But that will count for nothing - the mighty spurs to win, home and away.
To be honest, I can't see Spurs losing another game this season. :)

Just checking their last four games on the beeb, they won 2 at home, lost 2 away, all by a single goal, including losing 1-0 away to Porto last weekend. Could be tougher than people are expecting.

Yeah, these guys are no mugs, they're a difficult side to break down and they've got strong and pacey strikers who could hurt us on the counter if we're not careful. We need to take at least two goals into the away leg as very few teams score in Braga. I'll take a 2-0 at the Lane and a 0-0 in Braga. Did anyone see Sevilla play on the weekend? We need someone to beat that lot before we have to face them, they're very good, ditto for Werder Bremen as well.

Peronally I think we should have our strongest side out for this game, as its been said before MJ really wants this cup.
Can we get a result against Chelsea in the FA cup? Tall order and as we are at Stamford Bridge it will probably be too much for us, the heart says we will win there but the brain says we wont.
So put out the best we got for this game ...

Just found out this (not sure if it was mentioned in previous posts).
from the city of Braga, that was founded in 1921. Portuguese club Sporting Braga have been known as Arsenal do Minho -'Minho's Arsenal'- ever since former coach Jose Szabo returned from a match at Highbury in the 1930s and convinced his old team to ditch green in favour of red and white sleeves. (Sporting even renamed their youth team Arsenal do Braga)
Now if that wasn't an incentive........

It's been on Wikipedi for quite some time it seems. As soon as we got Braga S61 looked them up and it saidso then, it's not as if someone just updated it with some bullshit.
And it probably would have come out if they were playing Bolton because Bolton always beat Arsenal...now PSV or Blackburn, they are a different story...:D

Zokora needs to get forward much more as he he's got the drive and pace to cause trouble!!!

Couldn't agree more both with Lee and Zokora, I also have been impressed with Gardener (compared to former form) and felt he was really hard done by on the penalty and a couple of other calls.
Zokora does still look a little hesistant to drive forward as much as he could.
Lee needs to work on his left foot crossing as he at least attempted a couple of times not to cut in and keep going down the wing.

9th March 2007, 11:14 AM
I think that Berba becomes a media star. Last night he was good in the first half, actually much better than the other players, but in the second he lost desire for no evident reason. Yet Sun presents him as the MOM, which is a bit strange. And BBC asked Jol whether Berba is the best forward in Europe.
Shuggie13
9th March 2007, 11:29 AM
He is becoming just that, especially after the Bolton performance. The media love that sort of performance because is all about star quality and sublime skill , which is a great part of the appeal of football.
You are right about the second half performance of Berbie though, he almost phoned it in.

I hate to keep banging on about it but who else noticed the precise point in the game when we lost our grip, if only temporarily? when Tainio came off, his work off the ball was outstanding covered every inch of grass and also covered the gaps, excellent display. Keane was also very astute at filling in the gaps when the midfield went forward, he must have played 1/4 of the game in Zokora's position (Zokora looked good by the way), the only dampener you could put on the perfomrance was a) conceeding a sloppy 2nd goal b) Malbranque was largely peripheral, his closing down of angles is very sloppy, and I didn't think a huge amount of his partnership with Chimbo. Other than that, a fine performance at a reasonably tricky ground.

But seriously though mate, I happen to think you might be right, I personally have never rated tainio but In the game yesterday, I did pay extra attention to what you were saying about him. But Im gonna reserve my full judgement for a few more games though ;)
On the Zokora issue, I believe you may have made an error of judgement, I remember a few months back you were scathing in your attack of Zokora, using lines such as "he has the touch of a rapist" (i may of just made that up) and other insults. No, yes (to coin a phrase) I did indeed say that Zokra has "the touch of a rapist", I think it was the nicest thing I had to say about him:o butr in the last 2 or 3 games he's been 200% improved (a mathmatical impossibilty but hey), I still think his 1st touch is suspect but he's been pulling up trees to make an impact. I'd say that Jol has realised that he's a box to box rathr than a holding player and by playing a disciplined player alongside him, i.e. Tainio or Jenas, we have a central midfield that can go forward and defend for the first time all season.
TT's only problem is that he is perpetually injured but I would lime to see the win/loss ration when he plays, I am positive it will be very revealing.

As we're all in that sort of mood;
Before bed one night, Arsene Wenger is desperately trying to think of ways to get his blundering Arsenal teams’ season back on track. As a last effort Wenger decides to get on his knees and pray to God for guidance.
God hears the Frenchman’s whining and decides to take pity on the poor man, so later that night Wenger suddenly awakes to see The Lord himself standing at the bottom of his bed. God beckons Wenger out of bed saying, “Come forth my son…” to which Wenger replies, “Fourth? We’ll be lucky if we finish bloody sixth!”

A woman buys a car in London. On her way home she notices that only one radio station works. She immediatly turns the car around and heads back to the dealer.
"Oi," she says, "the bleedin' radio in this motor doesn't work! It only receives one station!"
The dealer replies, "It's voice activated. You tell it want kind of music you want to listen to, and it automatically changes."
This satisfies the woman, who immediately gets back into the car and drives for home. On the way, she says, "Classical..."
The car radio automatically switches to classical music.
She then says, "rock and roll..."
The car radio automatically switches to a Rolling Stones tune.
Again she speaks to the car radio...
"Country Music..."
The car radio automatically switches to a Garth Brooks song.
Right then, a guy in a Jag pulls in front of her and cuts her off...
"******!!!!" she screams.
The car radio automatically switches to an Arsene Wenger interview.

Might have worked last season but as they're already 4th this season by 5 points with 2 games in hand over the 5th placed side, it kinda falls flat.

Sssshhh, we're having a laugh at the goons expense, who cares if it's factually correct or not? After all, Wenger has never concerned himself with bare facts.

Yeah spurs61, but if there's no basis in truth it looks ridiculous.

It only looks ridiculous when it's not a joke. Lighten up!

Back on topic anyway.
Teemu was seen by someone I know in a club, he went up to him and said "mate, your a good player, but your always injured". Teemu looked at him and just said "yeah, but then Tottenham knew that when they bought me" and that was it. And it's true. Even when we bought him Frankie said he had been after him for time, that TT had rejected him once before.
KK can say now that 'every game he play we win' but that is actually fact for the last two seasons (not literally every single one, but still the majority.)
Now TT is playing in the middle as well he looks 10 times better. He's a player i've always rated, how many times have I said he's probably my favurite player just for pure will and effort - even if he can't head the ball.

Yes it is Berbie, so its not slightly football related, it is demonstrating Berbie displaying mad skills on the table football too.

Plus he was free so not a huge liability. He's one of a few players, the others being Zokora and Lee, who have noticeably improved over the last month.
