We have a lot of young players out on loan Routledge, Ifill, Ziegler, El Hamdaoui, Yeates, Halfredsson ( at Malmö) and then we have Barney, Marney, Jackson and O'hara playing at the reserves...
Who do you think we should keep and who should we let go?

i dont think we will need to get rid of any of them just yet but i suppose Ziegler must head the list for to go's, even though i really liked him last season

I'd keep Marney, El Hamdaoui and Routledge, and Barnard deserves a chance definately. I liked Ziegler last year but don't see how he can help us develop, the same for Jackson who's been on the verge too long but would definately benefit the likes of Reading, Sheff Utd for the coming season as he'd definately play.

Keep / First team potential: Routledge, Ifill, El Hamdaoui, Halfredsson
Sell / only good enough for the reserves: Yeates, Barney, Marney, Jackson, O'hara

is ifill any better than kelly? he hasn't played a game at prem league level and i think he's another spurs midget.
The left side is weird as i think we potentially have 5 players on our books that can play it (halfredson, ziegler, reid, tainio, and pyo) and none of them do, in fact two of them are out on loan. I'd like to see bridge at the club as he's a solid player, and played really well against us for fulham til robbo got him lol.
Out of our current midfield muddle somebody or maybe two surely have to go.
I'd pick davids and murphy for me but can't see murphy going straight out.
I think the aquisition of murphy and ghaly means we must have a buyer either for carrick or tainio. I have criticised carrick for his lack of attacking play, nobody can doubt his ability but i don't think our midfield contributes enough goals or attacking threat. Maybe a left wing would make carricks position in front of the defence more viable. He has shown what he can do in the last two games and he has to do that more for the team.
Be interesting to see if routledge can force his way back into the mix and huddlestone really needs to be playing to improve. the spurs revolving door is gonna be pretty busy again this summer.

did Ifil not play a couple of games for us last season - apologies if Im wrong.
would like to see Routledge given a chance, think he could be a quality player and Zeigler looked the biz but I dont think he is gonna be given the chance at Spurs.
what is the situation with Andy Reid these days??

I really think we should keep most of them. Why not? Ziegler was really promising, so was Ifil and who knows how Barney may turn out. The worst thing is to let them go at a young age and see them flourish somewhere else. Lets get the best out of them and only ley the dead wood and oldies go.

El Hammy looks like a good prospect, he was/is on Loan to Derby isnt he? know of a few Derby supporters who thought he was great, not sure though, have a feeling he may move on to a lower division where he will probably be better suited.

Yes, i know El Hammy was injured again and went back to Derby but what has he done and can he do it in the EPL?

I really think Routledge had a promising pre-season and looked pure quality, but he's not even starting for Portsmouth so i'm not sure he'll be able to do a job for us. Maybe he should just go out on loan for another season and then he'll be ready??
Ifill made to starts at the beginning of last season and has played reguarly for Milwall this season. He looks like a good back-up for Stalteri or who ever we will buy next season.
Not sure we will see Ziegler in a spurs shirt again, eventhough I think he good be a good man for the future.
El Hammy looked promising in Peace Cup and has scored quit a few goals for Derby before getting injuried.
I don't know about the rest, cause I havn't seen them play enough to judge them....

I think were Routledge is concerned and any player who goes out on loan, if they arent playing in a decent winning team their confidence is going to suffer, if you put Routledge back into a winning Spurs team I bet he would play well, he played excellent in pre season and even the few games he played before getting injured at the start of the season, I for one would like to see him back at Spurs.

Yes, i agree. As well it must be hard to be enthusiastic when you know your a Spurs player and your in the drop zone with Pompey. Pro or not it would be hard to get the best out of yourself!

This is my opinion on what will happen....
DEFINATELY OUT
Naybet (surplus to requirements)
Bunjevcevic (surplus to requirements)
Johnnie Jackson (Spent too long on fringe 1st team)
Mark Yeates (Prob. stay with Colchester)
POSSIBLY OUT
Andy Reid (out-of-form, out-of-fitness, out-of-everything, really)
Jermain Defoe (do I need to say anything?)
Mido (as above)
Edgar Davids (I DONT want him to leave but it's lookin more likely all the time)
Another Midfielder (I can't understand the signings of Murphy and Ghaly, maybe we're goin Chelski style, and usin a squad with a few key players to win the league!)
KEY PLAYERS
Paul Robinson
Ledley King
Michael Dawson
Michael Carrick
Jermaine Jenas
Robbie Keane
And these players I think will establish themselves further...
Teemu Tainio
Aaron Lennon (especially with competition if Routledge returns)
Mido (if he signs)
Y.P Lee (not a bad 1st season and I think he's still adapting to English game, despite the slating he's had recently)
The loanees will remain as such, as most are still very young...
And I hope we sign Morten Gamst Pedersen and/or Fernando Torres (if Mido goes) Not sure of a replacement for Stalteri though.... no names come to mind.

