Makes me think they will be funding some of this from the Chimbonda deal so hopefully that is in the process of going through.

Just a matter of interest, how much was the bid?

wigan have agreed an £8.5million deal for him and that does not mean it is being part funded by the sale of Chimbonda as they are owned by JJB money-bags Dave Whelan. the Chimbonda deal looks dead in the water, they wont budge on the £6million price tag and we wont pay it. we wont be held to ransom for him

Johnson at that price is a risk. I thought there was talk of our bid of 4.5 million plus Cerny was accepted.

no chance would simon jordan accept £4.5million and a keeper we cant even give them as he is only on loan to us anyway.

Maybe it was meant to be Fulop who they were interested in.

he had 1 good top-flight season and was nowhere near top scorer in the championship thi season so at £8.5million, palace must be laughing all the way to the bank

I'm just bloody glad that we didn't try to get Johnson.
I would have cried.

We tried last season, we offered 10mil or something like it.
I'm still half expecting us to go in with a late bid.
