Apparently we have had an improved £3M bid rejected by Wigan.
I have to say I agree with Wigan that if he just made it in team of the year no one is going to get him cheap so if we really want him why not offer them something you know they will accept. I would not accept £3M if I were Wigan.

they want £6million for him but thats never going to happen, if we can get him for £4million of less then its a good deal all round. i value him at around £3.5million but £4million isnt extortionate

Ok, he's a player that made the premiership XI but he's also a player that desperatly wants to leave his club, he'll leave for less than the £6million asking price.

I agree, but what I am saying is they are never going to let him go for £3M and we always do this..
you wait, some other club with come in with £4 / £4.5M and nab him from us.
All I am saying is if we want the player then go get him properly :)

If chelscum get involved in the chimbonda bidding he'll suddenly be worth £16.5million. they'll still buy him and think they've got a bargain. MUGS.

He's not worth 6million. I'm willing to concede he's worth 3 or 4million and a player we don't use, say Anthony Gardner or Calum Davenport.

Wasnt Carr in the team of the season a few weeks before we sold him to the barcodes for only £2.5m?

At that time, Carr was only living on past reputation. His standard had dropped so much that we were indeed lucky that we got that amount for him.

Yeah Carr now seems to be addicted to Geordie roadside burger bars...

£3.5million is what his agent quoted as realistic, and I agree we should not be held to ransom over £6M. £4million would be fair, but no more.
