i know alot of people on here give jenas aload of stick, some rightly justified other bit's not but now he is in the england starting 11 i wonder what this holds for the future. is he going to kick on and become a quality player who performs week in week out or is he going to think he has made it and go back to having 1 good game in 4. i personally hope it is the first option and he kicks on and shows consistently good performances week in week out which we know he has the ability to do.

I don't think Ramos will let him get comfortable. Just goes to show the people who constantly give JJ shite really don't know what the **** they're talking about. The kids got it all in his locker and Ramos/Poyet will get it out of him. Hopefully he'll score a cracker tonite.

JJ just got his first goal for England. All about Joe Cole but he got himself into the sort of position he scored from against Arse in the 1st leg.
Well done son.

Alan Shearer on Jenas 'i've played with him at Newcastle, he needs to feel loved, he need to feel wanted by the team'
Exactly Spurs fans so get behind him and start singing his name at matches as you've sung the name of far far lesser players.
Jenas is quality and he's going to be around for a long time.

Spot on mate, instead of running him down, get behind him and sing his name out and help him continue building up his confidence. Well done JJ.

I've been a critic of JJ as others have in the past, but i have to say he's in England's starting XI on merit, he's really improved under Ramos.
Also keeping an eye on Gunter for Wales playing really well tonight

JJ was in there on merit, Capello started with a clean slate. Let's hope this form continues.

to be fair his performances over the last couple of seasons have been , how shall we say , fickle , and probably warrent the criticisms that many , myself included have had about him.
but onwards and upwards, fresh start for all the team and we should all view it as such .

we said that when Spurs play with two wide men it gives the room in the centre for JJ to exploit, when he wasnt doing that great it was because we didnt have the width, now at Spurs we do and hes doing great.
Last night for England the midfield was crowded, he didnt excel because of it but did nowt wrong , Had a good shot early 2nd half bringing a good save too. subbed cos , i dont know why, hopefully Capello was happy enough , personally id have taken Barry off who didnt do great last night and dropped either JJ or Gerrard deep. But then i think fabio knows more than me

From JJ himself
Jenas said the day would forever stay in his memory after scoring his first goal for England, a tap-in from a Joe Cole cross.
"It's definitely a day to remember, my first goal at Wembley and first one for England too," said the Tottenham midfielder.
"I only found out the team an hour before we got the coach to the ground and I was surprised to be playing, my club form has been good and it's fantastic to get the chance.
Your first goal at Wembley, JJ, three more coming at the end of the month

Very happy for him and hopefully he continues to develope.
I think he played well considering the midfield was packed and a few players couldn't seem to pass.
When he scored i cheered so loud and i thought to myself "**** i haven't cheered for england in a while"!

My interest in the national team has waned but i too gave a loud cheer when JJ scored.
