If that's the case then he just doesn't give a toss anymore does he? As long as he keeps himself in Smoke and Pancakes he'll just carry on so he doesn't have to work too hard.

Why am I still bricking it about tonights game?..am really nervous and think we will have to score at least twice tonight as I just cant see us keeping a clean shit..particularly if big Tony is involved from the start...we know how Everton play away from home..4-5-1..using johnson's pace on the counter..please Tony dont be bringing him down anywhere near our penalty area...first goal tonight is crucial...Everton score first and they will be tremendously difficult to break down....we score first and confidence will breed..lets hope thats the case.

Bollocks. If we score first we'll probably sit back and expect to win only to concede somewhere between 80 and 90 mins and drop another 2 points.

Bollocks...we'r playing at home...I would agree with you if it were an away fixture or against a top four side at home..

Well we managed to lose to them when it was 0-0 after half hour and they played an hour with ten men and still managed to stick two past us, trust it will be typical Spurs, lets be real, Everton are rivals for best of the rest and I can't see Jol having the balls to tell them to go for as many goals as poss. I could go with the notion of getting ourselves two up then easing off the gas a bit. This side should be notching up 3 goals in every few games, we should be expecting around 10 goals+ a month from them....

Well if thats the case the home support will be going mental..if we'r 1-0 up and sit back and invite them on to us. They beat us 2-0 last season..thats my point..they scored first and our very good defensively hence hard to break down..they did it to Arsenal last season. If they get a goal first you can bet they'll become even more defensive as the games goes on...it will be eleven men behind the ball and it will require something special to score..Everton play this type football very well..if we score first they will have to come out and attack which will leave more space for the likes of Bent to exploit..that will suit us...so I stand by my original point that the first goal could prove to be important.

LARGELY UNCHANGED!!!! FFS the only player who earned his place in the team tonight was Kaboul. Typical Jol worrying about what Everton can do rather then playing to our strengths. I dont know about you guys but I've started to question the big man ability in regards to taking us to that next level. I know your gonna say it been only one game into the season but I was thinking this for about 6 months now.

Well, we've lost tonight then.

Martin stop being a **** and ****ing put some actual wingers into the starting XI, Tarrabat has to be on the LW he was brilliant in pre season and stick Routledge on the rw (at least he has pace unlike Malbranque).

Agree with WelshSpur on this one. We go 1/2 goals up and our game has finished. Numerous examples, but the one that sticks out for me was Arsenal in the Carling Cup last year. 2-0 up and cruising, so we go defensive instead of going for the killer 3rd and inevitably got pegged back and lost the tie.

Surely he is having a laugh........perhaps he is trying to lul the toffee's into a false sense of security !! ;)

Jol is a comic genius....timing is everything !!

Had me worried for a minute there "largely unchanged" good one !!

Not even he can be that stupid !!.......... can he ??

If he names the same side then he clearly has made an error, we must have some inventive players on the pitch or we'll suck

so what were going to do then is lump the ball down the field, piss Berb off some more, wait for our inevitable defensive mistake(s).....& all this against a better side than sundireland,my confidence grows by the minute:rolleyes:

If he does go with the same side i'll be well pissed regardless if we win as expected

Due to the fact that some players in that team shouldn't be playing END OF but he has his fave's and it's always gonna be like that Jenas will ALWAYS play when fit and that grates me more than anything he's a poor mans dyer and thats when dyers injured lol

Yeah but look at the opposition your quoting..I was talking about tonights game specifically...we all know that we sit back against the better sides..as BMJ's tactitics and subs normally reflect this line of thinking! Self-fulfilling prophecy normally for us! When BMJ beleives we should win Spurs normally play with more belief and freedom..when he doubts we can win his subs and tactics normally demonstrate this..it obvioulsy feeds through to the players and probably affects the overall performance...just the way I see it!

You are perfectly entitled to question.

That he would start the side he did on Saturday, is a huge question mark over his ability, end of story.

It doesn't matter if it's one game, and it ain't anyway, because he did it at the start of last year too. And then bemoened creativity afterward.

What did you expect MJ? Flying wing play from Tainio and Mal and Jenas to be playmaker?

You have got to question whether a top manager would have started that side, ever. And you've got to question whether a top manager would have learned from his same glaring errors last season.

As far as I'm concerned he's now had time, money and he's had time to develop the young uns into guys who know what to do.

Yes, he deserves the chance, but if he doesn't deliver now then he's simply not good enough.

The inside word seems to be Bent in for Tainio is the only change. Sounds like a diamond midfield with Keane at its head. That would be an encouraging move but completely baffling to understand that Gardner is preferred to Rocha.

i hope hes not gonna do this to prove a point, theres pride and theres pride, and one of em comes before a fall. if hes trying this to demonstrate that saturday the blame lay with the players and not him by hoping the same players in the same positions can win a game, then we're probably fooked. the only justification is that theres some issues with some squad players that are forcing his hand, but i find this unlikely and unreported. can it really be that the manager hasn't the confidence in players hes signed himself? the whole thing is very bizarre, but i'm reserving judgment till after the match (trying to anyway)....

but if this is true and it blows up in his(and our) face again, the B in BMJ is gonna stand for somthing else... Bungling

Well that sounds much better already.

But yes, why go with Gardner again? Aside from Rocha's size he is very good. And Kaboul is a beast, so it's not like we will be too small.

Totally agree with all you have said Choda, I dont think theres been any other manager of spurs in the last 15 years who has had the financial backing Big MJ has had.

Another thing I have to question is why the hell cant we kill games off?

We go one up and its like, ok lets defend what we've got. Then I think is it the players mentality and nothing to do wth Jol or is it all down to Jol. We are badly lacking someone you can get the game by the scuff of the neck and drive us forward. All of the top 4 have or had had them in the past. Man Ure had Roy Keane, Chelshit have Terry / Lampard, Arsenal had Vieria / Henry and Liverpool have Gerrard. Dont get me wrong Ledley King is a wonderful player but is he an inspirational captain? So the way I see it is you have Jol standing on the sidelines with his arms crossed for most of the game and Ledley (when he plays) organising everything very well but is not one to bollock players. So who's the drive driving force at Tottenham, well my answer would be no-one!!!!

Who said i'm not interested? i've just seen it all before, if we win this match comfortably then Jol's a genius and the Sunderland game is forgotten, it's ok to have a discussion but to blindly rant without even seeing the team first is a bit too much in my opinion, but i'd never stop people from discussing or letting there opinions be known, i'm just putting mine down aswell, thats all :)
