Belgian starlet Sven Verdonck is on his way to Tottenham from Genk.
The 18-year-old has long been regarded as one of Belgium's hottest prospects and Spurs now look set to seal his signature.
Verdonck was given permission to talk with Spurs earlier this month and he has already agreed terms on a four-year contract.
Tottenham and Genk expect to complete talks in the coming week and Verdonck will almost certainly be in North London for pre-season.
Verdonck, who has played just nine first team games with Genk, rejected a move to England earlier in his career when Aston Villa were one of a host of clubs who tried to land him - but at that point he decided to remain in Belgium.
"PSV [Eindhoven], Cologne, NAC Breda, Roda, Twente and Aston Villa were in contact, but I had no interest in a transfer as I was happy in Genk," he said.
Spurs have now, though, managed to persuade Verdonck that his future is best served across The Channel and his move should be sealed in the near future.
Lets hope he's better than the last belgian starlet we bought, jonathon Blondel.
