i think we need to be positive and move the ball quickly. I think we have more pace in the team, and ghaly is looking like a good option on the right. My main concern is robben against ekotto. Hopefully he can clatter him early, but ekotto looks uncomfortable with people running at him. I think he could be in for a roasting. We've played well against them the last two games, but we must play berby and defoe up front.

the only way chelsea will win is if they get a goal via a deflection. mmmm let me think the lucky ****s get that every week. i reckon if you took all the goals of them which were not deflected they would be mid table. 2-1 to spurs and lampard to score a penalty which would prob get deflected in somehow. come on you spurs. king header and berbo to score for the yids

wat odds ??. lol..if som1 is supportin ekotto he,ll be ok... all defenders have problems with pace and trickery.. ekotto is a good left back...testimony is the amount of clean sheets weve kept,,, with robben and ronaldo he needs help from left mid... wen we take our chances well beat chelsea..cos thell take theirs...if we have defoe and lennon playing well create a lot of opportunities as terry is so slow...but he makes up 4 that with his quality in other departments... leds needs to step up and so will jj and zoko... big game 4 him and he only has 90mins in last 3-4 weeks...it shud be a tasty encounter....

I think that's why Lennon has been playin' on the left recently,so that Robben cant harass Ekotto at will, he'll have to help out his full back.

Your right about Robben but i think that Chimbonda has more experience and will handle him better and Robben will switch and try his luck with Ekkotto.

This one is too hard to call. Were on a decent run and should go into the game with a lot of confidence, added to the fact that our strikers are now all firing. Chelsea have Two World class players in every position and there going to be up for this as they wont want there unbeaten run against us to end.
Personally i'd take a draw in this one, id love us to beat them but i just cant see it this time, i really hope im wrong though!!

great defending all round especially chimbonda altho he does scare me when he fannys around with ball.
i think we need to improve holding the ball the for a few seconds more as jenas and ghaly seemed to make sphincter dilate when they had the ball in the middle. but all in all happy dayz and COYS bring on steed malbranque which will only strenghthen wat we have!

actually the back four were excellent. how the hell chimbonda could even stand after the lampard challenge was beyond me. he really has been outstanding and i think he and daws won everything in the air. i'll even give credit to drogba who played well but it wasn't enough. i still have complaints, jenas was missing the whole game. and why is jol so reluctant to make changes. with 15mins to go we were being overun by 10 men. ghaly couldn't make simple passes and i think had been booked so sub him and keane and get fresh legs on. talk about make it hard on yourself. great to beat them bastards though.

ghaly couldn't make simple passes and i think had been booked so sub him and keane and get fresh legs on. talk about make it hard on yourself. great to beat them bastards though.
Ghaly became very reckless and seemed to be inviting a red card. I couldn't understand why Davids didn't come on because we were just defending our lead AT HOME against 10 MEN. And we should have lost it because Lampard blazed over and Robben hit the post, the latter of which I was certain was in. Too often we just drop back to our penalty area and whack the ball forward, inexplicable when we have the pace of Lennon and the control of Berbatov, plus midfielders in Zokora and Jenas who can pass the ball in tight situations.
It's an unbelievable result to come from behind and puts all the "Spurs not won against Chelsea" in the Prem stories to bed. Maybe November will be our month because after this it's all on a plate and only requires the resident amount of application. It may have kicked away a few cobwebs and we should be looking for at least 7 from 9 points in the league and at least a draw in Germany.

5th November 2006, 07:33 PM
Outstanding performance.
I thought everybody today was fantastic. It was a real team performance. Zokora is still suffering I feel, he maybe shouldn't be playing yet, but he still did okay.
Jenas was excellent today. Worked his balls off. Chimbonda was out of this world. Dawson won everything. King is quietly turning into Paul McGrath... it's called being so football literate it hurts.
But I tell ya the thing that impressed me the most was this: It felt like a top of the table clash. It was a hum dinger of a game. The crowd were so up for it and they had the feel of we can do this. We can beat a top side.
They created a caldron.
Up step Robbie Keane. Keano thrives on atmosphere. He's a big game player. We saw it at the world cup we saw it here.
You can count on one hand the amount of players you've seen do what he did to another footballer there today. To make another professional footballer fall over in front of you is something only a special talent can do.
Please, please, please play this guy every week and let him get going. He's capable of so much, and he was made for this club.
**** the fact that he's Irish. If I didn't want him playing for spurs I'd say so and be happy for him to play somewhere else and match fit for Ireland. He's great footballer and players like him need to be allowed to flourish.
Super finish from Lennon. He had one chance today and buried it. I'm sure he'll add this to his game.
And just to cap the day off scum lost. Oh what bliss. And Wenger and his team were sporting as ever. Happy days.
In the middle of the bad run I still thought we could finish fourth. After this I really feel our season has gotten going and we can kick on from here now.
And Malbranque is back next week. Yipee!

