veto and that is surely the system we had with Jol too. In fact he said Commolli was less involved than he is now and Jol spoke glowingly of his new signings, and even got tetchy when people said otherwise. They were his alright.

I think it is ridiculous that people are so quick to stick the knife into Commolli.

Rumour has it those people include the men in charge...still sound ridiculous?

The signings picked up by the looks of it once Ramos came in, and we're told Ramos has two windows of his own buys remember. So he's had one.

Now we're told by conflicting reports that he has money in the summer and he doesn't have money in the summer. I think he will buy what he wants, no restrictions without going over the top, I don't think we will have a huge turnover of players for the next few.

Yeah i've heard those rumours too. Anyone who thinks we WON'T have significant funds to spend, especially after the CC win, is talking bollocks.

'Rumour' being the key word mate. And the facts don't back it up, not even close.

And do you really believe the new rumours now for Ramos and 'windows'? I had hoped that would have ended with the old era. Such a load of cock munch or I ****ing well should hope so!

Here's an actual quote, from the boss, Levy: 'We do not have a alotted budget for each transfer window, along with the DoF and the Manager we look at areas we need to strengthen and buy what we deem we need.'

It looks to me the only contraints they put on spending are necessity and the wage structure, which is in line with revenue, and the manager always has the final say on whether someone comes in or not.

This year we need at least three players, preferably five. A keeper, a left winger, a dm, maybe another cm and possibly another cb, and recoup transfers and wages from some of the players that he wants to let go of. What do you reckon?

Well we know they have their little comittee to choose targets, then it's down to Levy to sort out the price. As for the manager having a veto, recent form would possibly suggest otherwise. Santini hardly sanctioned Carrick did he?

Ok, maybe times change, but a summer of what have turned out to be terrible buys just happened with Jol and Comolli, so in my view they both take the blame. End of question. As DoF's (or SD's in our case) elsewhere have shown every summer since time began, they like to buy over the managers head. Juande didn't get on with Monchi back in Seville.

As for targets, a top class striker would be good if we get rid of Bent, but I will give Darren the benefit of the doubt at the moment, maybe Juande can integrate him into our style of play. 4th striker in my opinion now needs to be a youngster.

GK a definate even if Robbo regains his form. A CB coming in would mean the end of Michael Dawson. Kaboul, King, Woodgate and the new one is 4 CB's, Daws would be bit-part at the most. That's what you get for giving in to the hoof.

A winger of some sorts, to fit in with the rotation system to keep everyone nice and fresh and determined. Left footer would be nice.

But most importantly a new CM. Maybe two. Jenas is on fire right now, if he plays like this then give him a shirt. I can't believe it's taken 3 years to get him to play two decent games back-to-back. Cheers Mart! A DM to hold, and again, maybe a AM to get in with the rotational. I want O'Hara to stay, but I fear he will probably be off.
