Why has Zokora been dropped when Davids is still in the line up?? I said this last season and I honestly believe that Davids must have a clause in his contract saying if fit he has to start! there is no other explanation for him to be starting every game.

Think MJ is still trying to find his best combination. Can't fault that as we have quite a few new faces.

Listen davids is good mate he has done wonders for us and blunder's otherwise we would not have placed where we placed without him last season, and Zokora is good but he is new let him settle in, we dont need no more injury's.

DAVIDS IS A FECKING LEGEND.

Against Bolton he was our best player on the park and today he was one of our best players along with Berbatov, Keane, and Lennon.

All u people who say he's shite and not needed are deluded idiots who know sweet **** all about football.

I agree he's past his best BUT he's still one of our best players and deserves to start on merit alone not reputation. He's all over the place getting stuck in and his passing ability is nowhere near as bad as some of these internet muppets make it out to be.

so wipe the shit out your eyez and really watch the games instead of jumping on the bashing bandwagon

Davids was superb in the two games this season. His presence is immense, his work rate and pitbull competitiveness is priceless. He takes responsibility and part of this is that he also wants the ball when times are a difficult (like 2-0 down at Baulton).

These are very underestimated things in my eyes. He's been a legend over the years, take one quick look at the clubs he's played for and his medal cabinet and realise that this guy is an out and out winner. Players like him are priceless.

He's getting on alright, and he won't play every game, but he still has a lot to give our cause this year. I for one am so glad he's stayed.

I can't understand the Davids bashing either, the guys is still a pitball, he relentlessly hassles players which is what I like to see.
Occasionly he trips on the ball and has the odd wayward pass, but he's done fantastically well in our opening games.

Zokora looks a class act, and I believe will evolve in to a invaluable aquisition for the club.
(look at me with the big words)

agree that Davids is very important to our team.

we need "bad" boys that are natural winners

i have to say i agree competely with keanoldinho. i said davids was our best player against bolton aswell and cound't understand why people were bashing him, he seemed to be the only spurs player competing. There is no doubt in my mind he contirbuted massively to our success last season. He was never meant to be a glamour player..he does the ugly things in football etremely well(breaking play up etc) and yet some cant see this..i think anyone who knows anything about football would appreciate this...off course he's prone to the bad game just like anyone else and is past his best but still has a lot to offer this squad for the forthcoming season

It's all well and good to say he breaks up the play and gets in at any opportunity - which he does. But at the end of the day if you had to take one player out of midfield for a left winger it would prob be him.

Now I only caught the Sky highlights yesterday and he seemed to be more settled being able to get over to the right as well as the left when he got moved inside. Perhaps this is why people are attacking him because he is only ever on the left nowadays - like a caged pitbull - only able to do half a job...

His passing is woeful at times, it's something we have to get on with though as it seems he cant find a target with quite a few of his passes.

He's still a player that can and obviously does contribute fantastically to the team and the club, those extra training sessions with Lennon last season would have been interesting to watch.

It's so great to have a legend like him at the club. He is easily one of the most recognisable players on the planet.

I like to think that this pretty much sums Edgar up...

yeah i agree with you...i dont like seeing him on the left..he wont play all games anyway as he's getting to old..all iam saying is his work rate is tremondous and he's a real battler..yes his passing is clumbsy at times but he gives everything for the cause..which in my book is a prerequisite at this level, and yes if we sign a new left winger he will probably not start as many games..though through injuries and suspensions he will still be an integral part of this squad. At the end of the day it is how the sqaud is utilised which will determine our success.

but we were pretty good last night, was well pleased. Do you think we'l sign a lw before the window shuts? and if so who

If we don't I'd like to see Routledge given a shot on the left. But Petrov looks the most likely option.

Spur
23rd August 2006, 11:23 AM
I think we will but only it is a worhtwhile player. The thing is we went the whole of last season without a left winger, a whilst there are a few times a game where I say 'we need a left winger' because they would be doing something at that exact time, last season proves we don't actually need one.

olly27
23rd August 2006, 11:24 AM
not if we dont want to improve..off course we need one!

Whilst I see your point, I don't agree.

Last season we nearly finished 4th without a lefty. This season, if we shore up at the back abit more, make less mistakes and take more of our chances we will get in the top 4 without one. It's about being clinical and alert in every position.

olly27
23rd August 2006, 01:14 PM
well you could argue, in that case, we would have finished fourth with one!
the bottam line is a lw would provide balance and shape to the side and would give the opposition's defence something else to think about than just lennon's threat. A left sided player is a must if we want to improve.

Well I could give a flying fook about being rude when I continually have to read the bollox some people post on these forums about one of our best players. There are some people who have an educated opinion and know what they're talking about THEN there are others who get there opinion from a feckin fortune cookie.

We are all spurs fans here and each and every one of us is entitled to voice our opinions as and when we see fit, we don't have to agree with each others views but becoming abusive to other forum members is both immature and completely out of line, it just shows what a brainless individual you must be.

somethings are obvious though! thats why we will buy a left sided player before the window shuts! whats the point in saying it wouldn't improve our side or arguing about it for that matter...its clear that MJ and his team have it at the top of their list! but sure what do they know!
