Was trawling over some of the boards today, could have been that Harry Hotspur one when he claimed that Steed Malbranque was getting boo'ed!?!? And I read someone that made more than a bit of sense.

We all know we've been linked with Martin Petrov, as well as any other player with two legs - apart from Stilian Petrov! The message on the board suggested we buy the both, albeit possibly a bit hard to pry Stilian away from his new found home.

The bloke could be the player we need. True, he's only just rejoined O'Neill, and probably wouldn't want to leave. But we've got euro footy, and they ain't. Would that be a factor in any decision? He's well known for sticking a foot in, and his first season here could be called a success for a team that's surprisingly struggled.

Aside from this season he's got a good scoring record and I thought it wasn't such a bad shout, especially as he could link up with a front two of Keano and Berba. So what do you all think? Especially you suBerb, you are probably more qualified than any to speak about him.

for me Stilian has had a hugely disappointing season but it is his first so he will get better. for the price that villa would command to keep him i think we could do a lot better for attacking midfielders

Personally do not remember Steed being booed. Think you might find it was the obligatory "SSSSTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDD" that he gets as soon as he comes on or does something special. Obviously the bloke is no world beater but Seville at home aside, i reckon he has done a job this season when called upon.

Same old story though, we need a NATURAL left sided midfielder to allow Lennon time on his favoured right.

Absolutely, I think Steed's actually been outstanding for us at times this season. His close control is something everyone can learn from, and despite giving the ball away a bit I think he's been a quality signing. His form fluctuated a bit toward the latter end of the season, but his involvement straight after his injury improved the team no end.

And your right about the boo / name as well, you want to check the replies some were telling the site, proper ****ing him off.

Steed also ought to be commended for his gnat like ability to pick at peoples heels when not on the ball without conceding free kicks - he knows exactly where the line between attempted tackle and foul is and flaunts this knowledge expertly!
