We have shown great improvement, unlucky against Manure, as long as we take those chances, we stand a good chance of winning this one, 1-3 to the mighty yids. COYS.

Same story as last year I think - luck win for them at WHL, lucky win for us at Goodison.

very tough game both teams got points to prove, a draw wud be great result for us,
but we can win as everton have gone off the boil of late, if we can cope with their attack, then we can beat them on the break, AS every spurs fan knows,WHEN WE TAKE OUR CHANCES, it puts teams on back foot,
we always create 3/5 clear chances , can we be clinical..

Cerny deserves one more chance, then play robbo for then onwards.
Robbo will play well when he has a good back 4 infront of him. His mate woody will be playing, we have one game a week king and dawson who can play well with either one of them. We need left back sorted so hopefully this gilberto bloke will sign.

i always worry when we come up against workman like teams , and i would put everton in that bracket , and one of the most succesful at it this season .
we fare better against teams that let us play a bit and struggle when we are snuffed out and not given time , so as said its going to be a game of few chances but berby is due a goal or two
reckon 1-1 ,

Cerny deserves to be number 1 until he ****s up as consistently as Robbo did or Robbo shows form in training.
Funnily enough there were some training pictures the other day and one of them had Robbo surprisingly dropping a ball!

Im not really brimming with confidence. There defence is rock hard and they dont half pack a punch in attack. With woody out injured dawsons gonna have to step up again. King was only rested against utd if i recall? Anyway, i think there gonna get one or two past us, AJ has a good record against us.
Honestly, i think we might scrape a 2-1 or maybe a 3-2 with us playing counter attacking football again.
My lineup.
Cerny
Gilberto Dawson King Hutton
Malbranque Jenas THE HUDD Lennon
Berby Keane
Thats wat it probably will be i recon. Maybe with the acception of Hutton- as if he doesnt sign today he cant be registered in time for the game i dont think? Plus he wont have a had time to adjust to our play and tactics etc so Ramos might leave him out

Oh that's changed alot actually.
Cahill missing is a big blow.
Their recent form has been alright, only losing to Chelsea twice and a shock loss to Oldham as well.

WE CAN WIN DEFINETLY, BUT I WONT TAKE NOTHIN FROM EVERTON, AT THEIR PLACE,
down to creating and taking those chances, and keeping arteta quiet, think we can turn their defence, and get behind them, we could score a few,
BUT MAIN THING NOT TO LOSE, AND KEEP GRINDING DOWN THE GAP TO THE TEAMS ABOVE US

Been listening to London Radio and Sky Sports one, apparently we are not playing that well, Everton had a penalty call turned down, Huddlestone tripping up Andy Johnson. Woodgate seems to be paying quite well. Half time, don't think we have had a decent shot at goal yet.

8 Blackburn 24 1 38
9 Portsmouth 24 9 37
10 West Ham 23 8 36
11 Tottenham 24 4 28
Look at that gap to Wham in 10th. I can see Pompey and Rovers faltering enough for us to gain ground, but that's probably it. At best 9th.
I wouldn't go that far. It will be hard but we can still make Uefa, especially if the FA cup final has two teams already qualifying. It would lift a great weight if we can win the game on Feb 24 though. Huge game for this club, biggest for decades.

In comparison to last season when we shot up to 5th - we have 4 points less than at the same stage last season, when we then lost to ManU(who we play on Saturday) and Sheff Utd. We then won 5 in a row. This season the gap to 6th is 13 points. 5 straight wins won't make that up, unless 4 of the teams above us agree to forgoe any points for 5 games. And we're likely to be without King this time.

Its a site for opinions but not for un-necessary negative comments. If you call Carsley, Neville and Baines world class players, what can I say except, I don't think so. As regards to players missing, we had four of our regular players missing too, but that is no excuse. There is no need for anyone to cry except maybe yourself for not making much sense.

