They're only £40 from Spurs for goodness sake - put the money directly in to the club!!!

Totally agree, buy from the club shop or online and support the club.

What's everyones thoughts on this whole supporting your club direct? The club sells the shirt for a good £10 more than Sports World, JJB etc so that money obviously goes to them but the £30 you pay to JJB etc must get to them aswell?

Yeah i'm all for supporting the club, but we have Spurs fans all over the place some fans can't get to the Lane and maybe don't like buying on-line other than that support the club whenever you can.

Buy over the phone - 0870 420 5000. The club will get some money from sales through other outlets, but the majority goes to the retailer, middlemen and Puma. If you buy from the club the retailers mark-up goes to the club.

You know what, it was the reason I nearly never bought the shirt. I am a firm believer in that every fan should do this, but circumstances at the moment have forced me to buy it elsewhere. I probably would have waited for these circumstances to change had I not walked in and seen it. It was too good an opportunity to pass up. But do not worry, plenty of training gear and that GK strip shall be bought from the club shop - it just makes me feel better.

Yep, all you're doing is increasing the profits of the club shop. By this logic you would spend as much of your money as possible at club concessions for souvenirs, food, drink etc regardless of how much more it cost you than at other outlets . It doesn't translate directly into the club gaining extra money that goes on players, etc. I'll be getting mine from JJB.

Ummm, I do! Ok, maybe not souvenirs, but I certainly get a pie and a beer and I don't really care that it costs a couple of quid more because I know it's going to the club. Why? Because of two factors:
1. Retail leases are usually structured with a % of turnover agreement, particularly for places like spurs where turnover is directly linked to the performance of the club - i.e. how many bodies they can get in.
2. Base rent is linked to the profitability of the site. Even if there's no profit sharing, the club can increase rent on an ongoing basis inline with the market and profitability.
Anyway, I reckon the club probably owns the Store and online business outright and it therefore directly affects Spurs profitability and hence their ability to attract and retain the best talent (players, backroom and management). That's why I don't go to JJB.
