or can somebody tell me what mido actually does,i have"nt seen him have one shot on target yet and hes supposed to be a striker.we should have gone all out and bought an old fashion striker in johnson instead.I for one truly believe mido is not the player we should have bought,i love mj and truly think hes a great manager but sometimes he does baffle me but like i said maybe its just me.....COYS

Based on his perormaces this seaon you're spot on hastings. As I mentioned before, the loss of "excess" weight has negated his strengths and means he can't hold off defenders. Which is pretty dumb if your game is about being a big strong target man. Give the man a pie or ten, should sorrt the problem.

There certainly are a lot of fans saying that he has lost too much weight. He didn't seem to do anything last night. The point of pumping up balls to a striker who can't win them is beyond me. The only header he won last night was the one right at the end and look where that ended up.

obafemi martins mate a proper striker... who has efforts on the goal... if u can put the ball in the net you dont need a forward to just knock on the high balls...mido hasnt had a shot on target all season much less a shot... look at martins height ...but he stil competes in the air...raw power combined with a football brain and still young...lets see if mido has a shot on target during october...we love u tottenham we do....

I know his game for us last season and before was to hold up the ball and out muscle defenders, but at some point in his career he must have been lighter! I can't imagine Ajax taking on an obese 18 year old just to out weigh the oposition, i mean he must've been more skilfiul than that to get as far as he has in the game, but on this seasons performances it seems like he needs to sample some of the local fare that we all enjoy on tottenham high road.

He is a good player on the ball and used to be quite a lean pacey striker, but with the weight i think he developed a good hold up game. Now he's lost the weight he doesn't seem to know what to do.

Like Keane and Defoe, Mido is struggling for confidence imo. Once the ball rips the net, we may see a turnaround in form. Oh and the fatso from last season, i sure in hell don't want to see.

He doesn't seem to have lost any muscle so that wouldn't explain his lack of dominance against defenders. Putting on several pounds of fat won't aid him in that endeavour. He's certainly put himself under great pressure after ridiculing Campbell, especially after that miss on Thursday. If he doesn't produce a barnstorming performance then the criticism will be quick and heavy.

I think that comment was designed to jee himself up and to pick campbell just as a big up to spurs.

I think characters like him stoke the fire to give them a fight mentality... to give himself courage and anger to assert himself. He knows campbell is going to be marking him and come out fighting... and he'll have to respond.

I don't buy this fat arguement either, I maybe thought there was some truth in it to begin with but now I think he's just not got his season going at all yet and he's lacking confidence.

He's still a big lad and getting fit shoudn't make him less strong. He's not been on a waste away diet.
