I am pleased that every time I open a paper, broadsheet or rag, Spurs figure highly in transfer speculation. However, I think in the final analysis we could do with being a bit more circumspect in our dealings. Alerting other clubs to activity only encourages Dutch auctions, and the constant (and often spurious) linking of players to Spurs only increases the oft-held view that we cannot attract players...even if we had no interest in them in the first place.

I would be pleased in we signed Chimbonda, Zakora, Barry and another young centre-half until Davenport comes of age

The specualtion doesn't come from Spurs but from every man and his dog!

2 months ago, Manure was said to be preparing a bid of 8 million for Lennon. Why don't the press speculate that they have upped their bid to 20 million and since Barca doesn't seem to have a recognised right winger, are eying Lennon with a 25 million bid?

my concern is will our strikers be smart enough to get use from him, it never looked like happening in the second half.

The England strike force is so punchless that it may be better to play 4-1-5 and no recognised striker. This may draw out the opposing CDs; and diagonal balls over their heads could give Lennon the space to utilize his pace to force one-on- one situations.
