not being funny but i think alot of our problems stem from the fact that we are too nice. why doesn't any body just crunch someone in the first few minutes. it does not have to be malicious just let the opposition now we are there and up for a game. from the games i have seen this season no one tackles with any bite. i thought zokora was brought in for this yet i have not seen him be the force he said he could be. while we are battling it might be worth bringing davids in for a run of games in centre mid. use his experience to wind the team, bring some passion.

Yeah, we do seem to lack that passion alot of the time. Even if we're not playing well, we should still be getting stuck in yet we don't seem to at all.
Dawson is usually reliable and we can count on him to murder a few people, but beyond that it has been missing. Huddlestone is pretty strong in the tackle, and Davids is as tenacious as ever.
Half of the battle is fighting.

I just think we play the game fairly and that isn't a bad thing. A bit of bite wouldn't go amiss though

We concede very few cynical fouls, yet we get alot committed against us. As noble as it is, we need to start kicking a few players just so they know we're around.

Guess so. But we don't want our boys getting sent off.

Ah, it's the beautiful game. We may need to re-word some of our songs. I've made a start:
"...because we only know that there's gonna be a show and the Tottenham Hotspur will kick shit out of you!"

There's a lot to be said for kicking the shit out of the opposition, I mean Bolton have made an art form out of it. Plus with the standard of refereeing you'd have to say chances are you won't be penalised for it, apart from some nasty words by journos but who gives a shit what those pieces of trash have got to say.

Hahah, well i didn't mean start fouling. Just go in a bit harder, put the fear in them. Dawson crunched Heskey, winning the ball at the same time, having been elbowed and then his job was easier for the rest of the game.

If these sort of free-kicks and fouls come from passion and drive then i'm all for it. Otherwise there is little point.

Yeah, i'm not really saying that we should start fouling here and then to stop play and that. I don't really like that, i'm just saying our physical presence tends to be minimal.
We just need to get stuck into teams a bit more.

There's a subtle difference between 'getting stuck in' and 'kicking the shit out of your opponents'.
The irony of all this is that the start of the seasons scapegoat on this board, namely Jenas was getting stuck in and nearly took Llunberg's head off.

Hahaha, yeah. I was quite amused by that.
