Well now we know the squad and keeping in mind Malbranque our new creative midfielder is injured for a while and Captian King will be fingers crossed back for the game how would you line the lads up for our biggest game of the season so far. Here's my suggestion it's a 442 diamond
GK Robbo
RB Chimbonda
LB Ekotto
CB King
CB Dawson
DM Zokora
RM Tainio
LM Davids
AM Lennon
ST Berbatov
ST Keano
SB Cerny
SB Hudd
SB Jenas
SB Defoe
SB Mido

Looks pretty good but i'm not sold on David's on the left, he ends up in the middle out of position. I would give Zokora a shot to create for us with David's holding, Lennon on the right and Tainio on the left. It is a gamble but Zokora can pass and has pace to attack. It won't happen though.

The thing is it's a diamond formation so Davids is supposed to float inside and let Ekotto over lap him on the wing then Davids covers him same as on the right with Tainio and Chimbonda. With Chimbo and Ekotto on the wings and Lennon running right at the defence the 2 forwards will need to focus on off the ball movement to drag defends all over the place and create many many holes for our 5 attackers(Chimbo, Ekotto, Lennon, Berbatov, Keano) to exploit. I can't wait to see what Jol does for this game.

robinson
chim dawson davenport lee
lennon zakora huddlestone benny a/e
berbatov keane
i was thinking of maybe being a bit more adventurous and replacing huddlestone ,with keane , to play just off the strikers and having mido up front

Ledley is supposed to be back for this game and I really hope he is because Dawson & Davenport are way to inexperienced for a big one like this. You forget about Ekotto Singapore or do you just think he's shite? remember what happened last time YPL played against manure

i had ekotto left mid , i know what lee did last time , i can still picture it and it hurts but ekotto has the pace and it looks the stamina to help out a lot if needed in defenmsive stuff
and cheers , have one on me

I see what your saying, the only complaint I have about Jol is, he will probably go with Jenas again. I hope i'm wrong but a good chance it will happen. Once Malbranque is fit though, the options look tremendous. And with Chimbo joining and King fit i feel good about our defense going into Old Trafford. We need a positive result outta that game, and its very possible.

I think I'm gonna pray that Jenas doesn't start that game but an interesting point is last season he did score against them at old trafford and WHL food for thought aint it

i rate jol , i think he is an astute manager , he knows , im sure better than we do that he needs to shake it up a bit , and that jj ahs been underperforming . the only reason i can maybe see him sticking with jenas is, if after the dressing room bust up between zak and dav that maybe they might not gel . but saying that as you can see from my team i didnt include jenas or davids .

I'm still not entirely convinced that there was a dressing room bust up, but even if there was like last year between Keano & Davids we started to play class after that and they look really close now always talking on the field and leading by example.
Davids is a big game player so he definately shouldn't be dropped for this game because it don't get much big than manure away except for maybe the scum.

I know the boys have something to prove, and with that said we should see a gutsy performance. Let's get the season rolling on a positive with a win. And cheers fellas i have a Modello myself.

On Pro Evo I've been playing Zokora on the left of a diamond to sparkling results!
Hopefully Jol has been doing the same.

I am convinced because of Jol's comments about players analysing(for that read blaming someone else) the game in the dressing room when he preferred to see it as a "poxy day in England".
Exactly and at Arsenal Davids was sent off, having set up the goal.

how could Davids be blaming Zokora when he only came on for 20min when we were already losing 2-0. It doesn't make sense

It's getting close now and King is fit as is Mido(and he looks in great shape to)
so I'd give Berby a rest and not risk him. I reckon this is how we'll line up
-----------Robbo-------------
--Chimbo King Dawson Ekotto--
--Lennon Davids Zokora Tainio--
----------Keano Mido----------
subs: Cerny Gardner Hudd Ghaly Defoe

Davids is a big game player and they don't come much bigger than this, but really tho he's been our best player so far this season.
I to would like to see Ghaly given a shot in the first team but manure away is not the right game for that.

Robbo
Chimbo Dawson King Lee
Lennon Jenas Davids Keane BAE
Mido
subs Cerny Davenport Tainio Defoe Zokora
Assuming Berby is injured
the idea being BAE and Lee can negate Ronaldo threat between them and BAE will keep Ronaldo honest and having to track back, Keane can float forwards when we have ball , and clog up midfield when we dont have it then be there to take it off the defence, with 5 in midfield we should be able to win it and keep possesion providing theres some movement off the ball , with only one really upfront that may entice their DM forwards more to help the midfield battle so we can exploit the space behind
and it also means Jol dioesnt have to drop any of his favourites

Not a bad idea, but would still prefer BAE at LB and trying out Ghaly at LM. Ghaly is stronger than Lee and can be more effective in confronting Gay Boy in midfield. Also he can be more of the link up when Keane goes up alongside Mido.
Keanoldinho

Ghaly doesn't need to make his debut against manure and on top of that he damn sure doesn't need to mark Ronaldo in his debut. Talk about throwing him in the deep end
