Its that time of year again, Hundreds of completely Fabricated stories flooding the back pages of the red topped papers. Unlike most clubs, Spurs seem to go out about their business very quietly and most of the time the first we hear about a transfer once its completed. One transfer story that i read this morning really intersted me, it is reported that Spurs are favourites to sign out of contract Jay-Jay O'kocha. I think this would be a great signing, admittedly he would be a bench player but he is capable of giving us something completely different when were struggling to break down one of the tighter teams .
I definatley think this would turn out to be a very shrewd bit of business, give him a one year deal with the possibilty of a years extension.

No no no no no! Past-it, had his best season in 04-05 for Bolton and didn't do enough last year to get a new deal, why are we being linked to players with no future?

yer if we want to use a playmaker in the middle use reid instead, he'll be much cheaper and better than okocha. he was really poor last year.

Oh No! please no! We don't want a player that can hardly get a game for Bolton FFS!

Not that I want Jay Jay unless he can run as fast as a Blue Jay. But on any day, he's still faster than Reidie.

Although SurreySpur has a point, we could do with someone like Jay-jay (the jj of two years ago though) it would certainly not be jj himself! Not 100% certain of this but hasn't he only scored one in the last two years???

Come on guys, why are you stressing so much? When you become a football writer you are given a book of rules and regulations concerning every aspect of the trade. In the chapter entitled "Idle Speculation" the first rule is stated quite clearly

All players the world over who are believed or known to be either unhappy, nearing the end of their contract or up for sale MUST be linked to Tottenham Hotspur. You should aim to link Spurs with at least two players per week, regardless of any factual evidence or plausibility

yer, think man utd will snap him up for keane replacement. Actually Bolton's gardner is a good player, wonder if we could sneak him out from under their noses, especially as they have no euro footy.

Indeed I am! However, I have always fallen out with the Professors of Sports Editors, for attitudes such as these..

All Sunday broadsheets must give a known Arsenal supporter a weekly column in which to wax lyrical about their club in a totally biased and sickening manner. The same columnist should also be allowed to report on all north London derby matches.

Readers of The Observer on Sunday will be more than familiar with this policy...

I read today that Jay-Jay was going to snapped up by Man United, as Keane's replacement.

Sell Murphy for a couple of mil and bring in JJ on a free? Sounds like decent business to me, a better player, more end product, inspirational, hits a mean deadball, strong as an ox. Only draw back, slight worry about age so sign on a one year contract with option to renew.

Yeah, I can really see why this is a bad idea!!!

Will only consider JJ if he costs nothing and is paid no more than 25000a week as strictly a squad member.

£25K a-week for a questionable 32-year old who's only going to be a squad member? Shit, I'd love to work for you!

we should be utilising hudds, if hoddle and peter taylor say he's one of the best passers they've ever seen, we could do with him playing.

Next season I would like to see last year's fringe talent pushed into the first team, using the Carling Cup especially, but also giving them confidence by dropping any out-of-form players and putting them in, even if it's in the league, as young ambitious players like hudds can only take heart from perhaps coming in to face Arsenal alongside Carrick, coz Jenas is injured. (for arguments sake) Show the managers faith in him.
