We're pressing the self destruct button by sitting back, it's just a matter of time before they score.

KEEP ATTACKING SPURS!!!!

That's the problem we don't keep our foot on the accelerator for more than 10 mins, we're being really stretched by The Scum.

Great free kick by Bale though, what a signing he has been!!

Having to listen to it on the radio, not a single stream works for me.

Oh wait it was me! Only joking, working well though.

As for Spurs, it's only a matter of time until we concede two embarrassing and quick goals, we're sitting back far too much. My brother just said to me we're sitting back for half time, I said I think we're holding out for the 90!

Robbo seems on form, good to see. The midfield is very easily walked through - yet again or so it seems.

spursmadnick06

jrio
15th September 2007, 02:27 PM
Look as though we'll concede a goal so need at least another. Just seen Bale's goal. Very good but Almunia looked flat-footed and I'm sure we'd have criticised Robbo for letting it in. Jenas playing in the defensive role letting Hudd, who looks leaner and fitter, get forward and is the pivot of our attacking play. From what I've seen Arse have had a lot of chances - saw the one that Flamini(?) hit the bar from Hleb's pass with and thought it was a goal. I'm afraid I'm expecting an Arse equaliser midway throught the 2nd half.

But if were going to get a win today we need a second coz i cant see arsenal going another 45mins without scoring! Give Keano another 15mins then bring on bent to cause them a different sort of problem.

The stream just permanently paused for mre, so I had to go out of it and now it says: "no peers to connect to"

Oh well, the radio is doing a good job of commentating on the match and i'll try to watch it on the link if it comes back on.

Under no circumstances must we just defend, they've got players who could pass the ball through the eye of a needle and have long shot specialists in Van Persie, Fabregas and Rosicky.

ATTACK SPURS!! It's the best form of defense against them.

Berba had a shot cleared off the line... luck is not on our side 2day, i'm very scared now.

From what I saw he was playing well, sitting behind Hudd and made an interception on Clichy in the 1st half for a chance.

Ive been pro-jol pretty much since he started but my confidence in him has been fading since around x-mas time last year, this is the first time i've said it but i think he has to go now. It's not just about the result today...

it's about what the board did, the media and everyone talking about us being a top 4 team and pushing Arsenal down into 5th.

Today, we got beat 3-1 at home by Arsenal and frankly they deserved it. We simply are not good enough.

If Jol is not sacked, I think he might even walk because you know the media are just going to love this. I think it is even effecting the players now.

Whatever happens, this will be Jol's last season for sure.

we usually do put chance away, the forwards are not a problem for us. its rare that they let us down. however they picked a bad time to today

i cannot work out whats going on with spurs at the minute. we ALWAYS concede goals either from
(a) poor defending from set peices/crosses OR
(b) wonder goals from outside the box where we ALWAYS back off the attacker

now that is because either Jol/Defensive coach aren't training the defence properly, which is bizarre because its only basic training!!

the players are told what they are doing wrong but don't learn so are a bunch on dum f*cks!

peterc, even for a teenager, you're really a class A moron. The manager is in control of all team affairs. Therefore what you see is what you get. The disharmony between board and management has undoubtedly contributed but the points total says it all. 4 FROM 24. Bye Bye Big Martin Jol. You've done us proud and made us a big club again, made us play with zip, flair and got us back into Europe. But like Keegan with Newcastle, you've gotten us as far as you can. You're frankly barking substitutions, questionable tactics, and inability to select players other than your favourites can no longer be ignored. I feel that you have been dealt an unfair blow by the board in recent weeks, which may have effected your judgement, and as such are just waiting to be sacked, or leave yourself.

It's time for our Mourinho I feel. We have a squad that threatens to topple giants, yet they are directionless and without motivation. Time to give them some.

As for the game itself I shall put myself through the agony of Football First tonight so as to get a true gauge of the performance, and make a more balanced view. But I feel that regardless of what my final assessment is, where the root of the problem may lie, that result will simply not go unnoticed after this seasons poor start, and Jol has just seen over his last Spurs game.

However, if Jol is to go then I say the whole lot of the coaching staff should go as well. Fresh start.

well...it wouldn´ t be fair to put all blame to MJ for today´s bad performance.. Strikers should be also kicked in the ass...but the main reason I´ d like to see Jol been sacked is his unbelievable stupidity to not give chance to Taraabt, and putting Mal as a winger and Jenas in midfield when is obvious that both do not deliver any good in team´ s performance, only vice versa...so, any manager whose team is playing badly is trying to change something, but wtf is with Jol ???...he is continuously making same mistakes... They didn't win(neither did United there) but can you see the consistency? Can you see the consistency in Spurs? 3-1 up against Fulham after an hour and finishes 3-3. 1-0 up against Arsenal after an hour and it finishes 1-3.

My point was that no part of the side is doing the job properly, I do agree with you that The strikers aren't scoring, although the midfield aren't controlling games and the defence have no confidence because for the last 30mins of games the ball is continually coming at them with zero ****ing resistance.

