Keane Signs New 5 Year Deal

Looks like Spurs are being very circumspect in signing up all their core players to new deals so there's no chance of them running down with a few years to go. This should finally end any speculation about him going to Villa or elsewhere. It started to make me wonder how long Defoe has left on his current deal.

One of our most important players, especially given the telepathic understanding with Berbatov. It would take one hell of a player to come in and oust Keano.

It's great that he's signed a new deal, it's really pleasing news as he is a Spurs legend, and him and Berba's partnership upfront is unmatched in my opinion, so now all we need is for Berba to sign a new deal, i'm sure this will help Berba to sign a new deal just that little bit more too :) :p

The Sun's now saying that Berb will be signing a new 5 year deal doubling his wages. Hopefully they'll now stop trawling out various offers that The Ferg is concocting. That just leaves a summer of Chimbo to Chelsea for £12m stories.

I've been an avid follower of Robbie Keane's career since he burst on the scene as a bright eyed 16 year old at Wolves. And knowing that he's going to be a part of Spurs history, probably playing here until he's 35 and then becoming a coach, has me overjoyed. A legend in the making.
