If this is anything like Sven's, I would like to offer my considered opinion. Why are either Brown, Young, Konchesky and especially WOODGATE included, but no Dawson? From the midfielders I think the inclusion of Richardson and no sign of Nolan is pathetic, Also, Heskey and Johnson? FFS, what about Ashton or Harewood...PREMIERSHIP STRIKERS!

Anyway, Rooney-less, this is my starting XI and 7 substitutes.

Robinson/G Neville/Terry/King/Bridge/Beckham/Gerrard/Lampard/J Cole/Owen/Ashton

Subs: James/Carragher/Dawson/Lennon/Carrick/Defoe/Vassell

nah i wouldnt take Ashton i think he's quite a boring player and no better than Beattie or Bent. i definatelt wouldnt take Rob Green, the man cant catch a cold, conceded the mmost in the premiership last season and has barely kept a clean sheet all season and thats in the championship. whats wrong with Nigel Martyn, Richard Wright, Chris Kirkland (if fit) or even just taking 2 keepers which is what i'd do.

Ashton is much better than Beattie and Bent, he is easily one of the best English around, better than Crouch any day. And Richardson is a good player too, a great player to bring on the left for 20 minutes to make sure of a game.

I would love to see them take ashton. he is an old fashioned centre forward aka alan shearer - strong and skillful although not selfish enough at times. Lennon has to go ahead of swp very few defenders with 20 minutes to go if he came on could cope with his speed and quick feet. Dawson has to go he has been better than leds , rio , anton and possibly carragher this season.

i think richardson was included as an attacking option or perhaps cover for the left side, but lennon would be much more of a threat and i think he'll crash the party. I think dawson's lack of experience will mean wes brown will go instead, it's probably a close call tho. The fact that he plays with robbo could swing it.
Woodgate will never go. Cover for rio might be the only question mark at the back, and carragher can do that. Think sol will miss out if king is fit.
