I keep hearing about a horror tackle in the Celtic v Benfica game. Ive had talksport and five live on a fair bit today and they have been going on about it, calling it one of the worst challenges they've ever seen. Everybody seems to be calling for Uefa to take a look at it and throw the book at Binya.
Did anyone see it?

YEH it was like Roy Keane on Alfie Inge Harland and **** all was done about that so therefore nothing should be done about this, but it will be cos the guy who done it is black and not a national hero , where as at the time Roy Keane was a **** of a thug but white and on his way to becoming a hero and unfortunately whilst the fans cant be racist, the fat blokes that 'run' the sport can be.
So i expect a 6 match CL ban at least. and quite right to , just wish theyd be more consistent

It was a very deliberate stamp around knee height. Horrible, horrible tackle, his leg was bent back and twisted and everything. Straight red. It's amazing he's not badly injured. He just limped off and word is he's okay.
If it had been Dyer he'd be in a wheelchair for life.

I'm not defending his tackle, but Haaland stood over him when he did his cruciate and called him a cheat repeatedly, even though he was in agony and being carried off. You don't do that to honest players, and doing it to the hardest bastard that ever played the game is asking for trouble.

what has that got to do with it?? So Haaland was right, Keane cheated loads of times for Forest and Man U.
Now if Keane WAS honest and really WAS the hardest bastard that ever played the game you may have a bit of a point, but hes not and hes not , so you dont. :D

i wouldnt call him a cheat , he played the game hard ( not as hard as the 60s n 70s ) but i thought he was pretty fair . he took some bad , hard knocks and gave out a few as well but i cant remember him whining about it , just getting on with the game .
ok he would dish out retribution and revenge, the haarland incident most notably , but even then he was actually quite honest about it in his autobiography when he could have stayed quiet as he was still playing .
oh for a player like that at spurs

Err here's a wake up call. Keane was an over rated bully boy ****. Period. I saw him run scared from Stefan Freund more than once when he realised Freund wouldn't roll over with his legs in the air. Bully, pure and simple, same goes for Viera, boot the pair of them early on you wouldn't get a peep out of them. And they where both overly protected by the referees.

That is a shocking statement, I'm not a fan of Keane and what he did was disgraceful, but for Haaland to stand over him and call him a cheat was wrong as well, and was'nt Keane fined and suspended anyway to bring race into it is just ridiculous, the tackle on Brown was a disgrace and no matter what colour yer man was the book should be thrown at him.

I don't think keane has got over the punishment staurt pearce gave out to him at forest!
I think what keane done was no different to what a thug does on the street, simple as there one thing of being fair and honest and then there just unprofessional!
I hate players who go all out to hurt a player i remember micheal essiens tackle on hamman and that was ****ing digusting!

I've never met anyone who can get things so completely assways so consistently. It's quite amazing.
You are also the type of person who would have a 360 degrees different opinion if he was English. I can accept people calling him a thug, but he was never a cheat. When did he cheat, dive or tell the ref to book a player?
And I think thug is harsh anyway. That tackle was awful, but I have no sympathy for Haaland. If he stood over me and called me a cheat he'd have gotten a bang off me, for sure.
If you played fair with Keane then it was just a ding dong and a battle. If you called him a cheat or tried to break his leg the he was going to come after you. That's why Viera and Keane respected each other. They were both warriers, but they had an honour about them. That's just the way they were. Spurs could do with a warrier.

What punishment? Stuart Pearce was one of his heroes. He talks glowingly of him in his book. He said Pearce was a man amongst boys at Forest. A lot of people don't know the real Roy Keane. He got such bad press in England.

That's a pretty skewed opinion that you have for some reason. Roy Keane never ran scared away from anyone, get a grip. Maybe he respected Freund because he just gave as good as he got and got on with it. It's logical if you hit them they will have less physical domination. It's just basic logic.

That's it mate. He wasn't as tough as some people in the 70's purely because of the change in rules. He'd have been one of the hardest in any era though because he thought of football as a war as well as a technical game and he gave all he had to win.

Hey make no mistake i love roy keane one of my footballing heroes but what he did was just thuggish.
