SAF won them all.

Straight from the Horse Handlers mouth (SAF) Rooney has no intentions of signing a new contract at UTD and wants out.

Unbelievable...

by 'won them all' do you mean SAF is still at Man U and the players arent then many fans may query that.
I wouldnt say he 'beat' Beckham or Ronaldo but I know what you mean.

Rooney has been a knob, when England played Spain a few years ago, just after Emlyn Hughes died it was, he was a ****** then showing no respect to the Spanish (which I didnt mind) and zero respect to Emlyn by being a spolit **** when being taken off for his own good .
Hope he does leave dont care where to, but also hope he buggers up Utd as much as possible this season then we can do them .
If he goes to City then I think (hope) he will get a seriously good kicking at some point from Man U fans . But reckon he'll go to Real with his bum chum mate Ronaldo .
It seems Berbatov is too good for him

Wow can't believe this, all United and SAF has done for him and he treats them like this. I can't stand the boy personally, has no respect for anyone and thinks he can do what he pleases.

SAF can fvck off if he wants Modric and Bale. Also how will United recover from this? A squad that is getting old and relys heavily on Wayne.

As long as Red Nose keeps away from Van Der Vaart, Rooney can do whatever he wants.

man united losing 1 world class player, and maybe losing giggs and scholes to retirement can only make spurs stronger against them!

hopefully dont sign too many great players like they used too!

To be fair, ol Fergie has always kpet the club and the football at the forefront an dhas no tolerance who mess about, get too big for their boots, and generally get up to antics that detract from the team and performances. If you're not 100% committed you get the boot sunshine!

Que mad scramble from Barca, Inter, Real and Bayern...

Jamie Redknapp reckons he will go to Man City  I can't see it myself. I think he will go Spain personally, but United are riddled in debt which leaves me to wonder how much money they have to spend.

I can imagine that he will leave but where to go. even if Rooney wants to leave ManUtd. there are not many clubs who can afford him. I think Real and City are the only two clubs who could and who could use him (lets be honest, in Barca they dont need him, with Villa/Messi).I reckon if he leaves he will go to Real

Apparently he only has 18months left on his contract, surely he will either go Real Madrid or Barca?

If City make a stupid offer, United have to listen. There just aren't a lot of teams out there. The Italians are lacking in funds, as is Barca, Bayern and Real could probably afford him, but I've heard that his wife doesn't want to leave England. So that leaves City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Spurs. Arsenal and Liverpool don't have that kind of money, we won't pay that kind of money, so that leaves just City and Chelsea, and if City is willing to pay the premium to get him, then United have no choice but to sell. The real question will be how much of the transfer fee will SAF get to spend? The Ronaldo transfer didn't work out too well for him, and if Rooney goes, United suddenly have an extremely ordinary squad.

It's a bonkers situation, but if he leaves he should go abroad, especially if he genuinely wants to improve himself to being one of the best players in the world. So many of our internationals have the chance to play abroad and really build their experience and abilities (sounds like an RPG game(!!)) but bottle it and stay here.

And if he goes to City after all Utd did for him, then ppphhhtt. What a disrespective toerag.

If he goes to City, We could all start singing 'Are you Campbell in disguise?' whenever the **** plays .

Its the problem with paying these knobs way too much money, they just do NOT appreciate anything .
Hope Colleen leaves him , he's caught syphillis off the slag he shagged, and he tops himself by hanging himself from the Old Trafford cross bar at half time in the Manc derby (only joking on the last 2 but be better than listening to Andy Gray and Jamie Redknapp twittering on.)

I can't believe the bbc has dedicated a whole section of rumours to this sh1te,
I'm loving seeing fergie almost in tears in all the press conferences.
I can't see him signing for city, I'm pretty sure he'll go to spain further away from the paparazzi chasing him for hooker stories.
He's been playing crap for ages so who really cares.
I can't believe arry even bothered joking about signing him, I don't want that sh1te at spurs.

I believe that he would would go to City like a shot if they offered him the insane money that they are rumoured to be prepared to pay.
He would be incredibly disrespectful for doing so but he is a modern footballer:And modern footballers look upon clubs as just their current employer and have no qualms about moving somewhere else if they are offered more money, even if that offer is from Child Molester United or Cat Rapist Rovers.

The clubs rarely treat the players with any sort of respect or loyalty, I don't see it as very surprising when the players do not do the same. And if another company in your city was going to pay you 2-3 times more to do the same job, who here would pass that up? Either way, is it more money than he could ever need? Yeah, absolutely, but we live in a culture that glorifies money, so it's not surprising to see people chase it.

