Hard one to call our home form is shite well shit our away form is shite to so I guess we're just shite at the minute but Citehs away form is shite too.
Elano is out so Petrov is their only real threat whether Chimbo can deal with him or not remains to be seen. Their defence is good but as chelski showed they're capable of having a real clanger.
3-1 us Berby(2) & Bent

Chimbo is really gettin on my nerves lately he doesnt seem to care anymore that 34 year old anderlecht left winger made a monkey out of him think wat petrov will do...........
On a brighter note i tink we can get a narrow win with berbs 2 score. Hes back to sumthing like his best.

That's a game I'm very nervous about we could get embarressed against Pompey if we're not careful. They're taking no prisoners at the minute and their midfield is strong as feck. January can't get here quick enough to be honest.:(

To be quite honest I cant see us winning this because with all his shortcomings as an international manager Sven is a very good club manager and has got city doing well.

City's away record: 2 nil win at Wham in first game of the season. Since then, no wins, 6 nil loss at Chelsea and only got a draw at Wigan due to Bramble demonstrating his base uselessness. If we lose this, we are definitely in the relegation cart.

No.
One or two rumours suggest it's not as long term as some think, and he'll be back around Christmas. Other rumours suggest it is a long term injury, and he'll be out for 6 months but the Club will be getting a second opinion on Monday, hence the silence on the issue.

A good and much needed result for us, thank the Lord for small mercies.
The brightest points for me were the fact that Berbatov looked more interested than at any other time this season and Kaboul was defensively solid even if his distribution was shockingly bad. Sadly Bent looked less a £16 million striker and more 16 rupees, he really is lacking in confidence and more worryingly, talent. I'd like to see Defoe given a run of games in place of Bent, he's far more a threat to oppostion defences. Steeeeeeed was clearly MOTM, along with Lee I've rarely seen a player go for ineffective to effective more quickly, both have become almost faultless in their recent displays. Zokora had a poor game but he didn't really look 100% fit from up in the stands and it had an impact on Jenas game; Jermaine stared fairly brightly and looked to get forward, but on the half hour Zokora had a word with him after a long surge forward and he never really got forward after that. Still it was a good, disciplined performance from Jenas and he is fast being mentioned in the same breath as Messrs Lee and Malbranque in the East Upper.
A quick word about City. I was impressed with them as a team and some of their younger player good particularly promising. Michael Johnson strolled around the park like a Rolls Royce and his range of passing and vision was in evidence, I did realise he was such a big bloke though and he relly puts his size to good use; a future England regular for sure. Kelvin Etuhu down the City right gave a good leason on how to beat a man a cross a ball on a number of occasions and he really gave Lee a hard time (although Lee did nothing wrong). The other player who caught my eye was Gelson Fernandes, he gave a gritty and intelligent performance and used the ball well. My only grumble was that he left his foot in on every single challenge he went in for. Oh and Petrov would have been a great purchased for us, but then we knew that already.
So all in all it was a decent game and a better result, there are still signs of improvement but it's going to take more than one win to rebuild the players' shattered confidence.

It's all about getting a run going, not drawn games either, a set of wins, to be on 20 points before 2008 would be great, and I'll feel happier about our future in this division.

Sitting in the Paxton. i wondered what on earth Kaboul was doing wasting possesion like that. He did it at the start of the second half as well but now i understood a bit more. He glared at Bent. Which i could not see in the 1st half as he had his back to me. It was obviously something that they'd tried in training and he was expecting Bent to be there or thereabouts and he wasn't.
What was i was really encouraged about was Dawson taking charge of Kaboul. Even if things went awry like the long passes to Bent.He was there encouraging him all the time even if it was a little knock into touch just to make things safe. Well done Daws, be the Boss till the king returns

I don't know how you can say that. Etutu has played all of a hundred minutes or so and Johnston has been impressive, but not exactly amazing. Petrov and Elano have been sensational.
I didn't see Sunday's game but I have seen a few city games this year. I think Johnston has potential alright. He reminds me of a young Gerrard before he burst into a big player, but frankly I don't think he's in Elano's league at the moment.

Elano has been sensational in spits and spurts, Johnson has been a real revelation in the middle running the show when no-one else has been there - they have missed Didi recently after his early season show.
No-one is doubting who the better player is, just the one who has been more of a surprise and influence. Perhaps I am putting it out of proportion - perhaps not, I didn't mean the two have been world beaters but both players have shown real quality when called upon.
As it goes it just shows the quality of the City youth academy, they've turned it around in recent years so I hear and these are products from it.

Well from sitting in the East stand I thought City did nothing at all in the first half. They had a good spell for abouts 10 mins after their goal but all in all we deserved to win. Berbatov, Malbranque and Jenas were are best players on the day. Kaboul looked more steady and gave me some cause for encouragement despite wasting possession a couple of times. Lennon and Bent were probably the most dissappointing on the day for me. It should of been 3-1 to the Spurs in all honesty.

First game of the season for me great win, but I thought Bent, Kaboul and Chimbonda were terrible and need to be sent packing.
