THE SHELF have just announced that berbatov is going to have his Spurs medical tomorrow, is this true? i hope so coz the guy is so well suited to the premier league and he'll score a lot of goals for us, especially if he's up front with Keano. Anyone know if its true?

P.S He scored for Leverkusen today.

It seems the only announcement we will get is if/when he signs. As with all other targets too.

Yes, quickly timed before the CL final so we can rub it in the goons faces, they lose their best player and we gain a (hopefully) superstar!

That would sicken them so much that they can't play their normal game. Even at their best, they are no match for Barca.

Berbatov will sign on wednesday, he spoke out at his sadness of leaving Bayer Leverkusen and the sporting director has said he will sign for spurs this week.

DIMITAR BERBATOV has spoken of his sadness at leaving Bayer Leverkusen and is set to sign a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bulgarian international is expected to be officially unveiled by Spurs by Wednesday at the latest for a fee of around £10.7million.

"I feel very sad about leaving Bayer," Berbatov said in an interview with the ARD after his last match for Bayer Leverkusen vs Hanover.

"It is a sad moment for me, but I am a professional and my career should go on, I wish the best of luck to my teammates," he added.

Rudy Voller , Sports Director of Bayer Levekusen, confirmed Berbatov would be leaving: "Berbatov is going to sign with Tottenham this week. His absence will open a huge gap in Bayer and the Bundesliga will lose a great player. It will be hard for us to find an equal substitute for Dimitar," Voller said.

Yup, berbatov was quoted in the times saying;
"I have played my last game for Bayer, I will have a job at Tottenham next season"

Maybe he's a new caretaker?

Let's just hope we can get Wigan and their ****in idiot chairman to accept 4M or equivalent for Chimbonda, then another attacking mid, SWP apparently today, sorted!

yeah that's why I used the word apparently! :D haha! With his old man being an ex-Gooner I don't suppose he'd be too happy bout him in a spurs shirt, but yeah, just media linking us with who's available I guess.

well jose has been quoted as saying one of the four from robben, duff, cole and swp will go this year. the press have said he's been making noises about going due to not featuring enough, if he has then it will likely be him. Can't see him going to arse as they only got 4 english speaking players there, and ashley cole's gonna leave.

is that meant to say Cole's not gonna leave? Or do you mean Ashley Cole? I don't think Joe Cole will leave. Ashley Cole might. I think SWP will defo be the one to go. It was a massive mistake for him, Chelsea just took advantage of the big club-small club status (Chelsea/Man C) and offered them money they simply couldn't refuse. SWP needs to leave to resurrect himself while he's only lost one season of his career. I just don't understand why they bought him, was it simply to stop others from having him, because I've read Mourinho doesn't want to sell to Liverpool as he sees them as title rivals next season.

No to SWP. He should have come before we had Lennon. On retrospect, it was a good thing for we now have a better player and saved 16 million.

It's probably just a rumour with no substance, as per usual

if we do sign SWP it means the end for Routledge which is a shame as he hasnt been given a chance to prove himself in a spurs shirt. i know he's not going to be as good as SWP but still i like him and it would be nice to see him do well for us. if it is true that 1 of the 4 chelski wingers is going then we should go for all 3 before we go for SWP as all the others are left wingers which is what we need. Duff to the lane
