On the back of 2 defeats and a draw in the Premiership, Spurs need to find a way back to winning ways. However goals are proving hard to come by and difficult to keep out without 2009/10's top scorer and and player of the season, Jermaine Defoe and Michael Dawson.

Harry Redknapp will be likely to persist with the 4-5-1 formation to accomodate October's player of the month Van Der Vaart, but with Peter Crouch unable to find the net in the league this season, and with all three other strikers both out of form and injured, he lacks a complete lone CF to play off.

Blackburn come down to London off the back of a hard won match at St James Park, and have attained the hard nosed approach typical of a Sam Allardyce side. Usual Suspects El Hadj Diouf and Chris Samba will undoubtedly seek to rattle the erratic Gomes in goal with unabashed gamesmanship, meaning the aforementioned keeper and the Spurs defence will have to be prepared to stay strong and resiliant throughout. Especially given Tuesday's miscommunication howler which gifted Sunderland a point.

Hopefully we can scrap this one out but most importantly get back to winning ways, less we lose further touch with the top 4 places.

I never, ever say this about a game like this, but I really can sense a defeat here. I just can't see us keeping a clean sheet against the Blackburn bombardment, and Crouch won't get any joy out of Samba. Obviously they're going to come and sit back looking for a draw, and without Crouch knocking something down for VDV I don't know how we're going to get a goal. I really do hate shitty northern teams like Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn etc. who come to WHL looking for a fight rather than a football match.

I know we do. But for the reasons you have mentioned (I'm more worried about the lack of goals than the shipping of them) I fear it's no longer a case of occasionally being frustrated by a shitty northern team, it's a case of we cannot beat a shitty northern team. And of these teams, Blackburn are one of the better ones, and one of the best equipped to deal with us I reckon.

Bale has been found out by premier league teams. You stick two on him, stay tight to him and he can't do anything. By dropping him to LB, I just think he'll get more of a chance to overlap and get runs on people. Modric will drift inside and pull players with him giving Bale that space.

No real place from midfield or upfront is my worry. Hopefully all the doubtfuls can make it as they would all start IMO.

If Bale not getting anywhere then bring on Kranjcar & drop Bale back to LB. He should get more room there. Harry did this to good effect last year but seems to have stopped that for no good reason. Palacios will probably have to come on for Sandro in the 2nd half as well but I do not trust him to get through the match without getting sent off or giving away a penalty or free kick in a dangerous position.
Corluka will bring more stability to the defence & Hutton can beat players & give a good cross from the right.
Despite the injuries a win must be the only satisfactory result to end our non winning run and stop the slide down the league.

For someone noted for his man management, he sure uses his subs poorly. Perfect opportunity to protect our best players and give some of the squad guys a run out. Instead we do nothing.

Totally agree with this comment. We had players on the bench who need minutes on the pitch and the match was won(or so we thought at 4-0) Subs should have come on earlier and maybe we would not have lost 2 goals.

Having said that I expected Blackburn to score and they had chances to score more. Good result but still some worrying signs. Hopefully Thud & lennon back soon followed by Daws & defoe.

you could see that this was a real oppurtunity to get that clean sheet. gallas was fuming aswell. there wasnt any protection in the middle for the 2 goals and the one gallas cleared off the line. so it could have been 4 goals conceeded if it wasnt for kabouls clearance aswell.

we should have scored at least 3 more.
