Anyone else noticed this??

One thing has been bothering me recently.

Why dont we score more goals from set-pieces? It must be down to the delivery?

We have Dawson, King, Chimbonda, Berbatov, Jenas, Rocha all attacking corners/free-kicks yet we hardly ever convert them.

Has this bothered anyone else?

was saying the same thing yesterday myself..cant remember the last time we scored directly from a corner!..saying that look how many we have sored in open play of late!...its been great..

Absolutely. We have no-one to take them though. Jenas' delivery is poor, did you see his attempt yesterday...couldn't beat the first man yet again. Lennon's corners are no better, his final ball is startlingly worrying.

Huddlestone is the man when he's on the pitch, but that is all to rarely at the moment.

I still don't see why Zokora doesn't take corners. One thing I mentioned during the World Cup was how good his corners were. Even if it's just for a trial, let him take a few please!!!

Other than that the only other man we have is Danny Murphy, but what's the likelihood of seeing him wearing lilywhite again...?

I have been saying this all season. The delivery of the corners is so poor it is unbelievable. Corners should result in at least 5 goals a season.

Surely they must have worked on them in training at some stage???

It's been going on longer than this season. Over the course of the past few years I can think of Dawson vs Chelsea, King vs Arsenal, and that is all. Mido vs Arsenal and Mido vs Portsmouth too. Were the two Mido's from free-kicks or corners though?

i agree the corners are poor as is a lot of the crossing in general, hence us scoring most thru the middle areas with more intricate stuff.

Zokora is too inaccurate with shooting, dead-balls etc. also he is the one who sits on the half way line ready to clean up the opposition breaks from our corners, far more effective there than taking a corner
