Those of you whose knowledge is greater than mine when it comes to player ins & outs.

How much of this seasons success is down to the work of Frank Ahrnesen?
Yes, I know we all hate him, but honestly how much influence did he have on our season?

Has his replacement done as good or better job than him?

Will Ahrnesen's defection have long term consequences for the club or have no or little effect?

Well, he brought in Carrick and some other players, so he was quite important while he was here but i wouldn't say that him going will have any consequences. We made some cash from it, and now we have that Comolli fella, so i think we're fine.

I don't actually hate Arnesen, I think he did a good job for us and we did well out of him leaving. You can never be sure who he was actually "responsible" for as well, as the club has a scouting network and contacts with agents outside of the DOF responsibilities...

Dawson, Carrick, Mido, Lennon, Routledge and Tainio are some of the players comming in while he was responsible of buying players and there are probably more... I think he did a good job, bot he's gone now and I'm sure Commolli can do a good job to...

If chelsea wanna pay us millions for someone that proved very easy to replace thats up to them, Comolli sounds like a good man with a very good pedigree and we pissed off Wenger in the process...Great.

when i first found out about his defection i was royally pissed of but all credit to Mr. Levy, he got us a great deal and Commoli looks to be a very good replacement. yes Arenesen bought in a lot of great players but at the beginning there were a lot of failures before the club decided to buy more British players i.e. Edson Silva Sousa, a monumental flop who was supposed to be the next big thing.

the problem lies with did he attract them or was he just part of the system.
Three of our first teamers davids, tainio and stalteri were free and i think it's pretty rare to get that in the prem. It already seems like we'll continue with a big squad to push players on to compete and then pick the best from them. If fringe players are playing well you'll get your money back on them. Bit gutted we're letting kelly go on a free tho.

Decent freeibes are welcome!
Tainio was a brilliant coup!

"Bit gutted we're letting kelly go on a free tho."

Sorry shoot ffs but i have to disagree with you there, where as Kelly is a good player he is not great! i think this season has proven that we are CL material, after watching the arse play Juve and Real Madrid, i think i can say neither of those teams particularly frighten me... and steven kelly is not CL material, along with the likes Reidy! Now is the time to relaese some of these players, not only for the clubs sake, but for there sake too!

Lets give them a good send off tho, cus i hate to see ex-players get booed (with one obvious exception) because they tried their best and for one reason or another it just didn't work out!

i'm not saying so much he shouldn't go, although i'm not sold on stalteri, but just that we should have had him contracted so that we could sell him. he'd probably go for £1m-1.5m but he's off on a freebie. Mind you we got £2m back for rasiak now that is bizarre lol

It's all part of a major conspiracy, we get our man on the inside (big Frank A, who most people thought was poached from us, nothing could be further from the truth... he is infact... the mole) to have a sly word in the Russian ear! And low'n'behold Stephen Kelly becomes the most expensive player in the world with a shock 75million pound move across London, and we are laughing all the way to the bank!