Every single part of the team is to blame, and its scary, we've spent so much money but have seemingly nothing to show for it. Im sick of my ****ing weekends being ruined by this ****ing team.

S.A.B.F.Y.H

Agree totally with u mate the defence is under so much pressure its unreal the defending starts from the front and it's not happening. I cant remember a game where we've dominated he middle apart from the derby game then again i could have dominated that game.

The whole team has been shit this season, not one of the units have played the way we know they can. Bad players?.....Possibly, Bad management?........Possibly, A mixture of both?.........YES.

I agree..

But utimately it comes down to one man - Da Manager

Yes the strikers have been shite, yes the midfield have ****ed up several times and yes Jol has made some really bad tactical errors and thats where it all stops - with Jol.

We can debate this til the cows come home but Jol will pay the price for all of the players failings on the pitch - weather they be one on one's with the keeper or not.

Keano, answer this. Yet again another clean sheet for Liverpool. Where does that come from, considering that Benitez was rightly mocked for his faith in zonal defending("Zones don't score goal"). They didn't win(neither did United there) but can you see the consistency? Can you see the consistency in Spurs? 3-1 up against Fulham after an hour and finishes 3-3. 1-0 up against Arsenal after an hour and it finishes 1-3.

Can you see it? It's. all. down. to. the. manager.

Jrio answer me this if

Berbatov scores his 1 on 1 and

Keano scores his 1 on 1 and

Bent scores his 1 on 1

what would the score have been?

The midfield did a good job of battling, getting tackles in, not giving them alot of time on the ball, and creating chances for our shit strike force to miss. Look at the ball Jenas played through to Bent at the end it was a beautiful chip pass but Bent fluffs it. Hudd, Malbr, and Bale all got stuck in too, but the strikers were shite.

This is Arsenal we're talking about, they're going to creat chances and most likely score a goal or 2 that's why when you get clear cut chances like the 4 or 5 we had today you need to bury them.

Anyone read MJ´ s post match interview... this is from BBc web site
Tottenham manager Martin Jol:
"We should've killed them off but we didn't take our chances. "We should have scored to go 2-0 up and then conceded from a set-piece but at 1-1 we had a good opportunity and then at 2-1 down we had two good chances. "We took the game to them and created chances. But they were clinical and that was the difference."

Keano, can't answer most of this because the feed failed in the 2nd half and I had to rely on the radio. Seems as though Arse created at least as many chances if not more than we did. But isn't this issue of failing to take chances mainly an Arse issue? How many times in games did they create 25 chances yet lose or draw games? Our issue is the defending, mainly from the midfield. 3 clean sheets in 34 games. Says it all.

If strikers score goals it gives the rest of the team confidence and something to build on and defend i agree, but to blame the strikers for the defeat is nonsense when NOTHING in the side is working properly. Defenders struggling to defend, midfield just plain struggling and the strikers not scoring. Adebayor missed 1 easy chance and Diaby hit the bar yeah but one of our defenders was all over Hleb it wasn't clear cut like all 3 of our 1on 1 opportunities. Fact of the matter is if our "world class" strikeforce had of scored their 3 simple chances we woulda probably won that game.

You might have noticed we're not sitting in a pub and so the same parallels do not apply. Do you seriously think if we all were that I'd point across, assuming peterc had brought his mother along(apparently dead) and accuse her of not sending him to school? Get a grip.

I think Jol's attitude is naive. It's a HUGE disappointment today. I don't think he really knows just how big. An absolute HUMILIATION to lose to them at home. This season was supposed to be about us, and how they - without Henry - were supposed to sink. Instead, they yet again wipe the floor with us, make the team look stupid and more importantly, make the fans look utterly STUPID for having hope that this might be the time we beat them.

They are only 11 men, only human, yet we put them on such high pedestals that we'll simply never beat the ****s. This inferiority complex that we have will ALWAYS prevent us from being a top team.

Jol has to answer for this. He can't run, he can't hide....he made have his P45 at the end of the day, and it was those ****s who did it to us. I feel sick to my stomach!

Oh BTW...insults to someones mother is a disgrace. I won't tolerate, neither will Peter.

mjb, that's just pathetic. Should anyone apologise for some imagined upset? How do you know this loser even has lost his mother recently? I'd wager he hasn't. He's using it to disguise his own shortcomings. Personally, I find that disgusting and reprehensible.

I could highlight life-threatening illnesses in my own family(here's one and actually true - my sister suffered a severe stroke 2 months ago and is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Warwick, where she is still paralysed on her left side, and has little mental competency). Do you seriously think that if you had mentioned my sister in a post I'd have come all over with the vapours? Of course not. I know you don't know my sister or any member of my family.

Frankly, pc's shortcomings are shown quite clearly when he issues an ultimatum to me(apparently MJ doesn't respond to those either). Remember the loser in Atlanta's similar threat that I posted here several weeks ago? Didn't respond to that either, but I'm sure he's equally happy boasting to his "friends" that I was a "chicken".
