With Davids gone was thinking about the most influential signings that Spurs have ever made, for me has to be Gazza, Ossie, Klinsmann.

These are players that lifted the team and the entire club.

Other thoughts fellow yids????

so half the price of one Zokora then, bargain.

My vote goes to Scott Houghton - class personified.

oh or Andy Turner, Danny Hill, David Tuttle etc etc etc, god we've produced some fantastic players over the last 10 years or so.

Turner was the next big thing but got hit by down by injuries - give the man a break.

Agreed, Andy Turner didnt have much luck with injuries, he was also trying to force his way into a decent spurs side that already had plenty of attack minded players, with Barmby, Durie, Sheringham etc ahead of him in the pecking order.

oh sorry, must have been another Andy Turner I was thinking of, cos I never saw this potential world beater, all I saw was a potential wife beater.

If that were truly the case, he would have ended up at a decent club at a decent level. Someone remind me what he did with his career after he left us?

Other than two or three player, our record at producing top class youngsters is less than impressive. As is evidence by the fact that Barnard is considered the best of the bunch at the moment; he's rubbish.

Its true enough. Last time I heard he was playing non-league for some team, can't remember who though. He was a some sort of a coach at Charlton for a time I do believe as well.

I fear that Big Tom may go the same way as Caskey. He was a terrific little player but was unable to perfom at the top level due to a lack of mobility! Tom is probably more gifted but Caskey was more physical and read the game just as well.

Iverson weren't that bad a player.

And Stevie Carr was best RB in PL whilst with us.

I used to argue with my mate that Iversen was better than Anelka (when they were both first choice strikers for us and the A*se.)

I believed it at the time ;)

If Steffan had fulfilled his potential he would have been world class. Who remembers the way he used to hang in the air for hours? His last game for Rosenberg before he joined us, he single-handedly beat the outstanding AC Milan side. It was a real shame that he suffered all those injuries, when he joined those on the know touted him as the Scandinavian Batistuta!

Steffigol wouldn't of had the same ring to it though. I liked Iversen although he had terrible acne. Not sure why that bothered me, but it did.
