I know he's an ex scummer , but he's out now. Am I alone in thinking that someone managing to gas him and his family in their own home so they slept while they burgled the place , is one of the most sinister things I've heard in a long time?

This is Italy we are talking about, the most corrupt and crime ridden country in Western Europe. I would n't be suprised if his security guards were complicit. Still, worse things go on in the world every day and I'm sure he is more than able to afford the cost of replacing whatever has been stolen. Isn't life a bitch when you're a professional footballer being paid millions of pounds a year, the sacrifices these guys have to make......

I wouldn't wish what happened to him and his family on anyone, so I wouldnt call it a come-uppance, but, since you asked, he and his family were gassed through the air conditioning in his OWN HOME in Italy, then robbed.

What sort of gas was it? There was a similar old Chinese trick used by burglars. In the olden days of wooden houses, they will stick in a thin, hollowed piece of bamboo and blow in the smoke of a specially concocted mixture they burnt. That would make those inside sleep like they've been anasthetised and only wake up in the morning feeling sick and seeing the house empty of anything worth anything.

Lets stop all this, ok he played for the scum but his family were involved so while we can't stand the guy lets not condone this behaviour of appreciating what the theives did. No no your right, but my point is if it happened to me he wouldn't blink at it. It is he who has caused me this pain over the last ten years which was only almost reversed this year, so thats why I feel no pity.