But Rooney is player he has become, or becoming, because of Manchester United and specifically Alex Ferguson. In no way can the club be accused of being disrespectful of Rooney. Ferguson even gave him a break during all his recent personal problems, and Fergie never does that.

And you can't apply every day business/career theory to football clubs. It's not just another name on the FTSE or whatever, it's not just an employer, it's a passion. Obviously players don't see it that way these days, but at this level showing honor and integrity to a club who done you proud and visa versa cannot be ignored. A move to City would be like, oh I don't know, Campbell to Arsenal. It shows poor character. He may not give a shit, but every fan in the country will (except for Man City maybe, they've already sold their souls to the oil wells). Would Alan Shearer move to Sunderland if they offered to quadruple his wages? Like hell he would. He wouldn't even wear a mackem shirt for charity, preferring to simply donate £10k of his own cash right there and then.

Clearly Rooney's heads not right, whose would be with the mess he's created for himself? But I'm surprised it's been made so public. Although if he does wind down his contract for 18 months, the big clubs are going to be falling over themselves to offer him a blockbuster contract, so I wouldn't be surprised that they've done this to see if any of them get twitchy and offer early bids in January or next summer. Bidding war between Real/City?

Having said all this mind, he could sort his life, game and attitude all out in the next few months and end up signing a new contract with Man Utd next June.

Reading the comments, some food for thought.

Fergie didn't make Rooney the player he is, Rooney did. He was outstanding at 16.

Rooney spat the dummy at Everton engineering his move after Moyes supported and nurtured him.

Citeh have to reduce wages to fall within UEFA fair play guidelines. Getting Santa Cruz and Bellamy off the wage bill would free up the proposed wages for Rooney. Anyone still up for Santa Cruz at Spurs?

All in all he seems like a complete idiot, has handled his private life atrociously and his comments and actions prove even more what happens when you give children far too much money on a weekly basis.

My money is on Chel$ki, with Real a close second.

"Once a blue, always a blue" he said when he was at Everton. Loyalty clearly means nothing to him, I reckon he'll be at City before too long. I can't see him moving abroad, I can't even see him moving down South. He's burnt quite a few bridges at United, Liverpool aren't in the Champions League, so that leaves City and their endless piles of money.

ManU and SAF also have a vested interest in managing Rooney's career. The club has made ton's of money off of him, and SAF has been able to keep winning. Of course they are going to treat him well now, he's still valuable. How they'd treat him later is an open question, they seem to be doing all right to Giggs and Scholes, but clearly others have been treated less fairly (in their opinions at least).

And sure, it's more than just a game to the fans. But most of the players do not feel that way, as the game turns more and more into just a big business, the players are going to have to look at it the same way to protect themselves.

Good points there Antil. Giggs was in the press a little in the early part of his career but other than that Scholes and he have kept out of the spotlight and are considered consumate proffesionals. It's no suprise they have been treated well.

It doesn't matter if you earn £150k a week or 15k a year, invariably if you start acting like an idiot at work and become unproffesional, if your private life starts to effect your performance at your job, sooner or later your employees are going to take you to task.

Rooney seems to be very poorly advised at the moment, his statements have been uneccasry and porrly timed. His form is atrocious at the moment, he apparently had these discussions with Gill in August. If his disillusionment has stemmed from Manure's 'lack of ambition' has affected his performance what was his excuse in the World Cup?

Antilokhos

To be fair, I think Rooney is concerned with ManU. They've let quality players go without replacing them (Ronaldo and Tevez). Whether it is true or not, the perception is that SAF has no money to spend and that ManU are at risk of becoming a spent force. I do think it is right of Rooney to be concerned there because the squad they have out their now is not one that is likely to win anything anytime soon.

Now whether Rooney is handling it right is another question, but he's still just a kid, one who has been babied and coddled since he was 16, at least. He's not had to face a lot of adversity so it's no surprise he doesn't really know how to handle himself. In time, he'll get it all sorted out, I just hope that happens before he makes any decisions that he will regret.

While Rooney was pondering the fall-out from several hours of high-level talks at Old Trafford, a 40-strong group of United supporters, many wearing balaclavas and hooded tops, had travelled to his home in Prestbury, Cheshire to warn him off any move to Manchester City. Witnesses reported a gathering outside his house, with a banner reading "If you join City you're dead".