Just watched the game there was a 2 hour delay over here so I avoided the internet so I didn't know the score and it was a truely shite game imvho. The one bright spot was Woodgate who was ****n quality who ever said he was rubbish need to get their heads checked. Worst game Malbranque ever had in a Spurs shirt his passing was crap especially in the final third piss poor. Berby was shit kept falling on his ****ing hole the tosser, Keano was marked out the game by Lescott, Chimbo is a lazy **** too bring in Hutton asap. Lennon was our only player who looked remotely dangerous in their half but he never had any support or movement or ****ing anything. Awful game to watch I just wasted 90 minutes of my life watching shite and swearing at the tv ffs.

Just watched football first. I have to say we look tired and two big games in the last week showed. Woodgate had a good debut and we looked solid at the back for a change. Its ironic that we have been scoring goals for fun coupled with brillant attacking football for most of the season and conceding left, right and center...yet tonight we looked good at the back, thanks to Woody I might add, and totally devoid of any invention upfront. The squad will have a full week off after the United game (bar the England game) which will be welcomed.
Scrappy game with very few half chances nevermind clear cut ones. All the same Everton are a strong side and given the events of the last week its a point gained rather than two points dropped.

we played poor but this lad is our most experienced midfielder and is a ENGLAND international, surely you expect to see atleast a pass or two from an international midfielder, compared to carsley,
ITS NOT THAT IM ASKING TO MUCH ITS THAT YOU ACCEPT TOO LITTLE,
WE ONLY MANAGED TO PLAY FOR LAST 10 MINS, and we could have snatchd it,
but mate centre midfield is your teams heart and i do expect to see somthing from that pos.

I watched the whole 90+ minutes and JJ was solid today he got about the pitch made some good tackles and distributed the ball fairly well. The players who I was most disappointed in were Berby who was being marked by Jagielka and did **** all but fall on his arse everytime he got the ball 20-30mil from whoever doesn't seem to bad at the minute and Malbranque who couldn't pass to save his life tonite he was truely awful all game. Keano had a bad game but he was being man marked by Lescott so Berby had to have a big game and he blew it. Lennon was our only attacking outlet worth a **** but he had no support from anyone even chimbo who played like he knew he was on his way out the club. I thought JJ, O'Hara, and Boateng when he came on were all solid and got stuck in but Lennon was our only attacking outlet worth a **** Mal, Keano, and Berby were dire. You seem to have a vendetta against JJ and your continued negative posts are annoying and predictable.

In all fairness, why pick on JJ?
I only saw MOTD and it seemed a shit game. Woody looked superb and Cerny continues to do well.
It wasn't up to JJ that we didn't win, was it? It was the team performance as far as I saw. And Cerny was instrumental in getting a clean sheet.
I think we are playing a lot of games at present and I think we dip physically at times because our squad is stretched.

If I had to blame someone it would be Berbatov. We kept getting him the ball in good positions and he mostly fell on his hole after holding on to the ball to long or couldn't get away from ****ing Jagielka to get a shot off. He should of won us the game in injury time but he fluffed it.

Woodgate and Lescott were the best 2 players on the pitch. Woodgate was probably the better of the 2 because he made some important interceptions and tackles. Lescott was marking Keano pretty much out the game Keano had one chance but hit it straight to the keeper pretty tamely. That's why Berby should of taken the piss with Jagielka marking him who lets face it aint that good a defender.

Yes I have watched the game, and it seems you might have seen the wrong game. JJ did not have one of his best games, however, he was definitely not the worse player on the pitch. He still got stuck in with his tackles. Can't blame him for not getting the whole three points, anyway, one point away to Everton seems to be a good result for us.

so unless he has the worst gema he,s the best?
look any team is governed by the central midfield, how can u say anything about the forwards if they dont get any passes from the midfield, same as wide players they depend on the midfield to supply the balls to work with,
for those who say i pick on jenas, open ur eyes,
he is the catalyst, the hub, CENTRAL MIDFIELD, HASNT ANYBODY PLAYED FOOTBALL,
HE HAS A AMAZING AMOUNT OF LACK LUSTRE GAMES, or is that an exaggeration?

