v Bolton (A) LOST 2-0 Played badly , opening day jitters? at the end of the day its a hard place to travel to for any team

v Sheff U (H) WON 2-0 Played well but sheff u were very poor

v Everton (H) LOST 2-0 Played badly against 10 men. prob worst performance of the season. Everton on fire though

v Man U (A) LOST 1-0 Played ok. created enough chances to get a draw at least but poor finishing. its always tough away at utd

v Fulham (H) DREW 0-0 Poor result at home. created enough chances to win

v Liverpoool (A) LOST 3-0 played ok. didnt deserve to lose by 3. created chances and if they were taken would of been a different story. again tough game for anyone at anfield

v Portsmouth (H) WON 1-0 played ok. just about deserved this one based on fact we created more chances in the game

v A.Villa (A) DREW 1-1 dominated first half. disappointing to concede straight after going ahead but on the whole considering we were down to 10 men and villas form it aint a bad point away from home.

Looking back for me, our performances have been average but the only REALLY bad results we have had were against against Everton and fulham at home which we should have won. bolton is never easy away from home and you cant call liverpool and man u away easy either. if we had turned those loses into draws, our start would not be a bad one at all.

You can call it trying to make excuses but i dont' care, its my 2 cents. lets all have faith and hope king and dawson are ok. lennon will be back to full fitness soon as will malbranque. we can turn this around i am certain. lets all stay positive and pray we can keep a fit starting 11 for more than a couple of games in a row!!!

like i posted earlier and before last game do u think well score... and who... well by all accounts it was angel who scored for us... but listerning to the match it seemed we created many chances in 1st half... and neva took any...i think our strike force are to similar and no 1 has outstanding pace or a thunderbolt shot...so therfore all rely on midfield creativity and they aint showing that creative skill in midfield...and also we dont see much shots or headers coming from midfield....
as for defoe... this run reminds me of last season.. jol showed faith nd he cudnt score...then he has to give robbie a go and he takes it and ...we all no wat happend next...bring on rotation...

Didn't we Win 2-1 against Portsmouth?

I Agree with your assesment, we need to start turning chances into goals. Somebody is going to get a hammering, hopefully the spammers!!

We will start to put a few of these chances away, We were unlucky against ManUre, Liverpool, Fulham. Maybe Malbranque will carve more openings for our forwards when he's fit, but yeah i do agree someone is going to get a spanking either home or away, I hope we beat Wet Spam convincingly after what happened on the last game of last season, But nothing would give me greater pleasure than tanking the scum @ there new shithole and exposing them as not the team every football pundit thought they were.

as a few have said, the Pompey win was a massive turning point. it was a well needed and well taken win and yesterdays draw at Villa was a good point as they are the only team in the land unbeaten and had a 100% home record before yesterday. i think it was quite an assured performance and a fairly strong one with a few positives to gleam, mainly the return of Lennon, Ekotto looked very good as did Ghaly. id like to think we'll beat west ham convincingly but we do have fitness problems which the Basiktas trip 3 days before doesnt help, and the spammers will probably be hard as they have their backs to the walls and always raise their game for us but we should get the 3 points, we need them.

Missed chances have cost us points against Man Utd, Liverpool, Fulham and if we had taken the chances in the first half against Villa we would have won the game. We have good forwards who are all having problems scoring at the moment, however that will change soon ( i hope ) and we will then climb the table.
