I really think this year looks very promising!

I can think of three teams which i will show you which one could get top 4 whilst the other top 8 and the final one and safe 12th - 14th!

The reason for this thread is that i would like to see other peoples first team for this year including youngsters if needed!

So here i go!

Top 4 Team

Robbo

Chimbo , King , Dawson , Bale

Lennon , Zokora , Jenas/Malbranque , Petrov/Taarabt

Berbatov , Keane/Bent

Top 8 Team

Cerny

Stalteri , Kaboul , Gardner , Lee

Routledge , Tainio , Huddlestone , Rose

Bent , Defoe

Bottom 12 - 14 Team

Alnwick

Ifil , Dervite , Rocha , Ekotto

Ghaly , Murphy , O'hara , Maghoma

Mido , Pekhart

So what do you think of my teams and can you think of a better 1st 2nd of third string?

mate that last team would get relegated and the 2nd one would struggle aswell. We do have a good looking squad though with plenty of young players my first choice would be something like this

---------Robbo

Chimbo King Dawson Bale/Ekotto

---Jenas Zokora Tainio

------Bent----Keano
--------Berbatov

or

same defence

Malbranque Zokora Jenas Lennon

----------Keano Berbatov

one thing is for sure Jol will have alot of options with the squad we have right now. If we got Petrov and or Sneijder and sold Ghaly, Mido and Murphy we'd be set for a definte top 4 challenge. We're not far off challenging Arsenil and Liverpool, it's just ManU and Chelski who are still a bit in front of us.

as a slightly different set up

..............robbo ..............

chimba ...dawson... kaboul..... bale

....................king......................

lennon.... zakora .....malbranque

....keane .....berby ............

without us buying a ballwinning settling influence at center mid i wouldnt be adverse to playing effectively 3 centerbacks with king stepping up ahead of the other 2 and switching between that deep lying anchor role . the two full backs would be viewd as wingbacks , i believe they both have the pace to do the job . kings role would release zak to concentrate further up field , surging runs into the box to get onto anything that keane ad berby can provide , they both hold the ball up so well and we are crying out sometimes for the midfield runner to support em . last year zak was hampered by having to do do much work ahead of our back 4 to do it , and jenas sometimes didnt seem to have the will to get in these positions .

i fully expect that set up to be shot down in flames by someone with more tactical nous than me , but this forum is for debating ,sometimes even the seemingly ridiculous .