****in get in there, at last we've done em. Typical sour grapes from there manager how ghaly did not get sent off for the elbow on essian. just like lumpard should have been sent off for the tackle on chimbo.
We have been threatening to turn one of the so called big teams over this season, was unlucky against ManUre and if we'd scored 1st against the Scouse the result would have been different, we can kick on from here bring on that shit from down the road.

jenas and ghaly seemed to make sphincter dilate when they had the ball in the middle.
Jenas is slowly getting better. There were still the wasteful moments, but he knows he can run with the ball, he has the skills to beat people, and he knows he can play. He needs confidence to get him to do it.
Ghaly definately pricked about too much today. Would've liked to have seen Davids come on and boss the 10 men around.

at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MJ plays the same front two (theyre all good enough so who cares which front two) for three games in a row and look what we get , 2nd half V Bruges and now this.
Daws was man of the match, Chimbo was awesome, Keane was majestic tho he still needs to be more deadly when he has the chances but thats taking nothing away from him today , JJ was great when they had the ball and set up our equaliser , Aaron he loved it didnt he, you cant have me you posh West End ****heads, im too ****ing good for you .
John Terry thought he was back at some Romford nightspot being an aggressive pigheaded racist **** , then the **** thought he could sit there and take his ****ing boots off, i hope the FA take further action on that bit alone, **** off down the tunnel you ugly **** , notice how quickly the hardman ran away from Ledley once Ledley had got up, even BAE was up for some against him, Lamps was a slow cheating useless ****head like his old man always was , only Drogba came out of that with any dignity the way he cared about Dawson after the clash with them and Robbo .

I see Dawson and Lennon both scoring for some reason.
I still don't think we will win though.
Why didn't I have a bet!?!?!
I'd be ****ing rolling in it :D  :(
Today was the best atmosphere ever. Better than vs the Scum, better than any European night - it was the best.
Great play by everyone, almost a completely perfect performance, the only criticism I will level is that we made sloppy mistakes at times which could have led to bad things.
The referee was absolutely shocking.
But at the end of the day WHO CARES? We beat this filth and we did it in style.
Ashley Cole is still vibrating around looking for Aaron Lennon, who skinned him nearly triple figures. Keano, King, Robbo, all played class, Berba, Zokora, and Ghaly played well too. Even my hate person Jermaine Jenas worked hard - not saying anything about his level of skill though (although talk about making myself look a fool as I muttered the words 'why are we letting him take free-kicks YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS' as Dawson buried it in the back of the net!!!).
Dawson is a phenomanel player. Absolutely immense. And that goal, I don't think I have ever celebrated a goal that hard as it has been a long time coming, it felt like just because he had scored we had won something big.
A special shout to the full backs who played ****ing amazing as well. Chimbonda is absolutely different grade.
Some great stuff from the crowd today, especially the one aimed at that prick Lampard. And that prick Mourinho. And the pricks Terry, Drogba and Robben.
One last thing to say...please, please, please can we play against Khalid Boularouz every week?

what more can i say that hasnt already been said. wasnt at the game unfortunately, its the first home game ive missed this season :( but i watched it with my dad and the scenes at the final whistle where more explosive than outside. i was just a bit too young to remember those last victories, all i knw is the 5-1 win in the worthless cup semi a few years back.
they where excellent yesterday. every player played his part. special mentions should go to king and dawson, the colossus centre backs, chimbonda and ekotto, lennon the flying whizzkid, jenas, keane and finally robbo, who kept us in the game at 1-0 when the chavs threatened to run riot.
those guys really stood out. the spurs are finally clicking and showing that they are becoming a real threat. now we need another 1st...an away league win next weekend and beating port vale wednesday night would also be very very nice.
anyone fancy us to steel the goons 4th spot on the last day??? maybe im getting ahead of myself, but football often seems to have its sick little twists.
also, special mention must go the arsene wenger and his charges...how more ungracious can you scumbags get. if it wasnt crying like babies over a legit spurs goal@the library, or behaving like little girls when defeated in the CL final, you then start kicking off again cos wet sham beat you and refuse to talk to the press. truely pathetic and totally childish. i guess now you knw what its like now goons :D

I agree. It's not the players though. They have players that can play (even though they buy far more bruisers than footballers), it's mourinho.
He has big flaws in his management. He's as good as it gets defensively and when they don't have the ball but he doesn't have a clue about technical quality football.
It's well proven in the prem that with good players you can bruise and power your way to the title but it doesn't work in europe.

