I might support Southend.

I'm going to this one.

Should be fine, but S-end gave it a right good go last time.

I hope we rest a few key players in this game in preperation for Wednesday night.

I'll reckon he'll play cerny, roche, daws, gardner, lee, JJ, mrphy, galy, zokora with kane and mido upfront!!

I dont really care to be honest at the min im too hurt

Ah come on buddy. Least we didn't do a Liverpool....yet.

And they had some known faces out there. It wasn't totally children. I know it hurts, but it could have been so much worse on our own turf.

Mate it doesn't matter that it was arsenal it could have been bolton we were playing for all i care its just that we did all that good work and now we've got to win there and not concede and we can do it but only if we get the tactics spot on.

I'll be ok by the weekend

Its very important not to **** this one up for the obvious reasons that i wont put write in case it jinks us.

I would like to see Alnwick given a go in goal (if he is not cup tied) and Rocha given his debut. Berbatov needs wrapping up in cotton wool till weds and after that it is down to the Jol lottery. Play Keane, he needs games to get his fitness up

For the second half in which they scored both their goals they has 9 first teamers on the field.

Too right!!! Give the cardboard cockney's a hammering, i'd be inclined to give this Tarabt kid a go, we did promise him 1st team football and apparently he looked the business against the scum reserves the other night.

I'm not sure if King is fit, but i think we should keep him for wednesday

jrio
27th January 2007, 12:42 PM
Even worse than that, there are strong rumours King won't be fit for Wednesday. Jol seems to have resolved to play a lot of second-string players, a dangerous tactic as we struggled to beat Southend in the CC, only scoring 6 mins from the end of ET. Morale for Wednesday's game will be very low if we fail to beat Southend. I'd restrict the resting to Mal, Lennon, Defoe and Hudd.

spurs4ever
27th January 2007, 02:12 PM
I have a good feeling about this game. Jol would have fired up the team and hopefully learnt from his tactical mistakes v the Arsenal.

Yes I am very confident that we sweep them aside... who knows maybe this is OUR year!!

C`mon you SPURS!!!

god call billywhizz on taarabt. he played well for the reserves the other night and id include him on the bench at least today. if things go well, i.e cardiff replay, he'd be worth at least ten minutes at the end as a replacement for lennon or malba.

i think it would be a bad idea to drop robbo as well, considering his alarming drop in confidence since the summer but i would put alnwick on the bench as a reminder that theres a young u21 keeper at the club who is on his tails.

my team would be

robbo

chimbo, dawson, rocha, ekotto

zokora, hudds, malbranque

lennon, defoe, keane

subs: alnwick, gardner, taarabt, jenas & mido.

the 16 are...

cerny; stalteri, dawson, rocha, lee; ghaly, zokora, jenas; lennon, mido, keane.

subs: alnwick, malbranque, defoe, hudds & gardner.

Even more important, how's JJ doing? Or have I done a wrongun in asking?

From what i've seen he's looked good. He's getting stuck in, putting alot of pressure on the opposition and he's getting up the pitch.

But that's just the lag free patches i've managed to catch.

we played a completely different team. i for one would of thought we would of been more up for the arsenal game but seemed more up for this one.

Yes, it was only Southend (the team that knocked Man Utd out of the Carling Cup,) but I cannot fault one player in a white shirt today (or 90s rave green in Cernys case.) Lee YP was fantastic going forward, Lennon was just mindblowing, Midos goal was well deserved, Ghaly and Zokoras work rate was top notch... I could go on.

Well done the Spurs.:D

JJ
27th January 2007, 07:21 PM
Good performance, did what we had to do. Just can't get too carried away because it was against Southend, after all.

A good result as far as confidence is concerned though, and will hopefully carry us through to Wednesday.

Lennon was breathtaking and my MOM but I gotta say that we've missed JJ so much. He's enigine, technique and work rate is faboulus. Rocha had a fine debut too. He wasn't tested too much but did fine.

i didnt actually think we looked too good , agaainst a team that has score 5 goals in 15 games away from home . jj played well especially since it was his comeback game .
saying that i passed out at 2.15 am in the mng so missed most of the second half

Ginola's Son
29th January 2007, 10:14 AM
I was setead in row 5, north stand, behind the goal. I personally thought we didn't play all that well.

We looked very lazy and casual, and if Southend were as up-for-it as they were in the CC, we could have slipped up. That said, Lennon exceeded God status with yet another virtuoso performance, holding on this guy will be very difficult. He is a world beater, I knew from the first time I saw him.

Zokora had a better game as did Lee. Mido still looks very lax, I'm not happy with him despite the goal. Jenas - welcome back, I've missed his workrate. Hopefully, he'll help to keep the deficit down on weds. Rocha looked ok at the back, he gets up well and isn't afraid to get stuck in, with King out further, he is going to get the starts and must settle in quickly. He'll of course face far tougher tests then that of Southend. Cerny looked ok in goal with one fine save...I'd actually be up for giving him a run in the team, Robbo needs something to kick him in the ass.

The wins the most important thing, but we didn't play great football by any stretch of the imagination.

.

I was going to suggest this, Cerny actually did something Robbo finds impossible on Saturday (I know it was Southend) but he didn't concede a goal from open play. Robbo should learn how to do that.

You won't catch Robbo trying to turn a striker in his own 6 yard box then playing it right across the face of the goal putting Dawson in the shit though.

But i agree, Robbo could probably do with a bit of a slap in the face.
