He's actually worth 85m, in your terms, but we thought we got a great deal for 6.8m.....

Toon fans chanting "Mido, and he's got a bomb". When he scored, he was quite restrained. Just put a finger to his lips and got booked! Fair play to Southgate, he played against him and knows his true worth.

The actual chant was

"Mido! He's got a bomb you know!"

which I think is pretty funny but as a private joke, not as something to be directed at an opposition player during a match. Newcastle should be fined.
I hate them anyway, even more so now they have that fat **** in charge. He'll be off as soon as McClaren's sacked anyway.

The "Mido is a *****" chants relate to the Cleveland child abuse scandal of a few years back, which despite being somewhat tasteless, really do need to be seen in the context of local rivalry. After all, we're all quick enough to chant similar things relating to Arsene Wenger's alleged sexual predilictions and would be up in arms if we were ever called to account for it.

However, the Mido/bomb chants are not acceptable at all and should be dealt with accordingly. Racism and anti-Islamic feeling are rife enough in this country without chants like that being taken in a light-hearted manner - the FA should come down on Newcastle in the same way as they should come down on Chelscum everytime they let fly with their latest piece of anti-semetic filth. However, as much as Geordies do my nut in (for those who weren't already aware) I refuse to believe that those songs were meant to cause hurt and offence in the same way as some of the chants we are forced to hear are. Misguided and irritating though they may be, Geordies are usually a pretty decent bunch and I'm sure they didn't mean to cause quite as much offence as they did.

As for the yellow card, I seem to recall plenty of players responding to opposing fans with a finger-to-lip gesture without censure or warning (or indeed as a result of racial provocation), so I don't see why Mido had to get his details taken. It's that word that refs really need to look up in the dictionary that is lacking - consistency.

Stupid booking. But I agree Geordies are generally a decent bunch, if not he brightest. I like the constant 'mun' sayers.

Does Wenger have peudo rumours, really? I thought it was just becuase he 'looks' like one, lol. And I'd only privately call him that as a joke, it a disgusting thing to publicly call a guy a child rapist who isn't one.

Think the fact that boro were actually at home, meaning Mido had to run a way to get to the tiny band of away supporters had something to do with it.