I certainly wouldn't consider selling tainio, and although i've had misgivings about carricks attacking contribution, when he's played like he has in the last couple of games i wouldn't consider selling him either. As you said in your last post the murphy and ghaly signings seem strange, as i don't see either as bench warmers. So i'm expecting someone or two to go. I'm not in a position to judge but if the spurs staff thought hudds was going to do as a good a job as carrick, then maybe they will cash in. Good business sense really.
Interesting to see walcott hasn't been playing much over at the scum lol.

U could be right about Carrick, but maybe in a few years i mean Huddlestone will need a couple of years to establish and Big Mike has had 1 outstanding season with us, last year he was getting settled, i cant wait to c him rippin opposition apart next year, and hopefully in the CL as well. I just thought, next year, all going well, we will be in 4 competitions, (Prem, Euro, FACup, Lge Cup) so a big squad with players who CAN step in an do a great job is rather essential, so maybe MJ is plannin for then, I mean maybe there is a role for all our current players given that we will be lookin to do well in at least 3 of the competitions....

it's possible. i think some of our reserves are of sufficient quality to stand in anyway. I wonder how much the clubs make out of the domestic cups and whether that covers the wages of a couple of quality bench warmers. Either way i think we have a good chance at the uefa cup next year if that's where we end up.

How does everyone expect us to fare if we do make the CL? I think the masses of Midfielders is a sign of intent, There's possibly also room for Mido Defoe Keane and another striker next year, with the players we have tactical changes are endless...
I think the FACup Prem and Euro will be of high improtance to us next year, we need to put right the Leciester and Grimsby mishaps!

we shold keep the ful baks, they have only jus got to prem and we expected 2 muc 2 soon.. we would have taken 4 or 5 or 6th at beginin of season... we seem 2 have short memories... could we see us in this position without davids.. non stop challenges even wen he was injured .. admitted his performances were not as good after he injury.. but hes geting back to normal a rest will see these players reflect on what they have acheived and bring a new added confidence... lets be thruthful we all were nervous over the season still a bit now cos we have under acheived for so long, this is actually a team who challenge compete and win together as well as lose and learn...as for the strikers defoe and keane shold also be kept... as they done well under circumstances they were both uncomfortable with.. they are both starters and being on the bench without a run out really hurt them...dont know bout murphy.. seems depressed.. mido i followed him from ajak days and always rated him... but i do think we need a more rangey striker .. powerful and awkward like kanoute but with fire and guts... coys...

yes Ifil played a few games last season at the start, i believe 2 of the games he played were liverpool and newcastle which isnt exactly easy. andy reid was injured but is now back to "full" fitness just isnt being picked.

Reid, Jackson, Kelly, Rasicrap, Hallfredson, O'hara, Marney, Barnard, and Yeates all should be sold. They're all in their 20's and haven't made a good enough impression yet when given the odd chance.
That added with the money we already have would help us secure the likes of Bridge, Torres, Kuyt, Ben Arfa, and maybe an attacking midfielder like I don't know maybe uh am let me see uh say Diego, van der Vaart, or D'Alessandro.

I can't help feeling that Rasiak, Murphy & Ghaly were signed just so Comili could justify his position. I mean the guy has been with us for 2 transfer windows & what has he done ? He's supposed to have a good network of scouts & contacts galore.
I'm hoping to be impressed by who he brings in over the summer....

He's only been here for the winter transfer window, we had Frank up until September 1st but I think Danny and Martin were doing all the work. Damien has bought Murph, Ghaly and the Czech 17-year old striker who's joining in the summer.

Maybe so, but they are on cheap contracts, they can do a job if needed, and when UEFA/FIFA change the rules to have a sepcific amount of club-grown talent we will have two players ready for it. Marney has always done well when called upon, in whatever position he's been asked to play, while Barney we still might see more of this season.
