I still believe the outcome of the champion’s league is very important in regards to the future of Tottenham. I might be wrong but this is how I see it,

If Arsenal lose in Paris,

All Tottenham fans will be delighted coz we hate the gooners and Henry will leave for sure. Also with Dennis Bergkamp retiring, Pires on his way to Spain and Cole maybe doing the same, it will be very difficult for Arsenal to replace them. Firstly there is no one in the world who could replace Henry, yeah they might buy Torres but he’s no Henry. Secondly Arsenal are a one man team and with out the Frenchman I believe it puts Tottenham on a level playing field with Arsenal.

If Arsenal win in Paris (please god no!!!),

All Tottenham fans will be devo coz we hate them gooners. Then you know what’s gonna happen Henry will stay because he’s won everything in football, likes to be the centre of attention and a big fish in a small pond. This may also lead to the likes of Cole and Pires staying, plus the revenue generated by the win gonna help them reinforce for next season.

With all this said Arsenal will be determined to have a much better season than the last. It is very likely that Man U/ Liverpool will strengthen and we know who’s gonna win the league, so it will be hard for Tottenham to break into the monopoly that is the top four.

The only way I see it is if the Big man Henry leaves for the Nou Camp in the summer and all I can say is,

COME ON BARCA!!!!!!

You're right about Henry and Arsenal being a one-man team, and the reason I want Arsenal to lose is that it keeps alive my hopes of the majestic Frenchman leaving. He is everything Arsenal and their team would be dumbstruck if he left. A post-vieira like depression will ensue, and they should royally **** up the 1st few months of the season like the season just passed. I KNOW we're all together on this.....

COME ON BARCA!

i knw it doesnt matter now, but if we'd have finished 4th and they had won, celtic would have had to have joined in the qualifying rounds instead.

actually the goons will only rake in another 2m if they win, the competition has meant they've doubled our revenue for this year which is scary (i read it somewhere). Shows why it is so hard to break into the top four tho. If henry leaves we will be on equal with the scum. Whether the euro experience and additional games will prove that over the season is another matter. Progress is the watchword. I think the other important thing if arsenal lose, is will wenger go? there are certainly bigger jobs than arsenal, and they are beatable without henry. With chelsea strengthening every year, it's unlikely they will win the league and certainly the CL without henry, so is wenger going to be satisfied with domestic cups as his goals for the season?? I don't think so.

How is that?

well, the goons would have recieved celtics automatic place for some bizarre G14 reason, forcing them to have to go through qualification.

stinks doesnt it!!!

i heard someone on 5live mention it a few weeks back.

That's absurd. CL rules REALLY need reviewing...the top brass are obviously a bunch of idiots. IMO if you win the CL you should be in it next year anyway, as a top seed. simple as. Making the defending champs qualify, should they fail to do it through league is not right. In the world cup the winners are in the next one without question. so why not CL?

So basically if we were 4th and Arsenal won, you're saying that Arsenal wouldn't have had to qualify as Liverpool did this year, they would have been straight in? And Celtic, ACTUAL champions, would have had to qualify. Sorry to say but there is one cause to most of these problems, and that's money.

If you finish 5th you shouldn't be in it - if you win it or not. Simple as.

Obviously I want them to lose, but I won't be bothered even if they won. Better save my time and energy for everything Spurs next season. If we strengthen properly, and our own youngsters keep on improving we could be challenging Liverpool for 3rd place next season.

Yeah, theoretically, but you can't deny the champions of a competition the chance to defend it.

I cant see wenger leaving as he seems like one of those people who will honour his contract. I believe he has two years left on it, if Henry goes and Arsenal dont make any improvement, he prbably wont renew his contract. Then he will go to a top club like Real Madrid or Juve or Milan. Who knows and who cares as long as frenchy fu*ks off out of this country.

just as a side issue, i believe that Brazil (world cup holders) had to qualify this time through the normal channels, well in fact i know they did.
i dont think the holders of anything should get automatic entry unless they qualify by league position, end of the day it could be a completely different team from those that won ( EG Porto the other year altho they got in thru their league position)

UEFA have it wrong, Liverpool should not have got in last season .
But hey look on the bright side, we can meet the SCUM in the UEFA cup when they fail to beat Barca on wednesday and then get knocked out in the qualifying round .

wouldnt that be great, trash the foreign scum in Europe.

You're a genius. Hope it is you who makes the Uefa Cup draw.

If they win it and don't qualify they don't deserve to be in it. If your good enough to win it you should be good enough to at least qualify for it. Winning a competition shows your good at a knock-out comp, but the whole point of having league positions as rewards to qualify is for those who are the truly better sides. Throughout 38 games the best four teams should get it. Simple as. You finish outside you haven't deserved it. **** cares if you won it.
