Now, we're all gotta be expecting at least 4 goals from England on Saturday, and given the current availability of the squad (i.e Players who CAN play) and the last two performances, who would you start with against Jamaica, in the final warm-up match? Would you employ any new formations/tactics?

apparently, england cant play anything other than 4-4-2 because Sven hasnt the nouce to pull it off.

my best england formation, given the personnel would therefore be a 4-3-3, as follows:

gk-robbo

rb-neville
cb-terry
cb-carragher
lb-a.cole

rm-gerrard
cm-carrick or beckham ("holding")
lm-lampard

rw-lennon
cf-owen
lw-j.cole

however, i think on saturday we should play 4-4-2 to get the best out of the players we are trying to shoehorn:

*the back 5 as above

rm-gerrard
cm-carrick/beckham ("holding")
cm-lampard
lm-j.cole

cf-crouch
cf-owen

i only include beckham as he is captain and will NEVER be dropped for strange Sven and commercial reasons. otherwise, for team reasons, i would drop him, despite his deadball skills. gerrard and lampard can easily step up to take over such duties and while not as good, would still give us a strong deadball option.

you notice in my 4-4-2 i dont have lennon but i do in my 4-3-3, thats due to his defensive deficencies. in 4-3-3 he'd be basically an attacker but in a 4-4-2 i think we need more security down the flanks to protect the two guys in the centre.

Robinson
Neville
Terry
Carragher
A Cole
Beckham
Gerrard
J Cole
Lampard
Owen
Crouch

In a 4-4-2....Old School.

id like to think that againt T&T in the world cup he'll give some of the reseve team a run out cos lets be honest they should be able to beat them, rest the 'stars' for the sweden game , save from silly bookings and niggles

re Jamaica therefore id like to see him do the same

James, CArragher, bridge (fit?), Campbell, Terry, Lennon, Carrick, J Cole, Walcott, Crouch, Downing

of course he wont, but then.

I'd have to really blood Dawson instead of seeing ****ball monkeying again.

I'm prepared for another shit performance on Saturday. Sven's 4-4-2 is awful and makes the world class players we have look ordinary.

It's his insistence on playing certain players. England has largely been a 'team' under Eriksson, rather than a footballing nation which incorporates it's talent as efficiently as possible.

He fears the public reaction to dropping players like Beckham and Owen so much so that he's willing to jeopardise our chances at every occasion.

The man is a ****ing pansy, and you need some metal to manage a team succesfully. No-one in the changing room is going to listen to him and actually respect the toilet that he talks.

worth reviving this one after our emphatic win, it looked like it was going to be a tough game until we scored. The knocks to terry and cole may be a problem, although i thought bridge looked better than cole anyway. campbell looked very nervy and seems to have no pace at all now.

lampard and gerrard started to work together after we scored but looked pretty lost before that. Great to see carrick and lennon on, shame he won't take defoe.

Did Lennon and Carrick play well???

they got about 25 mins each. both played ok with no mistakes, carrick probably impressing more with a couple of tackles and a great pass to put lennon through, leading to crouch's penalty. Everyone was taking it easy by that time.

Robinson, also did well, making a great save after a Terry mistake in the first half. (Sorry, have to big up the big man every chance I get!)

Well, I wouldn't call that bigging up as it was fact that he saved well. That was only honest praise on your part.

Surely T&T are in the same class bracket as Jamaica? So another 5 or 6 goals surely? Also, a thrashing in the group game can only do great things for confidence....
