The title is true, i'm about to write an essay, look away now for those who can't be bothered!
Before I get to the Scum game, I just want to put a thought in your heads. It's a thought that sends a shiver down my spine, one that I could sit and think about for a while, and happily, with a great big smile across my face!
This time last year we were set for another mid-table shocker. We were used to it by then right? Well no more. Thankfully, the Spurs have awoken. Who would have thought that with ten games to go we would be challenging for 4th? Even more surprising, who would have thought that with 4 games to go we would be challenging for 4th? With three games to go we were guarenteed European football with a lowest possible 6th finish. At the start of the year this was acceptable. Not with two games to go! I personally did not believe, for I am a Spurs fan and everything goes wrong in the end, right?
Three seasons ago, the 14th positioned season, we were in the relegation zone at Christmas, now, two and a half years later, with two games to go in Martin Jol's first full season in charge, we are sitting 4 points ahead of our archrivals for fourth.
Anyway, the last two games have been positive for us, we have outplayed Manchester United and Arsenal, getting only one point for it, but we did outplay both teams and deserved two wins. It is only down to individual errors by the two most criticised (on these boards at least) players. The two full-backs. Firstly Lee gave away the ball on his two yard line for Manyoo to score, and although I am not sure if it was a foul or not, Paul Stalteri, for not smashing the ball out against Arsenal which led to their equaliser.
During these games, Captain Keano has proved why we were right to keep hold of him and give him a new contract, the bloke is in outstanding form, and hopefully, can continue this to the end. Form, may I add, which has propelled him to the top of the Player of the Season accolade. Michael Carrick has shown Sven why he should be starting. That 'over the top' ball to Defoe against Arsenal simply highlighted how good he is with a pass. Aaron Lennon has made a debate for himself, every report I read says Lennon is giving Sven a headache, in my opinion - he should go.
These are just a few of the players who have done outstanding thise season, I could go on and on.
The Arsenal game has shown everyone what a mug Arsene Wenger is. I would happily have Jol suspended for the next two games if only he had broken the French gits nose.
Up next is Bolton at home. We deserved something when we went to theirs, and with Jenas and Davids and possibly Teemu out, its looks like Danny M will get a start. We could see Reid or Huddlestone for part of a game too, just showing how far the squad has developed over the years, when instead it would be Moussa Saib!
After that it is a West Ham who will be hopefully focusing on the FA Cup final. West Ham have done very well this year, and despite calls for MJ to be nominated Manager of the Year, I think Pardew deserves it. On the West Ham theme, i'd also like to change my top transfer target to Dean Ashton, he is absolutely class. (I'm sure debate will rage on about that now!)
Anyway, whilst I am starting to believe, these next two games are very hard.
I set out this essay with a few clear points, but this season has gone so well - so many positives - that instead I have just rambled on about a selection of unrelated things!
Was exiled for the weekend, so jus to let you know I'M BACK!!!