That's hardly negativity. If he'd said Berbatov and King that would have been quite plausible. No doubt at 1-0 down you were saying we can still win this whilst I was thinking a draw would be a miracle. Well done if you were thinking that but you might have thought it 33 times before and been heavily disappointed each time. Again you substitute boundless optimism for a realistic assessment and seem to think this somehow increases the chance of the team doing well. It doesn't, just as my objectivity doesn't increase the chance of losing but it can make fans bitter when their unrealistic expectations are unfulfilled.

It was plausible.
Dawson gets on the end of things every game. It's hard to believe he hadn't scored already but sometimes that happens with centre backs before they get going.
Lennon has also been creating great scoring postions for himself and just needed to get more clinical and hopefully he'll kick on.
And a guy predicted it and it happened. Can't have been that implausible.
It's unbelievable that your still being negative even when it happened. I'd say your a barrel of laughs.
When we went down in the game I was hoping we'd get a goal and get back in the game. You thought a draw would be a miracle. WE WON THE GAME. You were so negative you thought a draw would be a miracle at home (for the fifth placed team last year). So it was a double miracle? And even in victory your still being negative on spurs.
Man, you need therapy for your utter pessimism and negativity. It's sickening. Because not only is the glass half empty but the beer looks like piss.
As for my 'boundless optimism':
The last five seasons I've been within at least within one or two places of where we finished every time. I also if you'd have heard me pre Arnesen I was fervent in saying that we were going nowhere, so don't give me your bullshit about me being fluffy.
I'm a realist. This is really a club on the up with super young talent and a top and potentially great manager.
So half empty don't give me your bullshit. And don't think I haven't noticed your cynical smart arse signature. That was just a suggestion I made when we had no wingers to play Keane out left and Defoe out right in the Barca system. And it may have been a very good idea.

It was plausible.
Look up plausible in the dictionary, remember the scoring record of the 2 players, check what sort of odds you'd get for a win against Chelsea with those 2 scoring. Exactly, the latter 2 figures don't conform to being plausible, even highly improbable is an understatement.
And a guy predicted it and it happened. Can't have been that implausible.
You cleverly forgot he said we still wouldn't win. Perhaps you should pillory him for being too negative.
You thought a draw would be a miracle. WE WON THE GAME. You were so negative you thought a draw would be a miracle at home (for the fifth placed team last year). So it was a double miracle? And even in victory your still being negative on spurs.
You seem to have a genius for making statements without any recourse to facts. How many goals had we scored against Chelsea in the last 4 games when they were challenging for the Prem before Sunday? One. Look at the last 16 years - even when they were struggling for mid-table we weren't beating them. On a number of occasions in the past several years they've hammered us, mostly at WHL. Judging by a number of comments from fans at the game they felt it was a double miracle.
Man, you need therapy for your utter pessimism and negativity. It's sickening. Because not only is the glass half empty but the beer looks like piss.
What a sensitive soul you are if you are so easily sickened. Think of me as the guy who likes to piss in your pint rather than raining on your parade.

I've only been on here for several months so I have no knowledge of this but I'd be interested in what position you predicted when we finished 14th. My guess is you were fervently backing us being in the top 10.

And what a bad suggestion it was. We don't have the quality of player for that system. Barca are struggling to make it work without Eto'o. Perhaps not as cynical as you thought. You made the classic mistake of fitting a system to the players, like a lot of fans do when things aren't going well. Still not as bad as your claim that Keane was on the verge of being world class(very talented but he'll never be that good). You're the life president of the Davids, Keane and Reid fan clubs and doesn't everyone know it.

Be careful not to smile... your face might crack.
Do you honestly think you can bully me intellectually? I know what plausible means. Stop being such a wimp.
I'm not going to pillary Spur. He's not negative generally at all and he talks a lot of sence usually aswell. He's also a proper fan.
And don't flatter yourself, you don't bother me in the least. But I don't like you constantly putting my team down.
And for the record when we finished 14th I predicted 15th. I'll even get my brother (much as he'd hate it as he predicted top 10 and lost a tenner) to come on here and tell you so if you don't believe me.
Barca are trying to play a guy up on his own who can't play that way, that's their main problem. Many teams play 433 you nonse.
Classic mistake... IMLFAO. I'm not going to bother talking about that with you. Your negative little brain probably wouldn't be able to handle it.
Are you saying Keane wasn't bordering on world class last year? 16 goals in 22 starts and playing sublime. And yet Owen is world class to you even though they've the same international record.
Mate, your not respected here. From your Campbell loving comments to your abusing our players and team to when we we started badly and you predicted we'd be very lucky to finish 12th nobody wants to listen to you... so why don't you just **** off.

