I heard a rumour that Murphy and Jol have had a falling out ever since Murphy kept trying to walk away from Jol on the touchline as he was given instructions and Jol had to keep grabbing him and make him pay attention.

So much so that Murphy was not one of the ill players against West Ham and still he did not play.

With us after Chimbonda it seems like this might be the perfect deal involving some cash and a player swap.

If I am honest, never understood why we signed Murphy and he should have come to us the first time.

murphy's a confodence player and if he isnt wanted and playing regularly at a club then he will not be anywhere near as good as he can be. this is why he's been so poor for us and he's never going to be a regular so why not get rid of him before his market value majorly drops. the quicker we sign up chimbonda the better as he's likely to start for france and have a good WC so we need to get him sighned up a.s.a.p.

i don't think we'd ever lose money on murphy, his ability and experience would always be good value in the prem, i mean fulham just paid 2.5m for bullard who's much the same type of player. It was a strange buy tho, hope he goes and hudds stays.

Not going to be sorry to see Murphy go, he has to rank up there with Rasiak as one of our worst buys under Jol reign, never saw the point of him other than a bench warmer, as sundance (hippy, by chance???) says we sell Mendes and buy Murphy??? I'm not so sure this would be good business - how much did we pay for Mrphy? £4mm? If it's a straight swap for Chimbonda then I can see the point (we avoid all those appearence related fees and get a first team player), but if it's Murphy plus cash we're going to look real mugs.
