Now that we are the superior North London brand - isn't it about time a gooner switched allegances and joined us. Imagine the shockwaves and the defection felt by the arse and the cockiness we would feel. Forget Ricketts and Judas - we want Viera or Van Persie.

What kind of Spurs fan am I? Im the kind of spurs fan tired of 20 years of mediocrity - only 2 trophies in 20 years - living in our neighbours shadows. Arsenal have won practically everything whilst we've had our thumbs up our arses. Arsenal poached Campbell without a flinch. The arsenal fans loved it. Get real and get ahead. Big teams make big brave decisions. Do you hate Pat Jennings then? Cos I know I dont.

well dispite the scum sentiment, theres not alot at arsenal i'd want at spurs , i'm incredibly proud of our policy of buying mostly (young) british players and having a team that makes up so much of the england squad and a team that doing it our way is in the ascendancy. i like the odd foreign player but arsenal imported their success, we're building ours. and if the youngsters work out that looks set to carry on for a while, MJ is pretty unique in that manner for a foreign manager.

Tho I cant't argue with the stats of what we've won etc..in the last 20 years..I have never felt and will never feel like im living in the shadow of the scum..I live in islington and am surrounded by them..but always show my colours and pride in being spurs...supporting a team goes beyond just winning trophies altho of course spurs have hugely underachieved compared to the scum....however if the right players come available so be it whoever they r from..but to sign from the arse..just to prove a point is madness...being spurs...going to the lane..the atmosphere and the fans is something i would never trade...trophies or not....

ok we have suffered mediocrity but if you could decide how you wanted to build a side, our young british contingent would be a dream to most fans. Ok we've had to wait, but it'll make the results even sweeter. I'm not dissin the scum for the hell of it, i still thought they were the best footballing side last year, although not when we played them. Arsenal fans have always snatched that soulless pride, when they cheated and fouled there way to boring titles under graham, they still rubbed our faces in it. But every english fan wants to watch good english players, and we have a good percentage of them. For the sake of saying we've taken a player off arsenal, i would only take henry or eboue, the rest you can keep. Those lovely foreign players don't have the same affiliation with the british league, and if they don't win league's and trophies, they won't want to stay, they are after all glory hunters.

NO NO NO

I'm sorry but I could never support a scummer in a Spurs shirt. Not even Henry, not even just to sell on. They stay on their side and we'll stay on ours. Hopefully.

so what was your opinion of George Graham - the man who provided our last trophy and our last european campaign? Did all spurs fans not celebrate because he used to get paid by the dark side? My point is if we snatched an arsenal player on a free then that would put to bed my pain at having lost Judas at the time. It was not so much the team he chose - it was more the fact that he let his contract run out so we got nowt for him. The decent thing to do was to let spurs know in advance he would not sign a new contract so at least we could have sold him for big money.

u can't really blame sol for what he did, if he'd been under contract the scum wouldn't have bought him and he wouldn't have filled his trophy cabinet, the mercenary little shit. i still find it hard to believe when he's a spurs fan though. I don't care for george graham at arsenal or spurs, we played average football.
The up side of sol going is we still have ledders, who is by far the better player, and he probably would have left to play more footy.

Agreed, we played boring, uninspired football. Very unlike the quality (at times) attractive footy we've been playing under Jol.

WHY WOULD WE WANT ANY OF THE GOON'S? THERE HISTORY IS FULL OF CRIME,UNDERHANDEDNESS,DRINK DRIVING(DONKEY ADAMS),RAPE (VAN PRESIE),DRUG TAKING(MERSON),MURDER'S (ALAN SUNDERLAND) AND PEEEEEDO'S (ARSE-N WHINGER,GRHAM RIX) SO WHY OH WHY WOULD WE WANT ANY PART OF THAT.

Fair enough it was Graham who got us the cup, but I can't not cheer a manager because he doesn't touch the ball. I never liked Graham and I never will, I didn't want him and wished we hadn't have got him. But I still cheered the team, the team never changed, it's name was always Tottenham Hotspur.

What a load of Pie this is!

Defoe plays for us, EVERYONE wants him to stay, and....HE'S A GOONER! So how is that any different to Graham managing us, or Campbell leaving or whatever bullshit everyone's whinging about. Spur's point is true, when we played the Worthy final it was TOTTENHAM we were watching, not Graham...so if someone is willing to work hard in a spurs shirt or for the cause, I don't care about their backgrounds as long as they put in the effort for the job at hand.

i can understand both sides of this arguement. on one hand i wouldnt want a goon helping us to victory but on the other it would be great to poach one of their top players. on thw whole id rather achieve success without a goon but i wouldnt turn down Van Perise & Eboue if they wanted to come. but wouldnt buy them though, only poach

i want spurs to succeed obviuosly , but in the spurs style of playing football . i wasnt happy with graham coming to the club but i realised at the time we needed a steadying of the ship , and i thought if he was there a couple of years he could put in place the groundwork , i .e a really solid defence that would then allow someone else to come in and provide the style we demand .
i think he saw it as a short term fix for both sides , mutually beneficial , and therefore i was a little disappointed with some of the attitude shown to him , even though i can completely understand .
as regards taking a player from them , well i can only see us ending up with their cast -offs and dont want that .

I think Jazzin's point is the 'psychological' aspect. If anyone here says they have not found it frustrating being so far behind the Scum for close to 15 years I'd be suprised.

By signing one of their top players it would be saying they are playing second fiddle to us and I for one would be delighted. How sick do think Arsenal fans are at the moment with Cole wanting to go to Chelsea?

I'd happily take an Arse player like Lauren.

All this bollocks of we don't need their shit is stupid, it's like the mentally of a small child (ricky) to stamp your feet at the prospect of purchasing Ex-scum material.