If you can't be bothered to read I will tell you what's happening. Jrio and Choda are having an argument which started after Jrio said something about a comet after I said about Lennon and Dawson scoring. :D :D Except Choda is upset that he missed the comet. And Jrio is upset because he saw the comet but missed the goals. Something like that.
Anyway, seeing as this is about the Chelsea match. did anyone else see through the roof of the stadium the fireworks going off? Sitting in the east stand I had a perfect view. Basically moments before we scored our second goal these fireworks started going off and didn't stop until after the final whistle. I felt it was quite fitting.

As usual Choda, when you're challenged on your views you resort to childish insults. No one respects that. Maybe you should also look up 'forum' in the dictionary so you will know that it represents an exchange of views with no guarantee that there won't be ones that upset you. I can't see how you feel bullied - surely if anyone is it's me with your abusiveness - but it seems that you have doubts over your relentless positivity that I am expressing and it's causing you to be overly aggressive.
Keane has never been anywhere near world class and he never will be. He misses too many easy chances(latest example the header on Sunday), not even hitting the target, and tries to overly complicate when a simple touch is needed. Sometimes his urge to try an unnecessary fancy flick that loses possession enrages me. Keane has a lot of skill and vision but he is prone to lose a bit of discipline and his finishing is noticeably weaker than 2 years ago.
Owen has been European Footballer of the Year, hasn't he? In that year he deprived Arsenal of the FA Cup through making mugs of Dixon, Adams and Seaman in the last 5 minutes, amongst other achievements. Keane didn't score 16 goals in 22 starts -as always you distort the facts to suit your argument - he scored 16 goals in a season that included 22 starts. Owen is a far superior finisher to Keane - Keane's heading is particuarly woeful - and that is why he is largely considered world class. Records? You can distort them to prove what you want and that will always be your first recourse, Choda.
Please never **** off mate, because your never-ending exaggerations about the abilities of Keane, Davids and Reid are a constant source of amusement that I'd normally have to pay good money to hear at a comedy club.

Stupid ******* comet!! Now I've missed the goals!
Notice you conveniently omitted that you also predicted even those goals wouldn't lead to a Spurs victory. Still, Choda really likes you because you're both big noises in the Jenas Haters Club(I play a lesser part).

I didn't conveniently miss it out. It was hardly needed was it?
I thought Spurs would lose. Happy? When we went one down I thought we would lose. When it was 1-1 I thought we would lose. When we were 2-1 up I dared think we could win.
Still, got the scorers right though :D :D :D :D And that's good enough for me!

Yeah, it was because a main part of Choda's reply was berating me for thinking it would be a miracle at one down to get a draw, noticeably no more negative than you were.
You'll never make another outlandish Spurs prediction as long as you live and see it come true.

Actually, upon seeing the fixtures last season I predicted that losing to West Ham on the final day of the season would make us miss out on Champions League football.
As for seeing another outlandish Spurs prediction come true we shall have to see but my count is currently at two. Dos. Zwei.
You well seem to be holding it against me that I got it right. Maybe it is because you were the first (and only) to say it wouldn't happen...?

Come on, let's be accurate: you got two thirds of a prediction right. You thought Dawson and Lennon would score but that we still wouldn't win. If anyone can find your prediction in the first paragraph I would like to see it, but it may also contain other predictions which didn't come true. You and Choda also seem to share being very selective in presenting the information that favours you.
You're wrong in thinking I hold anything against you. I couldn't be happier(if not clearly amazed) that you were right on the goal scorers and wrong on the result. I had no expectation that we would get anything out of the game - that's called not being a "proper" fan. I look forward to more of your outlandish predictions favourable to Spurs that I ridicule and come true.

I am getting so sick of hearing about Graham Poll and the whining ****ing chelski players crying over a disallowed goal that wouldn't have been a goal if we hadn't of all stopped playing to the whistle. Now the chief of the FA referees is going to suck Mourinho's balls and tell him that it won't happen again. ****ing tossers!
Now Lumpard is saying he holds no grudge! WOW! They already think they are above the rules and are untouchable. The sooner that russian pratt ****s off the better.
