Almost worth considering paying the new ticket prices....

Ginola's son and Goonhater,
Wake up lads. Even under Jol you're looking at the best possible - 2 top 5 finishes, so what's that? The last trophy was under Graham in 1999 and that was the LC against Leicester. If that isn't second rate I don't know what is. More importantly, neither of you know what is. To a player, it's distinctly second rate. Sorry lads, but in today's Sky environment it's CL or nowhere.

Well, I think some of the football we play at times is quite brilliant, we'll never break into the top four because teams like man u protect themselves by buying the best players from these threatening teams, we'd literally need an abramovich to break into it.

No son, we need not to panic and reject the idea of billionaires buying the club. They won't be thinking about anything other than large profits. Spurs are much bigger than that. I know it's corny but it is about glory and about playing the game in a certain style. That made me follow the club. I don't like tattoos but that's the tattoo I'd have across my chest.

No son, I never said we must get an Abramovich to succeed, I said that that is the only way to break into the top four, and I stand by that. I'd rather we didn't get one in though and keep plugging away at it.

I think Arsenal's days are numbered in the top four, and even Chelsea may go belly up if the current turbulent atmos over there continues. Lampard has been saying there's bad vibes running around, Ballacks going to have a strop and leg it if Sidwell comes in, and Abramovich may even get bored soon, especially when his plans for world domination are foiled by with the destruction of his secret volcano lair.
I think the current rate of development could see us make top 4 in a couple of seasons on our own merit. We have been 2nd rate for a long time now, but no longer my friend. No longer.

Reiterated once again that he has had no contact from any Prem clubs and that he expects him to be at Spurs next season, and sees him scoring 25-30 goals next season. What makes me slightly anxious is that seem to be too many reassurances, almost on a daily basis. It's true that if Berb did go to ManU we may as well change our name to ManU's Feeder Club.

There is so many reassurances because the papers keep spreading crap, Utd want Defoe, then Berba, then Defoe, etc, like I said a few days ago, I think NOW the papers will take the hint, if not, then i'd like to see Berba sign a new contract, maybe then all the rumour spreading would stop, Berba wants to stay, and the club WILL NOT sell him, it's just silly paper talk, and it really is starting to annoy me now :p, but apart from that, I think Utd will go for Hargreaves as there big summer signing, and Chelsea David Villa most likely, as Berba is staying, we've been reassured that he's staying enough times now to believe and be assured that he IS staying :p

Listened to Mark Bright on R5 Live say that when he saw Berb first play at WHL he thought he would be a perfect player for ManU, and told the friend he was with, a Spurs fan, that Berb would probably go to a big club. I expect he appreciated it as much as I do. It's clowns like Bright that really get my goat. Maybe he fancies doing a bit of freelance scouting for ManU on the side. Perhaps he was unaware that they could have signed him last year if they had been that hungry for him then.
Bright seems to suffer the misconception that the league is just a primer for the real challenge - success in the CL for the "big 4" and all the other clubs have to bow down before them. Journalists and commentators think this imperative since it can "prove" who has the strongest league, and thus makes them more important in judging on matters of quality because they're used to seeing the best. But how many actual champions from the previous season have won the CL the following season? Precious few, and this season we have 2 finalists who both finished third. Clearly, for all Liverpool's success in the CL, they're a long way from being a better side than ManU. I don't see any signs of the hyperbole decreasing and until it does, we'll be subject to the ignorance of broadcasters who think Chelsea are a big club.

Spot on jrio. It still amazes me that you have players like Bright who almost seem to have jumped on the bandwagon and have no concept of football. The fact of the matter is Berbie would be an ideal player for any team. Man U had their oppurtunity to sign him when we did, and declined. A fact that Berbie has taken into consideration.
The only Champions League winners that I can actually think of that won their league the previous season is Barca last year.

All of you know that he is a great player. One day he might be the best. But he cannot be the best in Tottenham. He should go in a bigger club.United or Liverpool. He needs to play in Champions League, not to fight for a place in Uefa.He has to play for a team, that is fighting for trophies.