BUT FOOTBALLERS ARE ASKED TO PASS AND CONTROL THE BALL, arnt they,
what makes me laugh is many of u guys see this overrated guy being a top midfield er, PLEASE....
OK NOW IVE PREDICTED HE PLAYS BELOW PAR IN THE LAST 2 GAMES AND AM SURE HE WILL CONTINUE THIS CONSISTANT LACK OF QUALITY ON SAT,
when do u guys predict he will have a good game, a game when he actually plays a thru ball or two, he actually plays a one two, meaning ful one two, and goes forward,
you guys are content with a player running up and down the pitch, making lunging tackles, witch ultimetly gives other team a free kick . many in dangerous positions,
oh and read the papers and web sites for player performances, most gave jenas 4/5 or a generos 6, thats consistant, the mark of atrully great player, international class. ehh,

Who says that he is the best anyway, you seem to be going completely off track there.Central midfielder has an important role to play and so do the wingers who play an important part in set pieces, saying that this would apply to all players on the pitch. The team plays as a team and not individually. You seem to hate JJ, that is your problem, but when he performs like he did against Arsenal, how can you state that he is not performing?. He was also voted MOTM for that game and not Fabregas whom you think is the one and only.

Neil Mcnab seriously it was not Jenas's fault! Thats spectacularly unfair to blame him for a team performance which was quite frankly woeful right across the park (bar the back). As I said previously the whole team looked tired. He's had two excellent games in a big week for the club despite missing a few chances at Old Trafford. Get off the guys back.

He's the most improved player under Ramos and it will take time to see the improvement on a more regular basis...hopefully it happens.

A clean sheet and a point at Goodison, albeit against a depleted Everton side, is not to be sniffed at, many a side will go up there, play better than we did and lose.
However, as I can't see us getting anything out of Man U (someone anyone please boot Ronaldo ****ing hard in the opening 30 seconds) perhaps we ought to have been a bit more ambitous.

The forwards and widemen did get the ball in good positions quite alot yesterday especially Berby who did **** all with the service he got he either held onto the ball to long then fell over or held onto the ball to long then hit a shot that got blocked. Malbranque was crap too everytime he got the ball in the final third he passed it straight to a Everton defender. Keano was marked out the game but still had one good opportunity that he hit tamely straight to the keeper. Lennon played well and caused them some problems but everything he created came to nothing because Berby, Keano, and Malbranque were shite. Yes, but if you are offering an opinion that people think is going way too far and are being a bit hardheaded about it, then more than likely people are going to react to it.
Although I agree that Jenas is not amazing (even after the large and very welcome recent improvement), I think on this occasion it looks like you are scapegoating him for a bad game all round (except for the defences).
If he was world class then no doubt it would have begged the question, 'well why didn't he take it by the scruff', but he isn't mate, is he?
But he is a good player these days and can be very good. Just don't expect him to turn losses into draws or draws into wins, not yet at least. He's not Gerrard and he certainly isn't Fabregas. The singular criticism you have dished out for this game seems very unfair, even if he had a poor game.
A few weeks ago the bee in your bonnet was Robbie Keane. This is a guy with 19 goals and 12 or more assists and it's not even Febuary! And for much of the season he got poor service!
So then you decide you will say Keano not a 'big game player.' Which was rubbish to begin with as he most certainly always was and has proven it again in recent weeks.
He has scored two at Anfield, one at Old Trafford, four in recent memory against Arsenal, set up Jenas twice in the semi, set up the winner against Chelsea last season after putting Boularouz on his arse and this is in a team that has been notorious for struggling against the top four.
This is not to mention his international record and the way he rose to occasion at the world cup after spending most of the season on the bench at Leeds (behind Alan Smith for reasons only known to Dave O'Leary).
Not a big game player, paah!
