Pick a striker you want wearing Lilywhite. Stick a reason down why not!
(All strikers have been linked with Spurs over the last few months)

Because MJ loves him and that is good enogh for us
Keanoldinho
26th April 2006, 11:49 PM
Torres, because he's a potential world beater and would work well with Keano or Defoe. Berbatov or Kuyt would be more realistic though and are both class players too.
Danishspurs
27th April 2006, 06:17 AM
Kuyt because he's more realistic, then Torres and has scored constantly in the last two seasons...

Any of the good ones, nothing like Carew

that's insane, i just did this and then i find someone done exactly the same last night.... ffs!

27th April 2006, 10:43 AM
Van the Man because he scores goals for fun. Don't think its realistic though reckon Kuyt would be a great signing. Looks pretty good from what I've seen of him ( which has only been bits and pieces mind you )
Welsh Spur
27th April 2006, 10:46 AM
I ****in hate that ****....I for one hope we NEVER sign him, I don't care how good he is I couldnt bring myself to support him even if he played for us, cant stand him as a player, dont like his tactical play, dont like him in general...brilliant poacher, nothing else.

I know what you mean about his play, but you cant fault his goals-per-game average unfortunatley!

i know...my hatred probably stems from the fact he plays for those manc arseholes

But Ruud, why the long face.......... (boom boom)

27th April 2006, 11:36 AM
i'd take ruud off their hands but i don't think he's a realistic proposition. You have to wonder why manx want rid, when saha gets injured most of the time also. I reckon ruud was sniffing about for a move and got rumbled. Was in great form early in the season. Could only see him replacing defoe and would cost loads and not really be viable for the outlay. Kuyt is an ok player, can hold the ball up if that's all we're after. Will cost twice his worth in my opinion. The question is do we want another striker just to replace mido, or two big men, or another striker who can also play wide. I'd settle for carew and either anelka/lua lua. Maybe they think barney or hamdoui will be good enough, so maybe just a big striker.
Welsh Spur
27th April 2006, 11:43 AM
Anelka would be more of a liability than Mido...with his temperament, think he's left every club on bad terms, throwin his dummy out, and what is it with ex-gooners? **** em!

who RVN? i agree. sat next to the guy on a plane coming back frm holland some months back and he's just bloody weird. not the most friendly, open or nicest footballers around.

Given a choice it has to be Torres, he scores every season in a team that is mediocre at best and certainly lacks a creative hub. He's tall and strong, quick, good in the air and very skilful and reads the game brilliantly AND he's captain material. Break the bank for him!
Welsh Spur
27th April 2006, 12:34 PM
I would LOVE it, LOVE it, if we signed Torres....
spurs61
27th April 2006, 12:40 PM
Hmmm, i'd take Kuyt as a second choice, he's got every attribute Torres has but lacks the pace. Frankly I think Torres can take his pick of where to go, I would n't be suprise to see him go to Real or Barca, it would be as big a coup as signing Klinsmann if we got him.
Spur
27th April 2006, 12:53 PM
How about signing Klinsmann? Anyone? I hear Cantona scores regularly on sand? We could get in Romario, 40 years-old and going strong...
No, ok how bout Teddy? Les? No? Ok, i'll settle for Torres (",)

yes torres would be quality but not particularly realistic. for some reason im the only one who voted for Berbatov/???????????????. im very suprised nicola zigic wasnt up there, i definately would have voted for him if he was.

27th April 2006, 04:25 PM
Out of those..... Torres. I think he's the most exciting prospect.
spurs61
27th April 2006, 04:26 PM
I think Berbatov is slightly too lightweight for the Premiership, he reminds me of Postiga, good player and a goalscorer but not cut out for English football. Zigic is good enough but I'd rather not thank you, have you seen Jan Koller play?
highlander
27th April 2006, 04:43 PM
yes i have and he's done well in germany and for the Czech Republic, i dont know what it is but i just like the idea of having the biggest player in the world in a spurs shirt.
spurs61
27th April 2006, 05:06 PM
Yup, Koller certainly does the business for Dortmund and Czech Republic but would you relly want to see Carrick etr al lumping the ball up to a 6 foot 8 forward?
highlander
27th April 2006, 05:15 PM
sometimes you need todo it, its an option we dont really have at the moment due to the absense of Mido
Keanoldinho
27th April 2006, 06:29 PM
I say put in a cheecky bid for Ronaldo let Jol whip him into shape and BOOM we got us a world beater for afew years. He'll probably be leaving Real soon with Adriano supposedly on his way their. He's got bags of experience to in everything and could teach Defoe a thing or two. It's just a thought so don't slate me to death.
highlander
27th April 2006, 07:00 PM
not such a cheeky bid as you might expect, he's out of shape, out of form and in the summer outof contract. if we were going to make a bid for him then this summer is the time
Keanoldinho
28th April 2006, 03:17 AM
He still has 2-3 season at the top level left in him at least especially if a top coach like Jol gets a hold of him and whips him back into shape. Imagine the shirt sales we would get to us being in the CL and having Ronaldo money in the bank for sure.

Ronaldo could be amazing again if he had the right coach to push him. Real Madrid is a circus and is ran like a small country in a civil war. Theirs no stability and players hold more weight than the coachs so do what the feck they please, Big Martin would have him whipped into shape and slaughtering defences again.

He'll love the nightlife in London too. Then he'll make all of our players into alcoholics with his crazy and world famous party's in his basement. Just the sort of inspirational role model Aaron Lennon needs as this stage in his career.
Still, his name would be on my shirt.

Was there any need for that? Can't we criticise without being obscene? Dirk Kuyt is a class player, whether you like his style or not. I would love him at the Lane personally

if thats the way were doing it then what about Damien Duff. he cant get a game at chelski and there is talk of him leaving in a mass-exodus, hes already settled in London and if we get CL then i think theres a very real chance of us nabbing him from our london neighbours. he would be a great signing if we could get him

So must SWP, so we buy them both and unleash upon Europe Duffy Lennon and SWP. And Reidy.

agreed hes a great talent and has what none of our wingers have, an eye for goal, our inability to convert possession and chances into goals could cost us dearly.

sounds great Duff on the left and a fit Ronaldo upfront, we might win the thing if we pull that off. Throw in Bridge and Trabelsi and BOOM we got a allstar line up
Robbo
Trabelsi King Dawson Bridge
Lennon Carrick Jenas Duff
Defoe/Keano RONALDO
Look at all them English and Irish men, we'd be doing it the right way unlike our scumb@g neighbours

he van get a goal even if he is having a bad game.
its not gonna happen but i think this gut has the chemistry to break some records.
he needs a good strike partner.
however i would like crouch back at the lane.