It's simple. Berba thinks, along with many other people, that spurs are on the up.
He thinks we can qualify for cl next year and kick on from there. If we don't he will almost certainly go.
The plans set in place by Levy, Arnesan (and now Commoli), and Jol have gone right to plan so far. The next step is to hit the big teams. Next year is a big year for spurs.
With some big additions and further development and improvement within the existing squad we can do it. Arsenal are very vulnerable right now.
And all the foundations are there for an even better future. Spurs are going to reap the benefits of doing things the right way.
I know it's hard for some peope to accpet that anybody else can ever compete with the big four, but it's not true. It's just that nobody else with a fan base like spurs has gone about it in the right way. Mark my words spurs are going to be a force. How big a force only time will tell.

I think he can. Remember Drogba's first season.
And for me he's better than Drogba already. He's technically on another planet, though Drogba is very effective. But Drogba isn't good at holding the ball up, and his touch is poor.
He relies on brute force, but he is good at it, and he suits chelsea's muck football.
However, I think this was just a particularly prolific season for Drogba. And I'm guessing Berba has 10-15 assists on top of his goal tally, much more than Drogba anyway.
To be honest I hate even mentioning them in the same sentence. One's absolute enduring class and the other is a man of the moment.
Berbatov will always be remembered. Drogba will be here one moment forgotten the next, because he's nothing special.

I'm not just saying this cause I support Tottenham, But I think Berbatov is better than Henry...
Ok, Henry might b faster but Berbatov plays intelligent football, Dimitar Knows where the ball is gonna land, Knows where to go when another player wants to pass the ball to him, He makes goal scoring look easy, Henry's only good when the ball comes to him (As much as I hate the French ****)

I think they are equals. Henry is overated somewhat I think. I once counted 18 big cl and international games where he was poor at best.
He's often misused because he's not a centre forward. As you say he's only really good when the ball comes to him. He's a winger, or free role striker, not a centre forward.
But he's extremely dangerous when he gets facing defenders at pace. And he scores and creates a lot of goals when he's used correctly. Of course he suits arsenal perfectly because they rely mostly on break aways to create real chances.
I think playing Henry centre forward cost France the world cup. They often had NO centre forward because Henry would drop deep to pick the ball up, as that's only how he can be dangerous.
He also was often sitting outside the box when crosses went fizzing across the goal. If Domenach had any savvy he'd had played Henry forward left and Saha up top.
He'd have gotten far more moments from Henry and he'd had a centre forward.

Choda was the first to recognize Berba's class.
I remember that after the Besiktas game he said Berba was the best target man in Europe. I think that to many fans this statement sounded very exaggerated. Now it sounds pretty close to the truth.
By my lights, Berba is not yet as good as Henry was in his prime. But eventually he will get better for he is more versatile. Without blistering pace Henry would be very good but not superb.
The best of Berba is yet to come. Next spring we are going to enjoy breathtaking performances. I told you that he can play better than Klinsmann. Next spring he will prove it to all those who still doubt it. Maybe I should now say he can play better than Van Basten  In 2-3 years he may do it. His potential is frightening. "The most gifted striker I have ever seen", said a German defender who had played many times against the great Dutchman.

I believe a couple of Papers have already reported he'll sign a new contract to stay at Tottenham, wether or not he does sign a new contract I dont know, but he doesnt need to sign a new one anyway, he's pledged his future to us many times now, and the papers seem to have stopped with the Berbatov rumours, at least from what I can see, I always make sure I read the BBC Gossip and Rumours section every day to see whats there, and rumours about Berbatov arent there anymore, so lets hope it stays that way because all the Paper talk rumours also annoy me, too, but at least he is staying, I believe we can relax now and enjoy watching him perform his magic next season, COYS!! :D :p

If his wage is only 22k a week it seems quite a disparity between that and the fee paid. When you pay over £10m for a player you'd guess he's got to be on at least 30-40k a week. Speculation is that Spurs will double his wages and I wonder how many of next season's shirts will have his name and number on the back?
