The problem with this season as i see it:

Poor start away to Sunderland, to be fair this result could have happened to any team going to a newly promoted side who are cheered on by football fanatics. Last minute winner thats the beauty of footy anything can happen (unless your a Spurs fan!!)

We then have another fairly unlucky, result against Everton, a couple of deflected goals. Not too worried, shouldnt be too much of a problem, the team just needed to buckle down for the next game. We thrash Derby. Great, or not so great as the board decide to destabalise the club and thrust us into the spotlight, undermining the manager, and undoubtedly the players...This spotlight contiinued with the club saying nothing, and therefore adding credit to all the media hype and gossip. An unlucky loss to a Man U side away, who we practically played off the park, and should have beaten. Fulham away, seasons past a draw would have been respectable for us, and although we got one, the manner of their (****ing) flukey equaliser, left the kind of bitter taste in your mouth that you would expect after a cheese and marmalade sandwhich.

You feel the team is getting some rhythm and i was positive comming into this game. But we had a 2 week break, which effectively was like starting the season again today. If this game had come sooner, then im sure we would have got a result from it.

Now we have a situation where there is much gloom and depression, but we have a thick and fast run of games comming up. I think this is where we will hit a purple patch. We can just get on and play a game every other 3 days and let the team settle.

If the board sack Jol now then we will be rudderless and in big trouble. After all I see most of this sticky mess, not as Jols but as the boards.
Lets not lose faith, not be fickle. If we can remain positive then we will see this bad run through and still go on to have a great season.

If we continue to stick behind the team, and the board dont do anything stupid, im sure it will all come right. Its not like weve been woeful this season, we've had more than our fair share of bad luck, and key injuries. I think the season starts here for us next game home to Famagusta.

I love Spurs and its going to take more than a garlic breathed *****phile and his bunch of foreign mercenaries to knock us off track.

COYS:)

Well, apart from saying we were unlucky against Everton (We weren't, we were shit) that was a great post.

But no matter what happens from now, even if we do hit form...this result will not go away, this is the game that will hurt us. It's happened too many times, it's beyond a joke.

I still think the board have already got a replacement lined up......

Martin Jol's bizarre team selections, unwilling to drop players who aren't performing (Robbo), perserverance with Championship level players (Malbranque/Jenas), unwilling to take any sort of risk and clueless tactics at times.

If he learned from his mistakes, became more ruthless in letting players now they're place isn't guaranteed, and dropping them when they're going through a bad spell, took more risks and sold Jenas/Malbranque, i'm certain we'll see a better Spurs!!

Lastly, why does he tell the team to sit back when we go 1-0 up???

More to the point, why do we sit back when we're a goal up against THEM

Josh, look at the facts - 4 points(3 from a side that PP is already paying out on as relegated) from 18. Did you see the game at Sunderland? Spurs were just going through the motions. GLS summaried the Everton game very well. The Fulham game did it for me. Everyone who saw it said Spurs could have won 12 nil(a great exaggeration but 6 wouldn't have been a complete discrepancy), yet we hung on at 3-1 and could even have lost it! Yes, amazing as that sounds, we could have.

One thing is that the board has completely undermined Jol. I think that has shown in this season's performances. We won't recover from that. I don't support sacking managers during a season but at this stage we're entering a crisis.

I wouldn't say it has affected performance. The first two games were the worst, and then we put in some much better performances after that. But it's generally the little things and the big things that remain that have left us open to such results and disasterous 'luck' in the games.

I mean I have to say as soon as I saw the sunderland game I thought this is the same shit as the start of last year. Same bullshit selection mistakes and coaching and straight away I had alarm bells that we would have a similar year and maybe even worse as eventually players and fans etc, do get fed up of bullshit and then it spirls into the shambolic stuff and crisis. Plus the league is stronger this year.

I'm not claiming to be psychic but I saw this coming even before the boards amateurish way of sounding out Ramos. And if you think about it why were they sounding out Ramos after two games anyway? Wasn't it because Jol had brought it on himself, with the unbelievable back to last year's errors in selection and so on?

I mean anyone's tenure usually ends with outside influences further aggrevating the situation anyway. But it ended up like that in the first place because the manager got himself into a royal mess to begin with.

So I do agree that if it hasn't affected us already, it will aggrevate the situation, but the way I see it a similar situation was in store for Jol anyway, just maybe slightly later.
