Their headline last nite read something like...

"Kiss goodbye to the World Cup, as Jermaine Jenas scored a goal even he couldnt miss against Belarus meaning Sven will probably decide to play him in Germany!"

Bastids.

Once Walcott and Sol and Hargreaves (who I don't actually mind) and Crouch and injured Rooney and David James and now the Liverpool 15th choice keeper and after last night's performance i'd also have to put Ashley Cole on here, were called up is when I said goodbye to the World Cup.

Also when we decided not to get rid of Sven earlier why he is on 4million a year I will never know.

Not to worry, I've already done the same for the next 2 or 3 tournaments for when we have the excellent Stevie Mac in charge.

Crouch is excellent and one of the most versatile centre forwards in a long time, you cant not take Rooney if theres a chance he'll play, David James is a superbly agile keeper whois a very capable back up, Carson has bags of potential and the experience will do him good. Ashley Cole is probably the best left-back in the world. Hargreves is a good squad player, very versatile and good to warm the bench. Granted the WC has come far too soon for Walcott who in my opinion is a right winger all day long but has explosive pace and will worry defenders. the only 1 you got was Campbell is finished and should not be in the squad.

For a striker who is 7 feet tall to be outjumped for a header is pathetic. Especially when that same striker who did I mention is 7 feet tall spurns a perfect heading chance by going at it with his foot. Not only that but offside? For a striker not to know he is offside is sad, especially when he is two yards from goal.

Thats just my opinion but a striker needs to be intelligent.

Owen Hargreaves is a good player, a few years a go he played instead of Beckham on the right and did excellently. But he is not better than other players who have been left out. you need another right-back you got Jamie Carragher. He is a dispensable member of the squad taking up a position better filled by someone else. Argue that.

James is a joke of a keeper. Simple as. A joke. Martyn, Green and Carson are all better than him I have no doubt.

Ashley Cole played poor last night. If he plays like that against any of the big teams he will be ruined. That cannot be denied. And no he is not the best left-back in the world.

Rooney is injured. You show me a world-class player who can get upto world-class fitness in three days and i'll shut up. But you can't because its impossible. Pointless taking three fit strikers. One is Crouch and one is Walcott. All we have up front is Owen. That's it. I''ve al;ready said your losing 1-0 then Crouch is ok to bring on with ten mins to go. But as our main striker your having a laugh! Excellent and versatile he most certainly is not.

Had Lampard or Gerrard scored that goal they would have been singing their praises.

I said the same yesterday under the SpursA v Belarus thread. He links up so well with Lennon that should he play for us, there would be a double right-sided menace. In fact when we signed Salty, I was already saying that Hargreaves, who is also a born Canadian would have been a better choice. He can also play in any defensive midfield position.
