hope they win the play of final as i think they deserve some luck. I also think it's terrible that players like fowler are still getting paid for 3 years ago. He can't be that hard up. Nowhere near as skint as leeds anyway.
Lets hope our revenues remain on the up to cover the likes of ledders and berby's wages.

As hard as Leeds have been to love over the years, you have to feel abit sorry for them. The decisions made by the old board seem beggar belief - Geoff Boycott's mum could have done a better job as MD...

The Premiership won't be a brighter place for LUFC's delightful supporters, but you wouldn't wish what's happened to their club on anybody but Arsenal...

Leeds are one of my most hated teams as their only tradition is dirty play.

i think its shameful that players are still taking money from leeds who dont play there anymore especially Fowler as he is the wealthiest premiership footballer, he's almost as rich as Beckham. i hope Keano & Robbo arent still collecting paychecks from leeds. i hope leeds do get promoted as they will be the whiping boys next season, Watford wont be, not at all.

What does Fowler do tobe that rich. Surely his football doesn't merit that. Does he keep fowl as a sideline?

he heavily invested in property before the boom and has made a hell of a lot of the property market

he was always a top earner at liverpool and he's been in that bracket since. i can understand that it's not his problem, but when the club is selling everything they have to keep going, just let them off man. He doesn't need it that bad, and he's still earning now.

Although i agree he probably doesn't need the money, he is in a contract with Leeds, and by law he is entitled to that paycheck! You can't really blame Fowler for the contract, you really need to look at the board!

I agree with AndyHarker on this point.

I'm not sure but when Keano joined didn't leeds have to pay half his wages? Anyway hes signed a new contract so at least they dont now. I do feel for Leeds a little bit but you have to ask yourself, would they care if we went bust? did they care when we nearly went out of business? the answer NO! All i can say to Leeds is Thanks for Keano (7m), Robbo (1.5m) and especially Aaron lennon (1m). Typically yids to take advantage of someones misfortunes, still 9.5 million well spent me thinks.

I've never been very fond of Leeds but theres something wrong when teams with real history start doing badly. Its a shame to see teams like Leeds and especially Nottingham Forest stuggling outside of the top tier.

How much do you reckon that 9.5 million is worth now? Surely upwards of 35 million.

they have to be worth.....lets see...... Robbo's on a seven year contract and hes the best goalkeeper in the country so hes worth lets say 10-12m. Robbie keano is priceless but we know them yiddo's everyone has a price, 15m? Aaron Lennon has just signed a new deal and could be a superstar in the future so his value has got to be.....10m. I make that about 35-37m in total.

Yeah so your right, a great bit of business by spurs!!!!!

i do agree about his contract, or perhaps the ineptitude of those on the board. But i love me spurs and can feel for any fan who could have lost the entire club like that. It said on the news today that when leeds put the tickets up for the play off final tomorrow, they had 105.000 applicants. That's bloody amazing man. I know they have some bad fans like most clubs (liverpool have been causing mayhem this year) but for a club with a strong history, not unlike our own, it deserves some help. The players like fowler and danny mills , can't remember the others, are out playing somewhere else for christs sake. paying 16m a year over you current squads payroll is nuts.

It shows what mis-management can do to a club. I never thought i'd ever say this about a managing director at spurs but i'm glad we have Levy!!!!!

I think the problem with most clubs is that tne Directors and Chairmen know f_ _ _ k all about football and have to rely on hangers on like Pleaty. Luckily Levy saw through him and got rid of him.

Hmmm...hard to see myself budging from the fence on this issue. Fowler doesn't need the money and it would certainly be heartening to hear that he and others allowed Leeds to tear up the contracts.

Sadly, as hard as it is for us mere mortals to imagine, Fowler's own investments and financial plans will have been based in part around the lucrativity of his Leeds contract. If your boss offered you a deal like that, would you really turn it down?

Stupid, stupid contracts... But you can't blame anyone for signing them..can you?

keano has half his wages payed by leeds for 5 years since he signed for us.
robbo has all his wages payed by us. got that from my father-in-law who's been a leeds season ticket holder for 45 years. he's still not happy about it!!

Why are Leeds paying players who don't play for them? Who the hell allowed anyone to write up contracts like these? I can't blame any players because they are all human, and if I was offered the same I would take it. Salary and transfer limits must be introduced, IMO. For example, a £10 million max spend on 1 player, and no player should be allowed to earn more than £20-30K a week. This would also ensure players went to teams they wanted to play for rather than where the money is, as in a situation such as Chelsea and United both going for Robben, they both can't offer more than 10M to his club, and no more than 20-30K a week. then he goes to the team he wants to play for.

it is a shame that this is happening but on the subject of salarie capping/abolishing transfer fee's im not sure if im convinced. it may lead to a lot more bribs and back-handed payments and plus i like the fact that we can go out buy a player ahead of clubs due to our status which if this did come into play, would go down a bit

Something has to be done IMO, today I read that Arsenal rejected TWO £50 MILLION bids for Henry....it's ridiculous.
